Hi there,
I'm new here.
I have read: there al 100,000,000 coins. Price is now about $1,00.
So the value is in fact 100,000,000 USD ?
Hi, Im new also.
100,000,000 Sky is the maximum amount that will ever exist.
Of that amount, 25,000,000 are available to be distributed at this time. The official statement in the Skycoin blog is a bit outdated now that OTC passthrough is being implemented, OTC purchased Skycoin will be purchased by bots on exchanges.
The vast majority of remaining Skycoin will be distributed to those supporting the network by running Skyminers. These can be ordered by joining the mailing list on
https://www.skycoin.net/ or built as described in guides found at
https://skywug.net/forum/index.php.
After the first 25,000,000 coins are distributed, the remaining 75,000,000 will be unlocked for distribution at a rate of 5,000,000 per year. The entire distribution process will take place over a period of between 14 and 25 years.
Current price of Skycoin is $11.62 and The market cap is $89,714,407 based on a circulating supply of 7,719,294 Skycoin. However problematic market cap is for evaluating the price of a coin, it is meaningless to try and take into account the maximum supply, especially since it will not be reached for 14-25 years.
Yes, the video is really interesting! By the way, as far as I remember Synth didn't show his face on video before, there was always a black screen. He decided to become a public person or finally bought a webcam?
Yeah, I watched that one also. Watched all of em. It is an ambitious project, but the project is not like any of the ICOs out there. Skycoin has been in development for much longer and has not compromised in its design by adopting inferior preexisting technology.
Lots of people are excited by the scalability features of Skycoin especially since the effects of scalability limitations on Bitcoin and Ethereum have been experienced by gen pop, but I am really excited about the Obelisk consensus algorithm because that removes the block reward, replacing it with a reward for people who contribute machine resources to the network. This will stimulate infrastructure and community growth while eliminating conflicts of interest that plague POW consensus today, and will plague DPOS in the future.
