Correct, if you want 1900+ h/s then you need windows 10 + blockchain drivers., and a lot of finessing.

Check the Vega threads , it is very easy to make a batch file to disable and enable the cards on startup, HBCC isnt the factor boosting the Hash rate , it is a driver bug where you need to disable and enable the GPU and that is exactly what HBCC does . ,Better use a Mobo with Built in GPU and use a Dummy plug for screen on all the time . the only thing i am having problem with is that with every crash i need to re-adjust wattman settings .

As for power draw, this is taken from Hellae's reddit guide;

VEGA 56 with Stock bios: Target objective: 1800H/s @ 160W per GPU.

VEGA 64 / VEGA 56 with VEGA 64 bios: Target objective: 1920H/s @ ~130W per V56.

4gb is sufficient. the HBCC issue, you can just disable and reenable cards in device manager. No need to toggle HBCC.

I am a tinkerer kind of guy and have already pulled the trigger on 4*Vega56
It seems like I need to add;
* 4 risers
* PSU
* 120GB ssd for the virtual mem stuff.
* HDMI ghost dongle
* May need more RAM

If the ram requirements renders my 12 Y.O. PC unsuitable, I'll have to source another. But happy to diversify coins / algos in any case.

oh man i feel like a dumbass.......
Someone nicely PM'd me, have you ever tried pressing the button on the board?.....

So i went out and dug out all the parts back out, assembled it quickly on the desk... powered it up.. nothing like i have been dealing with... pressed the little button, immediately everything stops moving, starts moving again and i hear my first audible beep to date...

Now im just waiting to see if its going to boot into windows on the go... been saying getting ready for a while....

I know you're not a fortune teller but do you think 2018 will be simialr to 2017 as far as btc increase ?

There is only 1 way to find out...

@martyroz -- since you have a few GPU rigs already.... if I am in your shoes.... try get L3+ or S9s -- diversify your mining operations with ASICs so that you can maximize the spectrum of profitable coins.
