I am more thinking of a first theory, Nadal is playing tennis matches and enjoy very last happy moment on fields. Soon, he will follow Roger Federer to retire and we will see Djokovic to do the same in next several years. He starts to get more injuries this year like Federer and Nadal got some years before the ends of their career.
Yeah. I agree. This is the twilight phase of his career and I feel that he just wants to win big championship one more time before going out with a bang and the Olympics 2024 could be the one.
Heard that he is teaming up with the sensational Carlos Alcaraz in the doubles matches too which is great for them both.
I would guess that we are going to see Nadal and Alcaraz could be VERY big together, I mean sure Nadal is not as good as he used to be, but he is still Nadal, that is as good as you can get. Moreover, on top of that you get Alcaraz, who is arguably the new "best" that we have, Djokovic is a close second and I would understand if anyone says he is still number one, but I would say even that is not for too long, he got too old in the end.
We would see the current best and the previous best be together. I do not see any other two players that can be better than that two, it would be impossible to beat them. I am sensing that soon enough, both Nadal and Djokovic or any other competition to Alcaraz will be gone, and he will be standing alone at the very top, nobody even near him. We are going to probably get bored of him winning all the time.
I mean I am a formula 1 fan, and Max Verstappen winning everything at all times is a boring thing, but it does make the game fun to watch others as well, just to keep up with what others do. Like in this case, lets see who could go to finals the most against him type of thing. That is why I believe that this is going to be quite fun period for tennis to watch while also being boring for results.
