Two of my SPACE nodes died yesterday upon receiving block # 1405731 at ~09/01/18 03:27 GMT.

Seeing my network connections now down from ~25 to ~6 I suspect this happened to others as well.
Spacecoin explorer stopped working around the same time.

That block # 1405731 seems now accepted in the chain and I wonder what might have caused the nodes to stop/crash. If this is reproducable it could be nicely abused to DoS the SPACE network.

Not sure why the nodes dropped off.
Mine where down yesterday but it is usually attributed to spectrums internet service going down or just acting flaky.

I do not believe that this was coincidence. Cryptopia's wallet is down too (though can't say if that is since the same point in time):

My spacewallet on cryptopia looks good. (ahh I also see no connections now/)My wallet is showing 12 active nodes. I have forwarded this info to midnight miner to see if he can make some sense of it.

Also both of my nodes are in different locations, on different networks with redundant uplinks and both's debug.log ends exactly with the same line:

The project has very high development potential. we see from it. But the strategy is very limited. Teams need more advertising.

Here is a nice website to get coin info from. Never seen the amount of information on a coin website before. Very nice!
https://coincheckup.com/coins/spacecoin

This is not your site? With the speed of updates, many now have a problem in the end, only the best projects go to newsfeeds in this type of sites.

I did not find any working pool. Does the POW still work?

You should be able to mine spacecoin over at prohashing:

I think the community should put some work too in reviewing and helping to spread the word. We cannot just wait and let the devs with all the work.

Good news! The cryptopia SpaceCoin wallet is out of maintenance mode and working again. Trade SpaceCoin at https://www.cryptopia.co.nz, yobit.net and novaexchange.com

Be careful. I have sent my node list to Cryptopia about 10 days ago and they took the wallet out of maintenance, though it is still unsynched and still has 0 connections:

That means you will not be able to deposit until the wallet has connections and has finished synching.

Problem is there is currently only one (!) listening node in the network as I see it, if somebody can sponsor a public node that would certainly improve the overall situation.

This is what I get when I send coin. "Status: 5/unconfirmed, broadcast through 16 nodes"

block explorer shows 24 connections

What needs to be done to "sponsor a public node" ? I thought staking the wallet provided enough nodes. What are we paying these people for? !LOL

I stand corrected, my node shows currently 25 connections of which 4 are listening (public) nodes. That should do it, though more listening nodes would be nice.
For a public node you either have to forward tcp port 9172 to the ip of the computer where your spacecoin wallet runs or run it on a public ip straight away.

Cryptopia seems still to be stuck on block 0...
