Borrowing money to solve some problems isn’t bad, but borrowing money to gamble is really bad.
I fully agree with you, the ones who borrow money to solve some of their financial issues or to buy some food for their family is good use of borrowing but it's not good at all to borrow money for gambling.

If someone becomes an addict then in most cases no one lend money to such people but if still somehow they get success in borrowing money then it would be problematic for both the borrower who gambles it away, and for the lender who might not get his/her money back.
Whenever if you do find someone borrows money to you and do know that he/she's been dealing with gambling then you would definitely be that rejecting out such request even if its your close friend or relative.
There's no indeed chance that for you to be repaid those loans or borrowed money specially if that someone doesnt really have that plans on stopping it. They will really be that continuing on finding or seeking possible funds that they could take even if it means on taking up some loans whether on personal or other like banks of financing as long they could be able to do so then they would definitely be doing it. People will really be only stopping literally on the time that they dont have money on their pockets or bank accounts for them to play on or there's no one that they could take some loans or borrow.

One knock out realization will hit them hardly. Once their loved ones start to talk to them with sense, that's one way to wake them up.
And when they have nothing left anymore and they have noticed that, that's going to hit them very badly, critically.
Because ultimately the best way for someone to realise that the importance of self-control in gambling is to lose so that when they have felt a loss then surely they will try to reorganise and think about the actions that they have finally done as a form of evaluation.

I say this because I have experienced a point where I lost quite a large amount of money in terms of nominal which was a turning point for me to be more mature than before. Although it cannot be denied that until now I still gamble but as much as possible I try to focus more on myself so that I don't get stuck in the same way as before which makes me lose quite a lot and I always limit and try not to cross the limit when I have lost the nominal amount that I have agreed with myself every week.

Yes, usually like that, what I mean is that people will usually be able to experience change when they have experienced something bad that makes them realize that they have been treating gambling in the wrong way and thinking, but of course it also depends on the person, simply if for example they always find it difficult to evaluate then awareness will never arise in their minds and that is the reason why many people find it difficult to recover from addiction.

Basically, everyone will never like losing money, so before you make a decision, make sure that you really understand what and how the consequences are, such as the risks in gambling which will always be part of the game, and this is the reason why we are always advised to only gamble with a little money, none other than to avoid bad possibilities such as losing large amounts of money, remember that besides you can win but you are also very likely to lose.

The moment you lose that is when you will be able to control your self because we gamblers have similar abilities when we lose we always want to make back the money we have lost and that is like one of the problems because when you keep playing to make back your money, then you keep losing, and control is very essential we just have to be very honest gambling is not somthing you joke with because even with control you won't be able to alway control your self.

There is no way you would not have lose a lot of money when it comes to gambling just that the more you lose the more your chances of winning also increases because you will not know exactly when you will get lucky, there are periods that you just have to let go the whole thing for some time, taking a break is very important because gambling can actually be very consuming, so we all just have to be careful not to get consumed because when it get to that point then everything becomes dangerous because there are people that even sell there property just to gamble that is the problem with gambling.

But when looking at the condition that is already severe in terms of addiction and continues to sell what they have, it is actually quite difficult to sober up gamblers like this before they really realise on their own when they have lost everything they have.
There are many examples of this happening where those who are addicted and cannot control their gambling activities actually do more and sometimes with unreasonable bets just because they want to restore the situation that is not in their favour.

But in the end this is clearly a mistake that is getting fatal and they know it but they don't want to admit directly that what they did was a mistake because this will make them regret it from the beginning. Those who are already at this point will not stop before what they want to do happens by gambling continuously until their money and assets are exhausted and only then do they regret what they have done.

People who are addicted will realize that they have suffered a big loss but they are not aware enough to be able to stop by reducing their interest in gambling, people who are acutely addicted are likely to continue gambling even though they have experienced consecutive defeats and suffered quite large losses. This is because initially they had the wrong response to gambling which they thought they could win easily and this is what made them addicted.

With the many cases that have occurred, it should be a lesson for us to be aware of not gambling excessively, I think this can be done as long as we ourselves are aware.
Those who are addicted will not realize easily as they only want to keep playing gambling. They will not think about the money and thinks that they can have the money to return to gambling. Those who addicted will be difficult to see the reality that happen to them because their focus is change and see that gambling are their passion.

If they can prevent themselves from playing gambling too often and realize that gambling can makes them addicted easily, they will always trying to keep themselves stay away from gambling. They will not come back too often and playing gambling to chase the win but they will see that gambling is just a way to enjoy their spare time.

Those gamblers become poor not just with finances but also with mentality. They've been shackled by the thought that they will still recover and be fine after all that they've done. It's best for them to just stop and realize that they have done something wrong to themselves and selling almost all and everything made them release a poor decision that had reflected to how they think.

Well borrowing money isn't that bad but the worst thing is that such addicts sell their household things and belongings of their siblings and other family members.
It's not bad if it's put into good use. But if it's used for gambling, that's how the worse part starts. And this isn't just a tale and it is really happening. Gamblers selling their stuff to fund their gambling addiction seems to be a common thing with most of the addicted ones. They could even sell their souls and bodies just for them to get funded, we see people do crazy things for themselves just to do their thing.

An addict will definitely put all of those family properties i to gambling and the funniest part is that, he will still loss it all to gamble, and by the time he has exhausted the money from those sold properties he will eventually look for more or even start stealing in other to fund his addictions. Gambling addict aren't something any family can cope with especially when he gets to the level of displaying some criminal act just for the sake of gambling which he will eventually loss it all. If a gambler gets to point where he doesn't take advise or show any atom of remorse for his actions,  then the best solution is to disengage yourself from such person because there are definitely going to ruin your life one way or the other.

I tell you and is very bad for one to go extra miles in borrowing money to cover up for their gambling activities, it's sure a pure state of gambling addiction just like someone that can go miles to  smoke or take illicit drugs.
Well borrowing money isn't that bad but the worst thing is that such addicts sell their household things and belongings of their siblings and other family members.

Some addicts often sell their wives items and some even forget all moral values and do worst things possible.

The addicts that are highly addicted don't really have any moral values and they could literally cross all lines.

A gambler shouldn't be borrowing money, what do you mean it is not bad? Only someone who has a job and doesn't do gambling is fit to borrow money, because when they get paid they can easily pay back their debt, but a gambler won't keep his promise, because the urge of gambling will make him fail his promise.

Before a gambler start selling a house because of gambling it started from small debts here and there, they must have hurt friends and families, borrow money from them and refused to pay, I am sorry but this is something I have experienced with addicted gamblers and they all have that one thing in common, owing so many people around them.

The next thing you will hear is they sold someone's valuable item or their own property to gamble or pay debt.

Those that are using gambling as a source of income will suffer in the long run, because if you don't control yourself and become addicted, all those money will be taken back by the casino. In the beginning the gambler might be lucky to be winning and making profits, he will feel that he understands the game very well and that all the skills and tricks are in his palm, but when luck turns against him, he will lose more than what he had won, because his funds will be involved.

In gambling, luck plays a role in any case, even if we are talking about sports betting and you are sure that the team should win, there may be a penalty, or a red card, or just a few fatal mistakes in defense that will lead to defeat. Therefore, in addition to analyzing the match, you also need to hope that luck will be on your side. I doubt that there is a gambling addiction here, this is only possible if the player allows himself to play for exorbitantly large bets for him, this can become a problem.

Sometimes gambling addict will have an impact on the people around him and can also cause losses by borrowing money and there is no certainty in returning it or even as @SamReomo said with an addict who sell their valuables household.
This is condition that sometimes creates bad thoughts in society about gambling addict, and of course an addict continuously if not treated and there is an effort to cure it then it will be like chronic disease and can have very fatal consequences in the future.
That's true. There's no assurance if they willpay back or not which is why even non gambling addicts should be careful on whom they will lend their money. I have a lot of friends with debts on me and some of them are drug addicts which I just recently knew. I don't even try to ask for the money to be given back but its against my naturr to lend money to people who will just use it for something illegal.
Its not different to the gambling addicts, for me I feel like I am the one urging them to gamble more because I am the one who provided them money even though they lied about the purpose of it.
But it can also cause misunderstanding with friends and relatives so those borrowers/gambling addicts might as well not do it or they will lose a lot of friends.

It's depend on each country economic situation because I had read stories of unemployed youths in some third world countries who resorted to gambling as a major source of income and according the story they bet mostly on soccer matches and had consistently been having some winning streaks, they believe that since there unavailability of jobs thus engaged in soccer gambling to make end meet for instance playing 2.00 odd with some reasonable amount of money do earn them decent profit in a long run, however in developed countries gambling is played for fun thus there is no reason to rely on it income for personal gain.
Even if there are people who make gambling as a source of income, I never think it is something good to follow. I'm not sure if those people always win, they must got losses as well. Moreover when you play betting, it mostly relies on the luck. Although you make analysis, it is difficult to get the accuracy of winning chance on the game/match. For example in football match, it is often that a big team can be defeated by a smaller team. Although those big teams have good stats and have stronger squads, they are not impossible to lose if they fail to play optimally in the match.

Based on what I have witnessed in some compulsive gamblers, they usually see some of all these signs when they are gambling but they ignore it and don't bother to make a correction, they keep ignoring it until they can no longer control it because it has become a habit. At least if a gambler begins to notice all this symptoms, they should either take a brake from gambling for some time or seek a advice from someone that can help them.
They're aware of the signs of gambling addiction, but still lack self control. A responsible gambler with a plan would recognize when they are losing too much and take steps to prevent addiction, without needing from others. As the saying goes, A good person advises themselves after all  self reflection and introspection can be more valuable than advise from others.
You nailed it, no matter how careless anyone is, they should know they are addicted over time, but the issue is that they can't just stop, they lack that willpower and it's a problem. It may not be as aggravated as that if they understood the benefits and the true power of introspection before they continue gambling. This would have helped them to adequately being cautious and regularly evaluate their financial and mental statuses in relation to gambling. This is what some people even with weak minds have that keeps them preserved in gambling till today and the insensitive ones always perish in their carelessness.

financial ruin of gamblers can indeed be evidence that gamblers are addicted. I also see friends and coworkers also experiencing online gambling addiction. they lost a lot of their assets, some even almost lost their jobs. have debts with several coworkers, and become untrusted in the workplace.
no gambler wants to be addicted, their intention is definitely to keep playing. unfortunately, they do not have the measures to control themselves in making bets. gambling addiction can happen to anyone, even a beginner gambler.
be careful when using our money in gambling.

Borrowing money in general isn't that bad as long as you will use it to make more money in a SAFE way, and not for gambling purposes.

Speaking of selling household, I've seen our neighbor here a year ago selling all of his belongings and even a portion of his land just so that he has the funds that he can use for gambling. He was addicted obviously, and it came to a point where he steals his parent's belongings and then selling it. It's just hard for me to see him experiencing that thing, but at the same time, it was the after effect of his wrong decisions. As for addicts selling their wives, I didn't hear anything about this one, but if I'm the wife, I'd rather divorce my addicted husband than doing that.

Speaking of moral values, the ones that you're pertaining are the ones that are considered the "worst of the worst", but I still believe that there are still addicted gamblers out there that still know what they're doing and can still control themselves... at least temporarily. Cheesy
