What crypto in particular is that useful to him and at the same time easier to understand than Bitcoin? ETH with its gas and smart contracts? I don't think so.

If you have trouble understanding Bitcoin you will also have trouble with any other cryptocurrencies.
Millions of people around the world know how bitcoin works. If you don't understand it maybe there's something wrong with you.

Few people are interested in this, no one needs philosophy. Everyone thinks about profit, this is the main reason why people are here.

Some just want an easy money and once they didn't get it in crypto or bitcoin, they just left as if it's not really worthy. I'd been mentioning bitcoin to many friends but none yet were really taking it seriously. They didn't buy or hold or give a care since they just want something which they can already see and use. Lucky us here in forum we were able to take advantage of these time bitcoin and other crypto are good to invest and have with.

Cryptocurrencies can also be called digital currencies and they include Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin and so on, that is to say, Bitcoin is a cryptocurrency. However, in the crypto space, Bitcoin being the first cryptocurrency is called a coin (I.e stands on its own), while other cryptocurrencies from Ethereum downwards are regarded as Altcoins or Alternative coins. Therefore, saying crypto will be useful also encompasses Bitcoin, also it is wise to understand that, this usefulness in question doesn't include all cryptocurrencies rather only those with good use case.
In addition, in my own opinion, Bitcoin is very valuable, and something can not be valuable if it is not useful. Also, Bitcoin is actually the easiest to understand; peer-to-peer transactions started with it, decentralization started with it , in fact it laid down the path through which many platforms and/or coins are following now.

You are right, even warren buffett was once confused about bitcoin until he later have good understanding about the digital currency, give the SoftBank CEO some time I'm sure he will change his mind after clearly understanding about bitcoin, he isn't the first and he won't be the last either.

wealth does not guarantee that someone understands everything, in this case, Buffett and Soft bank CEO have the same problem about fully understanding what Bitcoin is. just wait until he understands and understands what Bitcoin is, maybe he will change his mind.

Maybe there are few newbies who find it hard to understand bitcoin initially but they soon learn about it as it is not difficult at all. However, other this forum, there are many people whom i met daily who never understand bitcoin even if i try to explain them. Sad

Cryptocurrency is a digital currency that involves Bitcoin and Altcoin, but the Cryptocurrency market is more dominated by Bitcoin, so I agree with you without Bitcoin then Cryptocurrency is nothing, therefore if people want to invest in Cryptocurrency then they must believe in Bitcoin too, because in my opinion for now Bitcoin is the king of Cryptocurrency, so if Bitcoin dies then I'm sure all Altcoin will also die (can't survive).

I wouldn't worry so much about these people. There will always be critics who just don't understand the crypto world. For me and most other people if we speak about cryptos we have a lot of other coins in mind. But people who have no understanding the will say crypto world = bitcoins. We don't need these negative people, Bitcoin is close to 19.000 USD. That should convince everybody otherwise.

The main reason is every banker/finance professional hear bitcoin the very first time, not blockchain. So, they will try to define/understand cryptocurrencies as Bitcoin. The price of Bitcoin is something people are falling a trap into. Now when they come in contact with Bitcoin? During bull market. And, they loose their money and blame entire crypto space (blockchain indirectly) being a bubble. Now even if you try to explain blockchain from the beginning, they won't understand at all. Why is that to? They have stopped exploring creative/new because of being in finance space where they literally don't do anything new in routine.

This was my personal experience as 2-3 of my friends and a brother is a banker and when I try to explain blockchain - they don't take advantages from what I explain. They find cons right away and demolish the idea of blockchain every single time. In fact, they advice me to stay away from any kind of cryptocurrency, being professional bankers. I literally laugh inside when they tell me that you won't understand such bubbles - our entire lives evolve around finance and we kind of know everything having faced 2008 crisis.

Crypto can survive without bitcoin, I believe that's what the CEO is referring to but he still lacks the real existence of Bitcoin that's why he is confused, the reason why Avalanche project caught my attention was because of the team existence before bitcoin was released by Nakamoto, there are few projects before bitcoin too, it means that Avalanche team have high level experience about blockchain

Bitcoin is a type of cryptocurrency. Other cryptocurrencies will exist with or without BTC, Blockchain is what important for cryptocurrency. Without it, There will be no cryptocurrency at all. If you can drop the link of the article for the source of your thread, We can easily discuss what you are really talking about. I'm sure that the CEO in to some characteristics of BTC like price volatility and not BTC in general.
