To all the participants who have done the best design, I want to say that you have extraordinary artistry. I really appreciate the sinbad.io avatar designs you made, including @icalical.

Of all the entries, there are two avatar entries that I like in this contest which were made by bitmover and xLays, although bitmover was not included in the list of shortlisted participants. Of course I have a different review of the two.

1. Design courtesy of bitmover (picture number 3)

https://talkimg.com/images/2023/08/07/GkMJm.png
Overall good in my opinion. The logo looks lively, but a little long.

2. Design courtesy of xLays. (picture number 2)

https://talkimg.com/images/2023/08/15/MUb3H.png
It's almost perfect because when combined with the update of the sinbad.io website, the avatar created by xLays really blends in.
It would be even more perfect if the logo was placed in the middle position above the writing sinbad.io

Conclusion.
If I'm in the team as the party that has the decision to require an avatar without a background, I will choose this avatar with the note that Bitmover's avatar must remove the background.
If the team agrees in assessing the avatar without any specific provisions, then my choice is the xLays avatar with a note that the logo is moved to the middle position above the words SINBAD.IO

@Icalical's 3rd entry is my best pick of all his entries, it's an affront to the current avatar schemes so I like something refreshing to look at although I hope he can sharpen the colors a bit or balance the background and the text

@PX-Z 1st entry is my best pick of all his entries, the one bit vibes is awesome, the pirate theme is strong especially with the worn out flag design.

@xLays have the same feels as my pick on PX-Z entry, although I would like more changes since it's almost the same as the current avatar.

I don't feel like picking any from @tjtonmoy's entry, the 1st entry is similar vibes to the current avatar but the color scheme of neon seems not in the direction of the brand.

@SamReomo's 2nd entry is my kind of style although I would love it if the Jolly Roger is a bit bigger than the lock and utilize the negative spaces more or at least lessen it.

@cafter's 2nd and 3rd entry is my pick, the 2nd has the simplistic design but still slick looking, good color scheme too although I don't know if that's fine with the brand, 3rd entry looks like your typical campaign avatar, can never go wrong with that.

If I were to have a Top 3 I would probably go 1st with @cafter's 3rd entry, SamReomo's @2nd entry would be the 2nd, and @PX-Z's 1st entry would be my 3rd.

As I've commented before, I think Avatar should follow the line of the site, to build a brand that clearly identifies SINBAD. If avatars are used that do not follow the same graphic image of the site, it becomes more difficult to build that brand. But, this is of course just my opinion.

That said, and looking only at the six options chosen, I would say that the one closest to my opinion is this one:

Farewell, Leo. You will be missed!
I am personally not a big fan of avatars resembling flags. That, therefore, excludes some of the shortlisted participants.
From those that remain, I like the following two the most.

- The third entry by cafter.
- The second creation by xLays with one suggested modification. I would prefer if the skull & swords image would take central position. The horizontal line could be made smaller and moved further to the right.

Best of luck to the other 5 contestants! Creative work will surely stand out.

Anyway, I'm wearing one of my Avatar design since I'm not joining any avatar campaign right now. Just to showcase how it actually looks like when someone is wearing it.

I am not really sold on any of them, I like simple yet striking avatars preferably without background. Maybe something like cafter pirate hat but that one is not in contention.

PX-Z flag is good but I would remove "protect your privacy" text and enlarge the actual picture on avatar. Seems way too cluttered as it is now.

Cheers,

So, two participants with two avatars for each of them? I am liking:

icalical's pirate flag and treasure map entry, and cafter's pirate hat from first and third image of entry number 1 PX-Z's flag for the reason that I shared with examplens, I liked and always think avatar without background [i.e. not square] is neat.

Edit: Sorry, I understand correctly that our votes are limited to the ones you mark in red square? Thus, cafter's avatar will be from his third entry? On that case, I am revising my vote to PX-Z's set number 1. Though if I may give my two cents without disrespecting your choice, cafter's hat is also nice

I personally think it doesn't sound good [me and my own opinion, of course]. If a session needs a manual termination button, there's a chance someone forgot to click the button, and thus, one step backward from privacy [as explained by examplens and bhadz]. If dev wants to venture into an option to manually terminate a session, I think it'll be better to reverse the proposed idea; instead of having the manual termination button by default, dev add a check mark to allow people to keep the session longer or until they pressed the termination button. Otherwise, the sessions will end like always.

Not sure about the implications behind this, though. Wouldn't it mean sinbad has to keep a log [albeit selectively] to cater this idea? I can imagine some people will not welcome this idea.
Yes, that's a good idea by having that feature and it's just like an expiration if ever the user forgots to do that and the devs don't have anything to do with it. The session can be ended on an instant based on the user's discretion and if not, it is automatically gone based on the set period of time.

I'll use this chance to re-emphasize that I personally think it's not a good idea. Having a possibility to manually terminate a session by preference implies that Sinbad keep a log of user's transaction. Be it due to the user's request and preference or not, it's a step back from the anonimity that supposed to be offered by a mixer. It'll be a very great assurance to anyone that the platform --any mixer platform-- does not keep a log longer than it needed to be [that is, until the transaction is finished].

Yes, what you say, technically it is right. Mine is just an old habit of the "destroy this session" button
Maybe that suggestion will be heard from you if you want it to be valid a little bit longer. But as explained, it has something to do with the users privacy and sinbad don't take those information as it's part of the mixing service. But let's see if that sounds good for the devs.

I always like avatars without a background, i.e. avatars that are not square. That's why my choice would be PX-Z or icalical pirate flag
The flag is very similar to the current avatar design. The skull looks identical and so does the Sinbad.io text. The background color is a bit darker. But the "protecting your privacy" part is too small for my old eyes and taste.

Again, leaving a log with any data is in complete contradiction to what the mixer offers and what is the basic purpose of such a service. It is certain that many would not be happy with such an idea. The good functionality of a service is reflected in its simplicity and the fact that the end user cannot make a mistake or overlook something. By introducing an additional action such as manually deleting the log, the matter is unnecessarily complicated. Plus, I believe that most users would not return to delete the log after the transaction is complete.
I completely agree with you here. As long as the session has finished, I don't mind if Sinbad deletes the entire history. I would welcome it. And I really hope they do and not that some logs are kept on a server somewhere that no one knows about.

Have you guys checked out the designs that the Bitcointalk members created for the Sinbad avatar campaign that was brought to an end 2 days ago? There are many really good looking creations there, and picking a winner won't be easy.

Among the designs, I particularly liked bitmover's avatars. I also have my eyes on SamReomo's red-hat-wearing pirate from his second entry. cafter's third design from the third entry looks nice.
Who do you think will win?

I always like avatars without a background, i.e. avatars that are not square. That's why my choice would be PX-Z or icalical pirate flag, or even cafter pirate hat.
However, if it is not insisted that the avatar is in accordance with the new website design, Woodie and bitmover entries look great and can certainly be a good choice.

Yeah, i have been visiting that thread from time to time and i am impressed by the quality of the designs that have been created for the Avatar contest, it is going to be difficult for the Sinbad management to pick a winner, because even though we didn't get too many contestants; many of the submitted entries are very good.

I like Woodie's first entry and also the design of PX-Z, but goodluck to everyone.

I loved icalical's and PX-Z's first design, the pixelated ones, purely because it matched the current retro-pixelated theme of the site

I did that shortly after examplens reminded me about the SINBAD.IO MIXER August Price Prediction Challenge in this thread.

So, if you win a prize, I can expect at least one beer from you  Grin
If my prediction is right, I will be happy to accompany you to drink beer. But I don't drink Grin
What if I give you something other than beer?

The price prediction that I sent here seems to have missed. But I'm sure with the price guess at the end of August Grin

Done with my second prediction I also created a thread in my local board inviting my fellows to join to get more awareness of this contest.

Bitcoin Price Prediction
I also did it on August 12th on a local board to let them know that sinbad.io is providing a bitcoin price challenge prediction for August, given that people's interest in speculating prices is very active on the forums. So I think it would be great if it was followed to test the level of luck in analyzing the price of bitcoin will end at what price level.

Here he is, Bitcoin Price Prediction.
