Thanks for the explanations, but it turns out that for a wager, the presence of a convenient minimum bet does not greatly affect the final result, because there is no difference in making 100 dollar bets or 1000 bets of $0.1 from the point of view of wagering. There is a difference only in the variance i.e. on a larger number of bets, we will get the value closest to the RTP. And yes, we won’t be able to “wind up” a lot wager for competition with our 100 dollars, and any whale will win it from us.
If you are going to wager as much as possible with slot games, min bet does affect the result.
Simple example, you have starting balance of $100 and you want to wager $10k.
The chance to reach the goal is better if you bet smaller lets say 0.1-0.2 than betting bigger amount like $5-$10.
Real example, I participated in a contest some time ago and I made 200k bets with $0.01 bet means I have wagered $2,000 while I started it with less than $50.
I believe I wont reach $2,000 wager if I bet more than $0.5 per spin as I may lose my initial bankroll sooner.
However if the main purpose is to compete wagering contest, it is obvious that small bets wont have chance to win but I think the main idea from ralle14 is about how to wager much with less risk of losing much.
