Spurs at their peak when they did finals would be in finals again, as long as Spurs is good, as long as any team is good they will have that chance to go to champions league finals anyway, and if they suck then instead of getting scored 4-5 goals at champions league, they will do like hardcore fighting at conference league, which makes things a lot better for the viewers as well since we will see more games between close level teams.

I agree in this way, that Conference League is not going to be as boring as people think it is because there will be some quality players and quality teams at some stage. I mean if you see midtable teams in England Spain Germany Italy France sometimes they have very good matches and high quality,,, just not enough to compete at the top consistently.

Spurs need to achieve at least one title. It would be a milestone for them and will help them to build up their history as well as maintain strength of their squad.

Yes indeed. See what this did for Leicester City in terms of confidence and history building:)

Not your keys, not your coins!
But you are actually right about Champions League bad football, and this is what I mean. Can you imagine 2 seasons past we were in final of UCL and now we barely qualified for Conference League? Funny,,,
Because Premier League is very competitive. In the last season, Spurs have a good first half and they even are one of candidates for the title. However, bad performance in second half damages their all season. Chelsea have the same thing with Lampard but after the sack on Frankie, Tuchel help them to end in the top 4, in a final day of the league.

Spurs have good players to be in top 4 but it is no longer an easy task for Spurs, Chelsea, Liverpool or Manchester United. Leicester City almost end in top 4 but they lost it all in final days.

Problems with Spurs are they need to win titles to keep their best players. If they can win Premier League or Champions League, at least one, Kane won't leave the club. Atletico Madrid with Simeone win a few La Liga and even they failed in Champions League, they are able to keep their best and loyal players.

Spurs need to achieve at least one title. It would be a milestone for them and will help them to build up their history as well as maintain strength of their squad.

Oh no do not worry about making jokes about Spurs, we are the best at doing that to ourselves. You know you are a joke team when you do not have your fans making fun of other teams because well we have nothing to show off and brag about (yet).

But you are actually right about Champions League bad football, and this is what I mean. Can you imagine 2 seasons past we were in final of UCL and now we barely qualified for Conference League? Funny,,,
Well, Spurs is a bit of a niche in that regard, but these type of growing is basically to make sure that Champions League stays a lot more fun, whereas other teams do not just get sent home. Lower the amount of teams in champions league, lower the amount of teams in europa, and put the rest to conference. This way anyone who is leftover from champions league goes to europa, all the leftovers from europa goes to conference and that way we have one more.

Ok lads let's slowly warm up for Premier League with Community Shield match Leicester City vs Manchester City starting in few days, and try your luck predicting match result, goals, type of goal and number of corners I think.
Match is played at Wembley Stadium and I see few players are missing for Leicester including Evans and Castagne, while James Maddison is negotiating with Arsenal.
Leicester plays friendly match with Villarreal today and they didn't won a single match in preparation, while Man City won all 3 friendly matches they head in pre-season.
Last few matches of  Community Shield all ended up with a 1:1 draw result in regular time so that is something to keep in mind.

Question for Sportsbet and Steve., how many clubs in EFL Championship will be sponsored by Sportsbet this season?
I am following this league on regular basis: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/mma-info-and-predictions-bellator-ksw-pfl-one-5197906

The Sportsbet logo looks great ... I hope this year I'll be able to add the same T-shirt to my collection.

By the way, is there a possibility that Sportsbet is interested in other national leagues? Let's say I have an acquaintance within the Ukrainian Premier League (which includes such teams as Dynamo Kiev and Shakhtar). I mean, it is likely that for such a reliable bookmaker as Sportsbet, the Ukrainian online betting market would be quite comfortable places due to the lack of competition (except perhaps Parimatch). ...no hints from Steve about the new season-long competition not even a little bit, so i guess we have to wait until they announce it this weekend.  Tongue

Not so secretive is the new Saints away kit which was released earlier today 👍:

We’ll also announce a new season-long competition with lots of prizes to be won and the broadcast will conclude with a live commentary for the Community Shield where Leicester City and Manchester City battle it out for the first trophy of the season.

I've noticed a few new posts made by Sportsbet in the Club Talk section earlier today, and the above caught my attention.  Do you guys have any idea what that season-long competition might be? I'd guess some sort of fantasy league or survivor pool perhaps, idk really curious to know more about this...hmm, interesting!?

I think a couple of days ago or the day before, they invited everyone to join the (official) Premier League Fantasy league, which I duly did. Could be something about this instead or related? Maybe a points system but I'm sure it's also a repeat of the successful EURO radio commentary (which was of really high quality speaking objectively having subjected myself to some pretty sorry local broadcasters haha).

P.S. My early season special: City to lose both ComShield and opening day match.

I wonder if this has anything to do with the Sportsbet sponsored Premier League pool? I already paid and participating prize pot is going to be super huge with 0.1 BTC already provided to us by Sportsbet!
I don't think so, it will be something on Sportsbet site not here on the forum. Even though we consider ourselves big part of Sportsbet community I have a feeling there is a lot of players there that never heard of bitcointalk.

While we are talking about Sportsbet sponsored league pools, they are also sponsoring La Liga and Serie A pools this season:

Big thanks for that once again.

I will insert the meme here of someone who is being talked about but quietly looks away hehe.

Spurs plays in Conference league, our prize last season for finishing in our very bad spot,,, and I kind of agree in general with all that is being said but I think it is also unfair to say nobody wants to waste time. For most teams now in there it is their chance of their fans for first time to really enjoy a big campaign in Europe. I disagree it is bad football also I mean I have seen even bad football at Champions League:)
The reason why you have seen bad football in champions league is that very low level teams (like spurs lol) end up playing teams that are good (okay just joking about spurs), which means that do you really think that we should have a group stage filled with teams that either will shock the world or just suck so bad that they will end up with zero points?

Let them play in europa and have less teams on champions league so that it is directly very competitive, one or two groups less in champions league would make it very competitive and only the greats will be there that season, plus the problem usually caused by some teams overachieving in league and participating in champions league but during the off season sell their good players when they are at peak worth and now they are bad again but already in the cup.

Oh no do not worry about making jokes about Spurs, we are the best at doing that to ourselves. You know you are a joke team when you do not have your fans making fun of other teams because well we have nothing to show off and brag about (yet).

Conference League is worst competition ever and nobody want's to waste time and play there, that makes it much harder to predict results and only bookmakers are happy with this.
Sometimes EUFA has nothing smart to do and they create experimental doomed stuff like this...
Well, technically speaking it is under champions league and europa league as we all know, so it is third tier, but I still feel like it means something to many clubs that participate. After all why would we want to have a game against Real Madrid when you can battle it out with 4th of Slovenian league or something?

I do not know who joins but it is obvious that teams who are getting bigger and bigger troubles trying to cope with other major champions league teams will end up in these leagues, even europa is not easy for some teams, even though there is a bigger chance there at least, which means that we should be focusing on third tier for lower level teams like my personal favorite team, we can't be good at all in champions league and we can never be good at europa neither, so this third tier could be bad football, but at least gives lower teams a chance to fight for a title in europe.

What happened in Conference League guys ? There were so many surprises from FCSB going down at penalties , Hajduc Split to loose in the last seconds of the game and so many crazy games yesterday.  We anticipated that this League will offer some crazy results but not like this. I mean , I'm enjoying this as long as we see good football and next phase of Conference should be even crazier.

I feel this competition is done to please other small clubs, and to make them feel that they’re important in UEFA eyes. However we won’t enjoy this league much due to the teams plalying in it, but if in some particular season a team like Liverpool drops there (sorry can’t resist saying their name as a Manchester United fan) then suddenly we’ll watch the league with keen interest, but till then I’m only going to watch from a distance.

So I stopped trying so hard to get 20/1++ acca wins, but with some big freebets won from Sportsbet on promos (including the very tasty UFC Multimaster hosted every week or so, which I finally bagged heh), time to brag about the wins so far and see how far I get with the rest of them.

US women's Olympics soccer was close, but fair game to the Dutch. 4/1

Then I'm hoping for a third time lucky with a Bottas win in F1 tomorrow (you can do it, man!). Two past outrights didn't make it but I smell some magic. 85/10

Also already off to a good start on my final freebet placed on a 5-leg acca. 34/1

Nothing compared to crazy Brazilian 10-leg accas, of course =D

who would have thought you can see Bitcoin logo on every player and billboard in a english premier league stadium?Smiley
This is not entirely true, because as far as I understand, players can wear T-shirts with the Sportsbet logo only for home matches or for matches within the national league. In fact, if some of the sponsored Sportsbet teams play in Germany, Switzerland, Ru, etc., then the players will have to wear T-shirts without their sponsor's logo, (in some countries online betting advertising is prohibited).

In addition, as sad as it may sound, it is likely that this is the last season for Sportsbet as a sponsor of the Premier League teams. "At the beginning of 2021, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced a likely ban on advertising of bookmakers on the sports uniforms of football clubs in the EPL".

Interesting, and yes,,, I was aware of the restrictions on the player jerseys but I do remember watching Watford matches on TV and all the players had Bitcoin logo plus you could see the same Bitcoin logo on billboards the whole game

Again,,, I am talking about Bitcoin logo, not Sportsbet logo which are not the same thing:) Bitcoin logo is not even commercial:)

Who knows, people will remember Bitcoin logo in some way and keep it there?Smiley I do not think Boris knows how hard it will be for sponsorships. They allowed Chinese bookies for a long time this is different.
