It is written in the Bible,

Quote
“No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and moneywill not

https://www.bible.com/bible/compare/MAT.6.24-26

So there is no connection between gambling and spirituality it's just a front to justify that he is doing the right thing, only compulsive gamblers will do this they want to involve God so people will not look down on them.

Religious groups will not tolerate excessive gambling with their client because they know that gambling will lead you astray from your belief because you cannot serve two masters at the same time.

Now, my question is, does God play a part in our gambling activities? Do you think how much faith or not, we have in God (or whatever we serve as a God) has anything to do with how much we win or lose in sports betting and gambling in general?
No i don't, but that a different question than the topic.

Gambling definitely has a connection with spirituality, but most believers thinks that God doesn't get involved. In the past most organized religions have always frowned on gambling, and see it as a sin, or a form of theft. Or just a wrong kind of path. So asking a winning bet would be like asking be better at sinning against Church teachings.

Idea of bothering monotheistic all seeing God by giving winning bets by asking is absurd to me, but it doesn't really differ from magical thinking where you believe you can affect to outcome by hitting buttons in right order or wearing a lucky shirt or something like that.

But surely people ask favors from gods and spirits all the time, gambling is just another favor. And in Hindu religion for example, there are several gods of luck to ask from.

But if i go to back your original question, i believe in probability, and scientific method, so i don't see any reason why God or any other being would change your outcome no matter how religious you are and how much you ask.

Not sure if there are relation though you are correct that the creator of the picture is a gambler that wanted to be saved and gives Him/Her luck in every betting.

But me personally ? i don't think that God will interfere in our gambling activities or even if? maybe losses will be our prize because this is against the Bible(according to my understanding)

Gambling is somewhat not bad for me if you are not taking any money from others and not abandoning your obligation in your family we are safe to gamble..

I think when we are gambling, we will not remember God. When we win, we also don't remember God even though God allows us to win. And when we lose, then we remember God and say that God is unfair by letting us lose.

We are unfair to God because we often forget God in any case. And when we experience difficulties, we remember God and complain about all the difficulties we face. So whatever we do, it is related to God but we don't realize it or don't want to know about it and even reject it.

But if there are people like that, we can't blame them either. It's up to him and we also definitely have something different with him.

This is hilarious! Church is strongly opposing any type of gambling while the Bible itself is being use by the church as reference with their faith. Although there's no exact mention about gambling in the bible, it's still greediness anyone playing gambling becomes greedy at some point of their game that result to destroy their lives.

But God works in mysterious ways! Maybe some lucky players is indeed being supported by the God to win and help the needy.  Wink
Well, needless say that you last point may make some sense after all.
Personally, I agree with you that the Bible has no mention of gambling, and neither does the Bible anywhere specifically say that gambling or betting is a sinful act amongst Christians, though I know that the Koran do condemn gambling amongst Muslims, but still, we have alot of Muslims who are gamblers regardless.

Coming back to your last part of your comment, think of it this way, there are several charms, voodoo or whatever it's called in what ever part of the world were each of us live, there are charms believed to help gamblers win their bets, most especially in the area of lottery and other pure luck based games, and I personally do not know but this fetish stuffs seems to sometimes work for some people.
If the devil can indeed make people win gambling or betting, isnt it wrong to believe that God also cannot do the same and even much more?

This kind of thing is like belief or suggestion that arises from gambler who really wants to win so he thinks about asking god for help or something else that he believes can grant his wish.
But in reality things like this will never achieve anything especially in gambling.

It seems that if I not mistaken there was thread that was almost similar to this which related to belief in mystical things to win at gambling.

Some people believe in that kind of thing but there are also some people who don't believe it and even think that asking for victory in that way is stupid thing that doesn't need to be done.
I personally would never do it and lead god to the desire to gamble because all of that is the opposite of positive thing.

Another ridiculous topic.

Spiritual doesn't have any connection to betting, but if you're someone who take care of a player before the match begin, it do have a connection. If you're a chef which your job is to serve foods to the player, you can give drug or poison into the foods and the player will not able to play as good as he was. You can bet on his opponent and make money from it.

There is no deep religious man that will advise you to gamble because to so many people it is like a waste of funds and the they understand that sometimes, you can pay for yourself to be entertained. Please when we are talking about gambling let us not involve God in it, because gambling is based on luck and not spirituality.

You are right when it comes to the practical Christian and the followers of Christianity and not only Christianity but other religions like Muslim. The reason is that gambling is a factor that can lead you to sinful nature, it addiction is discouraged because you might even introduce it to the church. Most of the christian men that I secretly see that gamble do it in secret, they don't want to allow their wives and other people know perhaps they understand it is against the religious faith. So they secretly do it like other secret sins people do because of flesh. I guess that is why they pray against secret sin.

The buttom line is that most people understand that the bible condemns the love of money even though it didn't condemn money but the love of it. It also warm against get rich quick scheme like money doubler which is same as Ponzi and gambling being part of it.

I have seen too many voodoo practitioners failing even when they are so sure that the outcome will be the way they predicted, even witches do fail too, it shows that they are not the master of time and the future, the almighty is one and no man or gods possessed the same power.

Gambling can easily wreck havoc on humans that's why Jesus never likes gambling, it's a sin because it messed people up, if you say no it's because you don't cherish yourself as a temple of God, maybe because you have used your body to your own taste so you don't care, gambling makes you less religious because you start believing in something else, or even probably nothing.

You can't be religious and be a gambler at the same times the more I think about this the more it makes a lot of sense, you can try it too, unless you don't just have the knowledge and understanding, nobody owns tomorrow, stop trying to be a god like, you will fail miserably.

The possibility of what gambling can cause is what I am most feared of, I guess that's why in the Bible the son of God was against it, gambling easily leads to losing yourself and losing yourself easily leads to making bad decisions, and this comes with lots of sins, you are in debt and under pressure, you will likely do anything to pay back the money.

God is great
[1. He or she wants God to get involved in his or her betting and make him or her win  Grin.
2. Protection so that no evil will make him loss beta unnecessarily, since we Christians believe that the word of God protects, and we all know that the word of God is contained in the Bible.
Gambling winning gambling is by luck and maybe by experience that one already has. But I don't think being spiritual have any connectivity  to do with gambling,  God is not interested how people play gambling.  But if people choose to pray before playing bet it up to them, they have the believe that their player can work for them.

What am trying say committing gambling games into God's hands to achieve victory is ineffective,  people can only gambling as a result of luck and not by miracles.

Well some people might have their Bible app alongside gambling apps because it's their way of finding balance. It looks funny to be honest. It's like having a reminder of their beliefs while engaging in something that might seem contradictory or to make him luckier in his bets? People are just unique in how they handle things, right? People’s faith in God varies from person to person like it's a super personal thing that everyone sees differently.

The picture made me laugh out loud, how he tried to protect his gambling app by placing it in the middle of the bible app, and he knew how to do it by downloading several versions of the bible.
I am sure that God will not be involved in his gambling to protect him from losing. I am actually quite sure that he has lost his mind by gambling and hopes that God will involved in giving him victory.
Did he not consult his pastor about his thought pattern which was quite destructive?
Even though he prays very fervently and diligently, God will not fulfill his fleshly desires by giving him victory. Hopefully, if he is someone you know, you can wake him up from his chaotic thought patterns.

In all three major religions including Christianity which I am also part of God has forbidden gambling as they say in the Holy Bible, there is only little benefit in gambling and a lot of damage for the good life of such wrongdoer. That is why no matter that the guy who did that picture is a good Christian who wants to bet and win I am afraid God won't help him just like God won't help any of us who pretend to be good Christians and on the other side online where no one knows us we involve in an illegal activity like gambling is in our religion.I think that picture is mostly for fun and a wrong fun because you cannot make fun of the religion holy book if you are a believer.
First, let me say that I do agree that who ever put those apps together as it is in the picture, it's nothing but for fun, but coming back to the issue of whether gambling is a sin or not, the Bible or let me say the word of God does not explicitly say that gambling is a sin, but I know that God condemns and disapproves Christians from participating in programs that involves quick money schemes.

And personally, I do not consider gambling as a quick way to make money since it mostly involves luck, someone who is not lucky wil or may gamble for a long time and not win a dime, but someone who is lucky will do gamble and win in less time..

So overall, I personally think gambling is not a straight sin before God, but how we go about it and how we allow it affect us in terms of negativity, is what makes it a sin for us.

I don't think that a spiritual assignment or power can make you to win gambling and if it's so I think that gambling nobody would have missed to win in the gambling, because almost every body will go to a spiritual store to buy items and perform rituals before betting  of any kind in a different gambling websites, the connection between gambling and spiritual connections is very far, a gambling is something you have knowledge of and it means that you assume that this thing will be in this form and you are not sure of that, so for you win its by luck and some insights you already have on it.

Another thing to note is that most religions do not encourage gambling and some may strictly prohibited gambling and betting, so in that case, no one can use spiritual powers to gain an edge in gambling.

In most religions, in order to gain Spirituality, people may pray or worship and ask for divine help from nature, but when something is not allowed in religion, how can anyone ask such a thing from their god? Prayers do make your cause easy but you can only ask god to help you in those things which are not forbidden by religion.

So, in my opinion, when you gamble or bet, you are going against Spirituality and maybe that's why we lose more often than we win  Huh

But still some gambler still seeking a help to win through their hope, faith and prayers. I know some people think that gambling is an immoral habit because they believe that this is one of the factors why there's so many people become self-loathing and addictive. While some studies have found religious belief to be positively associated with gambling fallacies, others have found it to be a protective factor from gambling harms. Well, this is a complex and broad topic, it's a quite difficult to discuss since we have different beliefs in life.

Is betting/gambling for fun something good or bad?
I don't think there is a connection between the two things... morale, sins etc are stuffs of the past...

Spirituality covers everything and does not exclude even small activities, but here what I observe is very much related to religion and beliefs. If we use it to talk about spirituality, I think many people who are not religious will misunderstand a lot about spirituality. First of all, to have a more objective view, I admit that I am a person who has researched spirituality and I have researched almost every major religion in the world, so if there is anything wrong, I hope will receive valuable feedback.

I confidently assert that God will not direct people to develop greed and confusion in all activities in life. As far as I know, this religious belief promotes love and compassion in each person, and usually few people will know about it and understand the profound ideas that appear in scriptures. Especially today, the issue of religion is accepted by the new world as a prejudice about the ignorance of believers and they believe in the logic of science more than the miracles that come from spirituality.

As small as the story of human survival since birth is programmed with ideology from the previous generation, doubt and no belief in religion later but human wishes are not met. And if we are still stuck in the material story, it will be difficult to access spiritual truths, so actually that element of luck comes from ourselves, I know about many invisible laws that exist. exist in life like the law of balance, and the law of attraction,... so I know that luck or failure are not natural, they all have causes that we cannot see.

Nowadays, there are things that science cannot answer and they turn to search for answers through many different cultures, especially the East, where spiritual matters are considered to have many secrets hidden. Previously, I accidentally learned some interesting stories about the great minds of the generation of 20th century scientists. Behind many achievements, there is a mystery about spirituality, and anyone If they have ever learned about Buddhism, I believe they will all have insights into the life of limited knowledge that we currently know. It can be said that it is a religion that is many times more advanced in every aspect social perspectives, science and technology, and even when talking about knowledge in Buddhism have made the understanding of the universe that people know really too narrow.

TBH, I dont really understand whether in other religions gambling is considered to be against the rules or not, but in my religion gambling is prohibited, but still the important role of regulating luck or unlucky days has been regulated by God, so if you ask about this, I answer, yes, God. always there to regulate our luck or loss.

but what makes me a little confused is whether it is appropriate for us as God people who have forbidden us to gamble but we pray for good luck to him? TBH, I am a little confused by this question because I not associate spirituality with gambling because this is just entertainment and if I am lucky its God role in giving me luck.

A Christian and a gambler—quite the mix, don't you think? Now, onto the meaty part of your question: does God play a part in our gambling activities? Well, well, well..

Many people hold the religious belief that there is a purpose for each and every one of us. But does the result of a sports wager figure into that plan? Isn't that a million-dollar question? In uncertain times, a lot of people, a lot of people, turn to their faith. They look for direction, safety, and perhaps a little bit of luck. The problem is that gambling is inherently unpredictable. It's a chance game, and chances are just that—chances

But religion is a very powerful thing these days. They say it can move mountains. Can it, however, change the odds to your favor? That's up for debate. There are others who contend that having faith can increase confidence, and that confidence can occasionally result in making better decisions. Does it, however, ensure victory? Most likely not, most likely not
