Mercedes seems to have offered €140m a year to have Verstappen in their team.
Bordering on madness if it were true, 3 times more than the second driver paid on the grid.
Shocked
I know he is a great driver and he is dominating in most races, but I think Red Bull have better car this season.
Moving to different team would create big shuffle and we could see much different results.
I heard there are big changes coming from 2025 with F1 regulations.

Verstappen has a contract with Red Bull until 2028 for 55 million a year  Grin

Kinda sounds like Palermo breaking the bank to get Mbappe. Huge money, but can they offer a sports motive as well?
I mean, Verstappen is a great driver - probably the best one on the grid. But switch places between him and Russell (who I really like as a driver) and I think the standings won't be much different.

Sure, difference between Perez and Verstappen clearly shows that the car is not all that matters - but it's 90% of the puzzle. Going all in on a driver while your car is sub-par doesn't seem like the smartest idea.

If Mercedes are planning to sign Verstappen for the 2026 season then I would say maybe they have something they rely on. As far as I have heard they currently have the best engine data after big changes are made as of that season.  Smiley  But if they are planning to bring him next season then Verstappen might have to be patient for at least one season to race for the title.

By the way Red Bull are really likely to lose power by really important members' departures. Newey is also leaving by the end of this season (probably he will join Ferrari after that).

I think you can say it loud that the car is not all that matters, put that car into some mediocre driver like Perez is and most likely the motivation of the other drivers and teams would be so high that they would win a Championship against him even if he has the best car.The fact that he has come second in the standings is all because of stupid and amateur mistakes from other drivers and teams,if for example Ferrari would have made no mistakes and their drivers would also made no mistakes last season I am sure he would not got to second like he did.Anyway I would love to see Verstappen switch team after so many years at Redbull.

Is sad but we cant see any mayor improvement who cut a little the gap to the dominant Red Bull team.

As RedBull is not standing still in development either, it will be difficult to catch up despite the many updates from Mercedes and Ferrari, the gap will probably not get much smaller, but I hope that the other teams can catch up a little for the sake of suspense.

no sign of rain expected over the weekend in Miami so we will have to have a dry race and practice.

This are the things that i dont like at all, is like in football they are gonna break the market and all is gonna be valued a lot more.

And other thing, is Mercedes really in the need of doing that? Making a super financial effort for what? First the car, second the driver, and they already have driver.....

About Ferrari new livery for this race.....  Lips sealed

I think we are reading this kind of news from like at least two seasons, and the upgrades of every team are canceled by the upgrades of the other teams, so the field remains in the same start position.

Yes this is the nature of Formula 1. You really need to work harder than the other teams to make your upgrades serve a purpose. Mercedes are actually the second richest team after Ferrari now. Normally I would expect them to be able to use this money power effectively. But maybe it isn't that simple for them. Maybe it is because of not having better engineers than their rivals, I don't know.  Smiley

Keeping up with Red Bull really looks like a dream this season.  Sad  Maybe Red Bull might lose this dominance with new rules and other changes in 2026.

Mercedes are expected to bring some big upgrades for the Miami Grand Prix weekend. They had better do so because the season has started terrible for them. They are already way behind Ferrari and McLaren have also started much better. Mercedes were successful in the latest sprint and with these upgrades maybe another good result would be seen in this sprint. But for a full racing pace it is still difficult to trust them very much.

I hope I can make difference on my podium choices.  Roll Eyes  Predicting the complete podium brings really valuable extra points.

MAIAMAIIIIIIIII!!!!!!

I think is one of the best places for going to see a race, not only for the race itself but also for the sourrondings and the beachs partys etc. One of the best moves the F1 can do was putting a race there, because also Miami is not a common US citie with normal US citizens Miami is full of latins and latins with ton of moneys from every latinamerica country. And that people likes the F1 an not the Indi for example.

I don't know if you guys have heard about it but the magazine or web page of Automotosport plus that they are giving it for sure that Newey is leaving Redbull.Memes also have populated F1 fun social media pages where they are depicting all other teams fighting hard with each other as who to get the offer to him first.I think also if he truly leaves it can finally make Redbull very much vulnerable when new regulations come in 2026 and they have to design a new car based on such regulations.

I see the memes, the only thing i dont want to see is if he goes to Ferrari please dont make a super dominand aerodinamic car combined with a super Ferrari engine after all those years, if that happen maybe we can expect again a nother era of dominance by only one team, in this case Ferrari, if all the describe above was correct.

Yes, I have seen the news related to Adrian Newey all around the internet. Especially recently they say that he is very close to sign for Ferrari. However his role at Ferrari might be like a supervisor according to they say. I would like to see him in a much more active role to be honest if he really joins Ferrari. He should definitely design the cars for them as of that moment.  Smiley  Besides if he leaves I wonder what Verstappen will do. Because without Newey's designs Red Bull might lose power.

CLS63 just reminded me this pool isn't even half done. Definitely one thing to look forward to during the off season once May is done and dusted for football. Who knows, I'll actually start paying attention to F1.

More silly sprint races coming I hear?

Yeah we have a pretty long season ahead. Having 24 races in this season makes me really happy. It is a busier calendar for teams and drivers however it is great news for F1 enthusiasts.  Grin  I agree that it is going to be nice to have Formula 1 in absence of football matches. In the end we are giving a 3-month break for football leagues which isn't a short break at all.

There are more sprint races to come, yes. There are 5 more after leaving the one in China behind.

the first photos of the suit that Ferrari will use in Miami have been leaked, it is completely blue without a trace of red.
I think it will be a historic color for a long time.

Ferrari will also bring some upgrades for the Grand Prix even if it is not the biggest part of the update, we will see if it is enough to get back competitive.

I think the twin cities are forever, but maybe im wrong. Anyways always make me laught that thing of "twin cities" becuase i always read that and think to myself " and this what give us ? "

I used to feel "proud" my little shitty town was twinned in some place I'd never visit. I'm not sure I'm any wiser these days Wink

Im doing like a piece of shit in the pool, but well we all know we only play for the fun right?  Wink

You mean it's not serious? Why did I put in some mbtc here?! Haha.

Because i support every single community raised competition  Smiley

All is fault of Max Verstappen and Redbull they dont give us the fun we demand, we need more enjoyable and unpredictable races. Also supèrbru for F1 dont give us so much options and you relly on the luck of your driver falling into the correct position.

MIAMI RACE ahead lets see if i have some america luck.

In Europe we should all be aware of what can happen,European races at least have some surprise events usually so the European races are never as boring as other continents,so we can have different results there and the standings will change more than they have done in these first races. We still have Miami though before moving to Imola in Europe so you have one race more time advantage at your disposal.

I just wish F1 would stay a little bit longer in East Asia.
It was very convenient for me to check practice results, odds movements and to visit the local shaman for clarification Cheesy

But yes it will surely get very interesting in Europe at least I hope so.

I know how it feels,in the latest race in China I could not wake up at 4 Am to see the final results of the final free practice in order to evaluate them and based on that evaluation to make my choices for the qualification and the race.We are going into Miami where the race will be held at 9 PM or 10 PM European time and that is a great time as we have all the needed time to check every free practice session before making our decisions.Luckily after that race we will be racing in Europe for most of the season which again gives us enough time to check thoroughly before deciding.I know that the time zone impacts our points as I experienced that in Japan and China in these last two races. My advice to you is to put your alarm,if you have a smart watch that you wear while sleeping it will be of great help, that is what I use when I need to wake up at certain times cause it is much more convenient than your phone.
