Week 1 in the EPL were real shockers. There were three matches from what I could remember were surprises: Watford, Brentford and Tottenham.
But from what I can tell from the chat rooms many took those teams to win. So there are some sharp bettors out and about in the chat.

Now just to let those who were asking about the free 4-3 and Free 6-6 promotions were since the last they were seen was during the euros.
They are back for week 2 shown and links below:

https://sportsbet.io/sports/bet-free-6-6

Might as well get them in by this friday so to qualify.
Good luck to all who want to participate.

heh, that one special @433 odds was nothing but hopes and dreams  Grin
Well, if @433 odds were easy to hit there would be a shit load of millionaires around here in gambling section and lot less bookies Smiley

I was only pissed it dropped on the first game, I like when tickets like that survive first few games and we can start really hoping or maybe even defending ticket on some games.

So, how many of the Premier League Countdown specials are winnable?

the "Over 15.5 Home Goals and over 15.5 Away Goals In Week 1" looks grim. The three remaining away teams (City, the Hammers and Liverpool) would need to score a shit ton of goals or this special is a bust

Your bet on Leicester city to beat manchester city in the shield cup was a good prediction.
Congrats on the 1st half of the bet you had mentioned about on the Ann thread.

Here are some shots for those who somehow missed the match (well the end atleast Wink):
Iheanacho the one who scored the lone and winning goal via a penalty kick.

Him and Daka make a formidable duo.

Seeing this team win the EPL, FA Cup and now the Community Shield is saying something.

Club Talk radio announcers David and Gavin did an astounding job on the play by play once again.
Looking forward to hearing them call the next match for the start of the EPL season starting August 13th.
See you all there! Wink

Well, well, well, nice bet on Women's football rdbase! Smashing games from the aussies, but clearly the vets of both sides were the ones pulling the strings (Rapinoe for US, Kerr for Australia). Too bad no golden boot or they'd get more decorations. Sorry about Sweden heh. Fooled me too. And still yeah, again painfully reminding everyone the women's game is still underdeveloped that they rely on the old stars again and again even for an U23 team.

But that discussion aside, hope to see you ALL in ALL the 3 pools for next season! I'm winning all of them, but you can fight for 2nd place =p

P.S. Messi is somehow sad news for me, not even really a Barca guy. Sao Paolo @888 is my pick.

PSG already booked Eiffel tower for 10.08. last time they did that was to celebrate the transfer of Neymar. It is not coincidence that odds on PSG are that low. I am thinking it is done deal even though I believe City would have been better option for him, especially that contract option for 5 years with last couple of years in MSL, all with same wages.

I couldn't agree less that PSG is the most likely destination for Messi, and I would have preferred Man City too, but I'm not too sure if Man City have been able facilitate the deal especially after just concluding the Grealish deal, it probably would have been a really different case had the deal for Grealish fell through, but it is what it is.

Unfortunately, there is no Liverpool on this list of contenders ... so I had to opt for Chelsea ... By the way, if someone is not in the know, you can choose only once, and the bet limit is at the level of 0.5 mBTC. Although to tell the truth, the negative transfer balance of Liverpool is unlikely to overpower the contract with Messi, (despite no transfer fee being required).

I didn’t know that ... and I didn’t know that the French celebrated the transfer of Neymar on the same scale.  Shocked

Wouldn't the women's soccer team who advanced higher then the mens be paid more?
I've always thought this is how it worked. Embarrassed
Never really looked into it and it didn't peak my interest enough to even bother to be honest.
But this Olympics has been a strange one with the trans/fluid gender roles taking most of the headlines in the women's weightlifting category.
I think they receive some kind of performance-based bonuses, but they are much higher for men than for women because the associations receive way more money from organizations (in football those are Fifa and Uefa) for male competitions.
In a way it seems fair that men are receiving more, but when representing a country I'd like it to be equal. After all, both female and male teams are under the same association.
I can see what you are saying when it comes to all athlete's pay grade being performance based and it would come down to what the associating bodies of the IOC have to say about it at the end of the day.

Haven't put in a bet on the Olympics but had others from different chat rooms giving their feedback on which teams to watch for.
So placed a first bet on the games and it just landed as a win.

So can now join in on the EPL Pool sponsored by Sportsbet.io starting in a week. New season starts August 13th.
There is still time for those who wish to join in too.

Equal rights should be given when these athletes are competing at an international level - when they are representing their country. It is already present in the Olympics - where a female's gold medal in badminton is equal to a man's gold in tennis. I feel it should be present in football as well - and in all sports - I don't really care that football associations earn way more money on men's tournaments. A cap is a cap, both from Neymar and from some girl playing for Brazil.

But if we're discussing professional sport outside of international appearances, than women athletes are even overpaid in my opinion. That crap is unbearable to watch most of the time and they are lucky that some of them can make a living out of it. It's as if I had a cooking show and burned half of my kitchen while making a meal.

So performance based pay, which is what women's team say makes them deserve to get paid more, is silly because you are a playground bully in most games.
I am all about equal rights but then let's make it actually equal. Football is maybe not so clear cut case but let's talk grand slam tennis. Men are playing best of 5 sets while women play best of 3 and then they ask for same rewards. Sure let's have same rewards but at least then you have to play best of 5 as well. Not even gonna mention how much more interesting ATP is from marketing point of view.

I am for equality but I am also talking about fairness. But actually it is easier to see than some think. In football, if the women are training and working as much as the men, if they have more professional games to play, then they should get equal "work-based" pay.

But the women's US team captain is asking for "performance" based pay because she says they are more successful than the men's team, then let us make it fair and compare performance. Coefficients and ranking. On pitch numbers like distance ran, interceptions, etc.

And then as boltz says, take into account revenue generated. If your shirt sells $100 million then sure, take 10% but if you can't sell a shirt why should you get it? Then we will stop talking about performance:)

I think there are other sports where this both men and women should have equal salaries and stuff but Football is not one of them.

First of all , in order to have big salaries , you must be a good player and a magnet of for the fans ...basically a superstar. Secondly , the Woman Football should be TV everywhere in order to make it more popular than already is and start to attract more investors as you can't give big salaries if the sport won't bring enough money to cover all this.  Maybe in time this will change but for now there are other sports that needs attention more than football.

What were they playing, surely not football  Grin

JK, but imagine you had the balls to put something on over let's say 10 goals before the match started, would have been a nice multiplier. If any bookie even offered such high margins.
Even if a bookie had to offer 10 or more goals for the Dutch squad, the odds would not be as absurd as you may think. I'd say 8.00 to 10.00 tops, the Dutch are regarded as one of the strongest teams in this tournament, they are vice-champions from the last world cup (2019 France), the pre-match line was around 4.5 / 5.5, they beat a semi-decent team of Norway 7-0 in their last friendly lol, my point, there were many goals expected in this match.

Zambian team with almost no friendlies played in preparation for the Olympics, complete underdogs at +15000, with the exception of their captain, who was actually pretty great, the others are absolutely god awful, including their center backs and goalie, who were comical. If the Dutch had not substituted their best player and goalscorer, Miedema, the game could have turned out even uglier.

There's money to be made here... Grin

I wanted to comment on this last week but totally forgot, I really think sometimes like the women's team in USA asking for higher salary than the men's is a bit out of context. I mean no disrespect to women's football but we all can see clearly the quality is so different.

And if you ever see US men play Gambia men it will never be like this.

So performance based pay, which is what women's team say makes them deserve to get paid more, is silly because you are a playground bully in most games.
