Temporarily locking the thread while I review posts (unless I can't edit while locked) to see if I will have enough merit to keep this going. I am running very low again, so we will either go on a temporary shutdown, or I will begin my "to-merit" list, which I am surprised I haven't had to start up until now. There are a few members that volunteered, like monbux, to throw their merit so we'll see how it goes. Expect reviews of all posts to be done within the next 2-hours or so.

isomoyes, the point you are missing here, my friend, is that these are essentially opinions. And, as they say, opinions are like a**holes, everyone's got one.
If there is a particular aspect of Bitcoin that interests you then research, understand and incorporate that in your posts.
Can I also add... that being post #300 in a thread means that the value of your contribution is very likely going to be close to zero. Roll Eyes

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.31489124
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.32376412

or post #572!!?! Shocked Roll Eyes
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.32385899

In all honesty, your chances of getting any merit for posting in these types of threads is practically nil.

This on the other hand... https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.32152502

Shows that the poster has actually put some sort of effort in... they've found what is potentially a very useful resource (eBook + assignments + video lectures), and taken the time to share with other users so they can explore and learn. +1 merit from me fxstrike!

I also appreciate what cheefbuza has done here: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.32344326

Not only found some decent crypto twitter accounts, but actually put some effort into providing some background info and commentary on WHY they consider them to be worthwhile to follow... thats a +1 from me!

Bill, I hope you don't mind me drive-by commenting in this Sisyphean project/thread that you have created here, but I have a few points up for grabs for low post count members.
I randomly looked at these

Just an example, your shopping post.
Where do you live?
Do a bit of research locally, find where and who accepts Bitcoin, ask them about it. If they don't, why not?
Add to the sum of knowledge here.

Doing a bit of pre-formating, and pre-screening. This way I'll be able to delete the nonsense spam comments, reply to those with a genuine post, review submissions and get this moving in an orderly fashion. This also gives you guys the chance to check back on the post with your submissions in it, so that you're able to know where it will be reviewed. I will try to do this in real time from now on, that way people know where to check to see if they've been reviewed. It will make following one of the rules easier, for sure.

Hey Bill...

Firstly, Forgive the intrusion... but Apparently I have some "spare" sMerit... However, I'm not really finding many posts worthy except for usual suspects like DannyH, achow101, nullius etc. Having said that, I do have a relatively limited subset of boards that I tend to follow.

I was thinking of starting a thread similar to yours... but then figured there was no point "doubling up"... and decided it would probably just be counter-productive and lead to "merit review spamming" from the lower ranks looking for extra merit. Call me cynical Tongue

Anyway, I'd like to help out... so if you find some worthy posts but have run out of sMerit, drop me a PM with the candidates you think deserve some (extra?) merit and I'll see what I can do Wink

Note to everyone else: DO NOT PM me looking for merit... anyone who does so will NEVER receive merit from me... EVER! If you think your post is worthy, post it here according to Bill's rules!

I do not see this as an intrusion whatsoever. I actually greatly appreciate it, because there are a couple of users like yourself that are high ranking with a lot of merit that have offered to help it where they can. This is going to be extremely useful from now on, because I'm thinking of utilizing you guys very soon. I'm just about out of merit, so you, philipma1957 and monbux (am I forgetting someone?) can expect PMs from me soon about posts I believe deserve a merit. Thank you very much.

I am going through these now, but I have something that might interrupt; regardless I will be going through these throughout today.

You've broken the rules by submitting multiple times before I got to review your original submission, therefore I am not even looking at any of the posts you've submitted. Feel free to resubmit after you've read the rules.

These are all formatted incorrectly and therefore I don't know which posts you're trying to direct me at. Feel free to resubmit after you understand the formatting rules.

You've broken formatting rules so I won't be going through your posts. I appreciate the suggestions, but please if you're posting a link make sure it is the ONLY thing on that line. All the extra text and tags just give me a headache and take extra time to go through that I don't have to spare.

You have also broken a link formatting rule, but feel free to resubmit your posts after you read the rules.

This entire post was all people breaking the rules, c'mon guys.

Taking a short break, might be an hour or two, something like that. When I get back, I will finish going through Pages 9 & 10 to finish off everyone's submissions currently in the queue. I was thinking I would run out of merit by the end of this round, but I guess the ratio of Merit:Terrible is way out of whack.

Currently going through pages 5-10 and I am blowing through them much quicker than I had thought I would. There are much fewer posts to actually be considered than normal. Most submissions break multiple rules, or just submit their spammy mega-thread posts that they believe to be substantial. Anyways, there is only about 1-full page of submissions to go through now, will finish within a few hours.

Your generic criteria for selecting a Pump and Dump is not of interest to me or anybody else to be taken seriously around here. I seem to be throwing around the word "generic" quite a bit lately, but that seems to be most of what I am being submitted.

This post/thread has been deleted. I can't review a deleted thread.

The way this link is formatted is in violation of my Local-Rule. Feel free to resubmit your post after reading the rules thoroughly.

More ICO nonsense that I am not interested in meriting. Your posts do not add anything to the discussion or conversation. I will not be meriting any of these posts at this time.

1500th+ reply in a mega-thread and you're mostly just going back and forth in conversation with another user. This is not something I will be meriting.
