Is seeking a new strategy or thinking of betting while you are sleeping signs of addiction? If not, what are little signs that unfold you are becoming a gambling addict?

Thinking about the strategy of placing bets before bed, I think this is already one of the signs of a gambling addict and usually this will carry over into his dreams. As for other signs of addiction that we can see in general (Can't stop) people who are addicted to gambling try to stop, but in the end they will bet more in the hope of getting more wins.

As we know, gambling always has a negative impact on every player, ranging from addiction, criminal acts such as stealing and so on. So one sign if they are addicted to gambling is when they place bets no longer just for fun, but those who are addicted usually place bets to relieve anxiety so as not to miss the moment.

Gamblin is really a problem for everyone who cant control themselves when they are already addicted to it, but first, how can we identify whether the person is a gambling addict or not, here are some of the reasons why can we call someone an addict to gambling.
1. Skipping meals
2. Not able to take a bath
3. Cannot spend time with their friends or family.
4. Skipping sleep.
5. Doin desperate things just to have money to gamble.

Always make sure that if you are going to gamble, you should play accordingly, do not spend all of your time on it and always be in control.

This is proof that a person who is addicted to gambling loses much more than financial balance, but also physical health and mental health.
As with all drugs, the more a person tries, the more addicted he becomes and it is difficult to notice that he is losing more and more.

I've been through it all, but wen I was 15 and playing Counter-Strike, my mom saved me by confiscating my computer Smiley
For a young person who still has parents who manage to impose limits or "pull" him back to reality it's easier, but... for an adult who is responsible for his own actions and isn't supervised by someone, help often comes late.
You are lucky your mom saved you by seeing you are in front of your computer almost all day long. Otherwise, you will be addicted deeper to that games and will not have a chance to set them free easily. Many young people are addicted to games, but they do not realize that and still playing those games.

It is almost the same as gambling addiction, no matter if he plays offline or online gambling. When he always come back to the place and play some games without thinking to stop after spending some time, he can become addicted in a short time. Or he has already become addicted to gambling without he knows.

I have my own thing to check is that if I can stay away for a week and not login to the gambling sites means I am doing well. As well since I do not just run or play to only make money and more to just have more fun and make few friends worldwide and know them etc just helps so that you are not really addicted or cannot stay away from it. If I decide today for next week I would not be login and can manage to do that means nothing to worry for me.

What do you do the moment you see the first alarm bells ringing with yourself as a person? I think a lot of people are very well aware that they are addicted, but simply don't want to give in to it or think they've just been unlucky.

All of these aren't applicable to all of the addicted gamblers out there but most of them are really the signs of it.
I see some addicted gamblers who still have some time to eat their meals (not on time though) and sleeping but only for a few hours.

In these 5, the real and one of the main signs of gambling addiction is that they are doing desperate or worse brutal things just to have money to use in gambling. Borrowing money from their relatives, doing everything that they need to just to have money to gamble. On the other hand though, there are still some addicted gamblers who can control themselves. Although there are few of them, they are addicted into gambling but they can still do everything that they need to do on a daily basis.

It can easily be said than done to get out of it immediately. That's where the struggle starts for the addicted gamblers, they barely get out of it by doing it alone.
And most of the time, they cannot distinguish that they're already in the addiction phase because they are in the denial stage.
You are not wrong, like when I was gambling, it stopped when it appeared to my family after losing a very huge amount belonging to my father, it was almost $3000. Before that time, I have lost large amount of money more than $10000. Though no family help but j know that it is high time I stopped for it not to affect my life because nothing good is coming out of the addiction. The best part will be to let people know, you family and friends so they can help you, especially family has a big role to play in this.

So I don't think that discussing gambling addiction with my parent is the best option for me to do. They would probably be very angry if they found out about my habit, and so far I won't tell them about it.
But the best is to never be addicted, this forum is all helping as we are discussing about it, for us not to be addicted, especially to hose that have not experienced it before.

What I noticed is that someone can be very addicted without his family knowing he is addicted to gambling, that is where the problem is, but this can easily be known for someone that knows his husband or children very well, the most common sign is when the husband or child will look at his phone or laptop and get moody from happy moment, if this occur frequently, it should have been known that online gambling is what that is affect the person. What the family can do is to be supportive, monitor the person and even very good to seek for medical intervention which will be very effective.
As a child, I actually felt quite embarrassed when my parent found out that I had become addicted to gambling. Despite the fact that sometime I can spend around $50-$100 a month on gambling, but I really don't want my parent to know about it. Gambling is an activity that is very synonymous with a bad habit in my country because the majority of us are Muslim. Gambling is prohibited in our religion and country, so I really had to hide it from my parent.

So I don't think that discussing gambling addiction with my parent is the best option for me to do. They would probably be very angry if they found out about my habit, and so far I won't tell them about it.

These can be very different reasons. This will certainly differ from person to person. What is normal for one person may already be a sign that more than normal gambling is going on for another. If you enter an addiction phase, you should try to get out of it as quickly as possible. Write down the symptons.

First of all, parents need to teach the child to trust them, and then the child will tell what he does when his parents are not around. This is quite a difficult task that needs to be solved from childhood. If you want your child to trust you, become his best friend.

Husband and wife also need to trust each other completely. If there is no trust between them, the family will not be able to cope with any real hardship.

Of course it happens that way. I know of cases where people with very severe alcoholism and drug addiction have returned to a normal life only thanks to their family. That is why we should not underestimate the role of family in the fight against gambling addiction. Also gaming addiction is much easier to treat than alcohol or drug addiction.

In order to put the family home on the line in a casino, one must completely lose control over his behavior - such a person is no longer capable of loving anyone. He must be sent to treatment immediately. By the way, many people resort to gambling precisely because of problems in family life or at work.

Good wives/husbands do not allow a family to break up because of any addictions of one family member. Such problems need to be solved together because a gambling addict is not able to cope alone. If the family is falling apart then it is likely that there are more serious problems within the family than gambling addiction.
Exactly! I don’t get why people state that gambling addiction ruins families so often, that says a lot about the willingness of family members to help each other overcome problems. In some cases, there can be alcohol or drug abusers, or people with psychiatric disorders, but you don’t abandon them for that, IMO it’s very wrong.
I will have to disagree, I have seen some instances of people getting addicted to alcohol and I have seen their family members fight to the best of their ability to keep the family intact, but if one of the family members is so dysfunctional then sometimes there is no other choice, this is not a decision that is taken lightly and it takes years to take form, after all the partner that is not addicted also has to think on the well-being of the rest of the family especially if there are kids involved, also sometimes that is the wake up call those that are addicted need to get out of addiction as they realize they have lost everything because of it.

Basically, something that keeps their family intact is love and also the family's patience to deal with addiction problems from one of their family members, they or families who are broken because of addiction are those who do not have patience and a high sense of love. The simple thing is that an addict has basically ruined the family name and if the family doesn't accept it then of course, the family can leave that one person even though he is a family member and cases like this are also common.

Love shouldn't be the all overarching shadow for anything. Respect, support, acceptance and patience are important. Whether there is love involved or not doesn't matter that much. Rejection is bad. But there is a limit to everything. Imagine you were a wife to a guy who is extremely addicted and loses even the house because of gambling. How much is love worth then if you are a mother of three and your husband just put your house on the table in a casino? At some point hard action is required and sometimes that is even the most helpful measure for the addicted themselves. It helps them facing reality and getting their mind straight, or not... With the end result possibly being anything from recovery to death.

the point of thinking the family sake first before giving up with someone who are suffering with this addiction,

Natural affections and the willingness to continue understanding and fighting for someone you truly love, there are cases that we seen this kind of family concerns, instead of letting the person down they will try everything to help it.

Showing love and true care for the sake of resolving this issue inside.

Gamblers who are suffering if they see this kind of affections, they will try to fight and win this to resolve the problem, most success cases is by the help of their love ones.
