For better understanding, let me first explain the picture above
From the picture above, we can tell that the person who did this is a gambler, and he or she is also a Christian who probably believes God can actually help him or her win big in betting, so the different Bible apps which he or she put around the sportybet app in the middle mean two things for me.
This is really funny to me. I glanced at the picture, and I didn't notice the sportybet app initially till I went back to check the picture again. Why will you put a gambling app in between bibles? But it's not making any sense to me. I just see that as a waste of time. I don't know the kind of mentality that some people have, putting the spotybet app in between bibles won't make you win. If you are going to lose a bet, then you are going to lose it. Some people are just having some weird beliefs, and I don't even know if Christianity is against gambling or not, but my religion is against gambling.

1. He or she wants God to get involved in his or her betting and make him or her win  Grin.

Nah, I don't think that God or any supernatural being for that matter will be involved in gambling or influence the result of the game you played for you advantage. This is just what we call superstitious believed. What I can say is that gamblers though are one of the most superstitious individual that I have met in my life. Everything should be a connection to something.

2. Protection so that no evil will make him loss beta unnecessarily, since we Christians believe that the word of God protects, and we all know that the word of God is contained in the Bible.

And if you are a Christian you know that God does not specifically condemn gambling, but the love of money as the source of all evil.

Now, my question is, does God play a part in our gambling activities? Do you think how much faith or not, we have in God (or whatever we serve as a God) has anything to do with how much we win or lose in sports betting and gambling in general?

So no is my answer here, maybe it was just a coincidence that when you pray to God you suddenly won on you gambling activity. But it doesn't mean that God has anything to do with our gambling, win or lose. Still base on luck and your analysis of the game to be able to win in sports betting.

God is against gambling because it is an ungodly act. Whatever can destroy someone is against the will of God. This is the reason why when you see a man that is so deep in his religious life, he will forbid gambling. We have read some gambling big wins that the  Father of the boy rejected the money and told the boy not to enter his house.

There is no deep religious man that will advise you to gamble because to so many people it is like a waste of funds and the they understand that sometimes, you can pay for yourself to be entertained. Please when we are talking about gambling let us not involve God in it, because gambling is based on luck and not spirituality.

Something like that shouldn't be a topic in the first place. Spirituality or anything about religious activities is an endless cycle of argument. There will be no accurate and even close response to that kind of question as we can't generalize that.

We obviously know that there's no such thing as faith or whatever takes part in our gambling activities.

However, if there's a gambler who applied their religious faith in gambling, just let them be like that. Maybe that's effective to them so be it.

It is mentioned in the Bible itself that schems concerning a quick way to get rich, is a sin which already violates the idea of their relationship. Praying to win is clearly a sign of frustration ‘coz every gambler knows gambling won’t be supported by spiritual belief; simply shows that they have nothing more with them which led them to such behavior. Just let things be put in this way; if you’re lucky then ready the bag to put your rewards with. But if you are having a bad day with your bets then just take a rest than to cross your line of spiritual belief. Our God doesn’t gave anything to do other than to just watch how the player or his son decides for himself.

Rather than spirituality, I am inclined to say that picture you shared with us mostly reflects superstition.
Anyone who had a chance to read the Bible or gone to Church to some extent, would have realized that God does not obey those who use charms, talismans or ammulets, actually if I recall correctly, those things are frown upon by Christianity.

If someone is willing to surround their gambling app with apps to read the Bible, then that same person would agree on wearing charms and similar things to enhance their luck.

I believe there is a connection with gambling and spiritually, but it goes beyond doing things like these. Excessive gambling can eat away the spirit of anyone and there has been countless examples of it in the past.

god as far as i know had said in the bible that it's not allowed to gamble. true believers, wouldn't really include god to win in their bets.

the only reason why spirituality and betting have a connection is because he surrounds his sportybet app with the holy bible app lol how desperate is that man to rely on all his hope to win in gambling.  let me guess is this the lady who cried to return her money after losing on sposrtybet app?

You are right, true believers stay away from gambling and other vices that will lure one into other sins. Like while gambling you can involve in insults and fight which can lead to harming the body especially in off line gambling. While gambling you can be attracted by other things which can jeopardize your faith.

I think it could fall in the category of anything that will lead you to sin. Some can get angry after losing a game and get provoked to beat his wife up and many more of the vices that will lead one into sin, you can steal to gamble. Some gamblers are not truthful, they can try to cheat the casino etc.

And here's my interpretation.

The person who did this wanted to surround his betting icon with a bunch of other stuff and when he feels an urge to gamble he closes his eyes and taps on the screen.
If the bible opens it means God intervened and he's not supposed to gamble on that day.
If the sportsbook opens, again God intervened and he's allowed to make a bet.

It doesn't mean he ever reads the bible, you know. Wink

I cannot speak for God, but I think he has no dealings with petty things like gambling. Following the gospel, we are all children of God, and both the person that wins and looses are all his children, so spirituality or praying to God to win in gambling is useless because the other person who has placed an opposite bet to what you have placed may have also prayed to the same God. So who is he going to answer?

There is luck in gambling, but no spirituality.

That is the mistery of life no one can answer precisely. It's out of our understanding how God acts and why he acts one way and not another. Why do some specific people make huge profit from gambling, while others lose? Why a determined person is so lucky and the other totally unlucky? Is it all about randomness, after all? I don't think so...

I believe not everything happens because God wants, but everything happens because God allows it to happen. It must be related to free will and what we can learn from our actions and decisions aiming our progressive evolutional and developmental process as individuals.

Through a big loss or jackpot win, God may be trying to show you something that can contribute to your personal growment as individual.

It is dependent on your personal faith. I believe whatever one believe would work for them fine let it be but if you do not, so be it. From my understanding of the Bible, Jesus chased away gamblers and money doublers from the temple which means it is contrary to his belief as a  Christian and from that perspective, I can deduce that Jesus does not support such activities in the house of God because it was in the temple such act was carried out but some people still believe what ever they put their hands in would multiple and that settles their faith and it works for them fine. So therefore, if the owner of the App does that with faith possibly it just might work out for them.

It is believed among Christians that God influences everything we do especially if it is good. The Bible is not against responsible gambling but it warns against being in a haste to get wealth because it could lead to loss of wealth or even criminal activities. So I will not criticise people that think God is involved in gambling.
It is also funny for someone to believe that putting a bet app in the middle of Bibles will affect the outcome of the game. This behavior is born out of a lack of understanding of even the Bible. The Bible as a book or app has no consequences except you read and believe it. After believing, you can use it to pray to God and ask for what you need including protection against evil and gambling wins.

In summary, Christianity is not against gambling and Christians believe that God controls everything. It will not be out of place to pray and ask God for protection and favor. But it would be foolishness to depend solely on God to make you win, hence it is important to learn and gain skills about your games.

I don't think God involves himself with gambling. In the bible, Jesus Christ destroyed the template of gamblers and chased them out of synagogue.

Jesus pursued those gamblers and moneychangers out of the temple because they were gambling in the wrong place. They should have engaged in the activity outside the holy Temple.

There is no where in the bible that talks about gambling as a sin, but it is in the bible that the love of money is the root of evil. Gambling supposed to be fun and be done with little amount of money. If a christian is gambling with very huge amount of money and thinking God will help him, he is only digging the space of depression for himself and if care is not taken, it may be worst than depression. I do not know what I can call this than stupidity and he is testing God, and which is wrong.

There is a mention of it in the bible. I remember posting this somewhere which some pastor in the past taught us about this in a Christian living class. Which is says in Proverbs 1:14.

Quote
You shall cast your lot among us. We'll all have one purse." 14 put thou lot with us, one purse be there of us all; (put thou thy lot with us, and let there be one purse for us all;) 14 Thy lot thou dost cast among us, One purse is -- to all of us.

If I have to interpret it myself, its like poker where they have a money pot in the middle and one of them will win.

And in Proverbs 1:15, it also says it is not allowed.

Quote
15 my son, do not go along with them, do not set foot on their paths;

Amen!  Grin

Exactly,  back then in the old days while as an undergraduate student I wrote one course exam like that where this question was put forward by I e of our lecturer.

What is the place of God in football match/ gambling?

Where is the place of God in politics?

All this are great questions that help us get some level of information and building a scientific understanding around those subjects terms,  I believe that in gambling and politics god is just a spectator.

If he asks for a sign from God if he should stop gambling, God will give him a sign right away that he should stop, God does now want us to be astray and addiction to gambling will keep us astray from God.

Not because the Bible says that we should include God in everything we do, that does not mean we should involve God in our vice, we are just justifying our wrongdoing by including God in it.

If you really God-fearing you should not include him in vices and man up to yourself you are responsible for all that you're doing, only ask for guidance to the Lord if you're doing it according to his laws and wishes not your wishes.

As atheists, first, prove the existence of God then we can explore the answers for his help regarding our activities.

As theist. Good has a better job to do than monitoring someone's entertainment. Cheesy

Everyone has superstitious beliefs in one or another so this is some kind of belief not really thinking that God will help the person to win if he surrounds himself with bibles.

It seems that God plays a role in the win or loss that we experience, and that is our life's destiny that has been written. Instead of talking about matters of faith in gambling, it is better for us to directly place a bet and turn the button or determine the amount of money and bet. Perhaps we will never reach an agreement about whether faith has anything to do with gambling because perhaps some people don't want to mix gambling with religion. Some people even say that gambling is prohibited in religion, some people say that there is no need for faith to gamble, and others.

By looking at this picture, I feel like I see someone showing off his stupidity and that's LOL...
And I just want to ask actually "which god does he worship" and what religion does he follow..? because clearly in the Bible there is a statement that "warns to abstain from loving money" where meanwhile, gambling is one of the activities that brings you closer to it (loving money). But apart from that, gambling is about the enjoyment of some people, so regardless of whether it is halal or haram, as long as you like gambling, go ahead and if you don't like it, don't ever gamble. And never mix it up with religion because religion clearly prohibits this.
