Perez first issue is qualy as always, he ended up starting froma not so good position so he has to recover this positions very fast or the gap build in front is imposible to cut after in the race. And now this year is worst because seems like they dont have anymore that super advantage against Ferrari or McClaren at least as we see until now.

You can't have a championship race with only a very good driver without a good car. But with a very good car and an average driver you can do this. For example I think Perez can collect the needed amount of points for a championship even if there isn't Verstappen ahead of him. He finished the driver standings in the 2nd position in the previous season. He managed to take the 2nd position after Verstappen in the first 2 races this year too.

He did so last year where difference with other teams was much bigger than it is now.I think right now Perez will have quite a lot of difficulty to come second especially as soon as we enter the European races where Perez had big trouble during last season. This season is quite different and I am sure that the Ferrari is much stronger this year and I am sure in Europe we will see much stronger battles even against Verstappen himself.

I like more the direct translation to spanish, who give me something like "terminado, no listo". Maybe in english can be better  say "finished, not ready". But is difficult to translate phrase.

Its funny because "habis" also means finished, but usually just to say something is over. And 'siap' means finished or complete but also means ready, but really depending on the style you say it, so yes I understand I think what you mean.

Sometimes our movies have subtitles and in English it sounds so retarded, and the same way other, English movies with our subtitles sound totally wrong lol

We have sometimes local commentators for F1 and it's so silly. They end up just borrowing English phrases a lot so it doesn't sound weird. Like 'overtake' and even 'safety car' because the local versions are not usable.

When we look at Perez's performance we can think that Ferrari would be able to challenge Red Bull in next races. However when we think about the level difference between Verstappen and Perez we need to wait for the next race. I hope that Ferrari managed to change something and we can watch the rest of the season more competitively.
Ferrari is the only team that can seriously challenge RedBull team, and I think Sainz will have additional motivation because this should be his last season with Ferrari.
People think that drivers are the only thing important in Formula 1, but there is so many things that need to click for someone to be on podium in the end of race.

Of course there are quite a lot of things as there is no need to be called a team the teams of F1 but for me the driver plays one of the most important role, the 75% of the job is done on track,if the driver is not able to handle the race pressure of course with the help of his engineer and entire team it means that most likely the entire team will fail so the driver can be a single point of failure in terms of business speaking.

Sainz of course is super motivated and I like a guy like him yet we need to see how he will perform in continuity as I am sure it won't be that easy with Verstappen not out of the race.

I was also thinking the same as you last season that Verstappen and Perez had different cars. But this season I think the difference between is because of driver quality only. If we look at the comments of the drivers after Perez overtook Russell and Hamilton in the recent race, all of them said that the car was extraordinary.

I still think Perez car its not the same of Verstappen, i clearly support Max is way better driver than Perez but its impossible to have this diference at such high levels, the only way to see that is only one and is because is not te same car, something in the chassis si diferent i think.

Like we say here "una golondrina no hace verano" wich translated is "One swallow does not make a summer"

I love the sound of this, it is something similar to a phrase me and my friends say, though it is not a true thing all in our culture say: "habis bukan siap" which translates to "finished isn't finished"... hard to say in English lol

Qualification tells you about the drivers and cars on their own and to me that's more than enough to say if rivals can compete properly against each other, the levels like you say.

But people perform to different levels depending on who is chasing, who is leading, and others around them. Someone said earlier Verstappen used to be Crashstappen, now he matured? Or is his car just better?

The thing that attracted my attention is that Max could not get ahead of carlos after the start and was also passed by Carlos. Seems like Redbull dominance is coming to an end. It was a track where ferrari could close the gap with Redbull, and when perez got a grid penalty, there was hope. Carlos got up very clean and comfortable. Max could not open the drs distance this time. I think from the very beginning that teams like redbull are against the understanding of this sport, they are not producers. They are not rooted and they have no culture.

It's one race. It's one technical failure. I don't think anyone can summarize that this is the end of Red Bull dominance lol. I mean Max was on 9 consecutive wins and took this complete retirement to get him out.

I don't like supporting RB, but I don't know how this race makes them a team with no culture, totally don't get it lol

I think the same Ferrari in all the years had this races when is make you think Yeahhhh is happening finally!, but when the later races goes on you see it was not true.

Redbull and any other team should be not judged by just a mistake once in a very long time.

Exactly. If this was like Ferrari last season, or even if it happened 2 times in a row, then yes, even I would be thinking if this is the start of a pattern. But one mistake in 10, man that's just being dumb to say it's all over for RB Wink

I think so too, it was a brake defect (so probably a fault from a supplier) where the cause is sure to be found quickly, or it has already been established why this failure. Or it was just bad luck. In any case, I hope Ferrari can confirm their form in the next two races and we'll have another exciting race for the top three places.

Agreed, not like I'm a big Ferrari fan now but anything to see a proper competition, everyone fighting to the last lap. I think I'm failing this pool but it's always gonna be about the excitement for me now.

I think you're drawing conclusions too early, especially after mechanical failure. Sainz was great, but seems that Max issue already start from beginning of race, he complained about car already on the first lap and probably this is why Sainz overtake him so easy.

I said this few days ago and than they had first mechanical retirement since 2022  Tongue
That's very impressive and at first I couldn't believe that these numbers were real. Remember, people used to call him Crashstappen.

One error in 2 years does not mean anything especially since it was a mechanical, brake failure that put Verstappen out of the race and of course Verstappen himself said during the interview that this what happened in Australia is not ideal but I am confident that in the future such things will not happen again and I already look forward to the next race of Japan.

Redbull and any other team should be not judged by just a mistake once in a very long time.

The technical failure rate is actually very good for all top teams.

Thanks for the notification  Smiley

Congratulations to darxioami and goodpunt on winning a free bet on this challenging week.

Thanks just got really lucky here.

Congrats hsh1 for winning first place in superbru!

Thanks I was indeed very lucky.

Not sure if he had any technical problems but Perez was very underwhelming.
He couldn't even get past the two McLarens...

Was good to see Verstappen out, it leads to more interesting races. Ferraris did well and took what was offered, but I do feel it will once again be RB's season.
Honda engine used in RB Racing is very reliable but humans can make mistakes and Verstappen is not perfect.

This was a Ferrari day but they need to win a lot more races if they want to be in serious competition for title.
Leclerc is now in sandwich between Verstappen and Perez with 47 points  Grin

Congrats hsh1 for winning first place in superbru!
I was 4th and this is my best result of the season, and I will try to continue posting my predictions early in future.

The problem with the Redbulls, apart from the failure they had today, seems to be the earlier degradation of the tyres compared to the Ferrari.
Especially with the softer tyres.

Maybe they can adapt quickly and will win all the next races but in some races we could have close battles like today, even without the brake failure it would have been a tight race.

I highly doubt it would have been,I am sure Max with the hard tires would have driven much but much better than Perez who is happy with those poor and mediocre performances during all his late years in Redbull, the guy is never having a real go at fighting against Verstappen.

Nevertheless it would have been perfect to see a battle between the Ferraris and Redbulls without that mechanical failure of Verstappen, there is only one good thing out of this race and that is now 4 drivers are just 11 points difference from each other, something was not the case in the previous season.
