New original game is on the way guys.
👀
Is it an "original Shuffle game", OR an absolutely original game that's built and invented by Shuffle that no other casino has available? 🤔
Plus Noah made a very long X-post.
3 months after we launched Shuffle, I had a call with a big name in the gambling industry who offhandedly mentioned that we had a <2% chance of being around in 6-12 months time.
At the time, I was taken aback - we were profitable, seeing good growth numbers, and felt like we had a strong foothold in an unfamiliar industry. Now, 18 months in, I know exactly what he meant. Obviously it’s a different story for Shuffle now, and in subsequent conversations he clarified that it’s the number he assigns to all new entrants that were around the same point that we were, not necessarily adjusted to account for our team/vision.
There are a lot of pitfalls when it comes to operating a betting platform, some that seem obvious and others you wouldn’t anticipate until you’re faced with it. I’ve seen a lot of platforms launching over the past few months, see plenty more on the horizon, and have seen a number that no longer exist because of these pitfalls.
Over the next few months, I plan on writing a series of articles breaking down what it takes to operate a platform like Shuffle, and what you need to be thinking about from day one. I’m writing it for two reasons:
- so that current/future operators won’t get caught offside by some of the things that we’ve seen (both at Shuffle and at platforms that didn’t make it past these challenges)
- to dissuade anyone who thinks that it’s easy to run these businesses
This industry does a lot better when there are strong teams doing things properly. I plan on these notes being shared with a closed list of future or current operators, so if you want to be included, send me a DM and let me know your site/platform and what you’re interested in hearing about.
We’re by no means experts on everything gambling, but I’m confident that the knowledge we do have and the way we’ve approached situations is enough to help (or at least get you thinking about important considerations).

Those few people in his closed list will learn the pitfalls, and the wisdom in how to avoid/handle them. Is there a way to be in that list even if I'm not an operator? I'm merely curious about the pitfalls.
