I never thought that Pakistan would suffer such a defeat. I didn't expect them to perform like this coming to the World Cup. The cricket world will lose faith in them. Some gamblers will start avoiding their team. I can never accept Pakistan losing to Zimbabwe. I myself have faced huge losses. But my pity if Pakistan lost against a strong team maybe the matter could have been taken easily. But it is very difficult to lose when victory is almost knocking on the door.
I have been following this thread for quite sometime now and it is evident there are users that follow blindly Pakistan team. What happened today was not expected by anyone! Still it happened as Pakistan lost the only match they thought would have helped them to get a berth on the semifinals.
My opinion was that Pakistan bowlers were clumsy and especially Shaheen Afridi. Regardless of the bowlers the problem rely on the batters. None of them were able to achieve as they all wanted to attack the Zimbabwe bowlers. As expected that back fired that resulted Pakistan losing the match. It might also result them not able to get a berth in the semifinals..

Bangladesh vs South Africa is the biggest defeat of Bangladesh. I have never seen so many defeats like today. Because the victory for Bangladesh in Australia field near South Africa is very less. Shakib Al Hasan won many matches when he was the captain of Bangladesh but now Shakib Al Hasan is nearing his retirement due to which there are no more players like him. Bangladesh has players who can control the match. And Bangladesh will have to work harder and prepare better if they want to win with a unique team.
Netherland's bowling has been spot on and their commitment on the field has been excellent. In my opinion they might have saved a good amount of runs through their fielding. Can't agree with this argument. Ireland was the better team yesterday. And you are assuming that lower order English batsmen would have scored at 10 runs per over, when the top order (Jos Buttler, Dawid Malan and Ben Stokes) failed to score at even 6 runs per over. Anyway, the rules are very clear about it. Ireland was ahead as per the Duckworth–Lewis–Stern method at the time of rain interruption, and as a result they ended up with two points. Usually the ICC laws are biased against the associate nations, but in this case it favored Ireland.
Of course, England are ahead of Ireland on points. If England could have won this match, they would have gone higher in the points table.
Wrong. Both England and Ireland acquired 2 points each though England is far ahead of Ireland in terms of NRR.Now there will be endless discussions about the suitability of the DLS method, but IMO Ireland got well deserved points today.
