The next match, Barcelona will play at home against Alaves and it looks like it will be a good opportunity for Barcelona to get points. Cheesy

having home match with Alaves is a good chance for even Elche to win, so it should be good for Barca as well Smiley
Barca is lucky that all other contenders are playing lousy, so they could easily catch with the top in case of a series of good results

with all said, I think that Atletico and Real will be top2 (probably Real, than Atletico), Sevilla third, and Sociedad could get position 4, in front of Barca, that could finish fifth, what are your end-season prognosis for top5

It would have been worth it the end, right ?

You think Barcelona have hit the rock bottom and it can't get any worse, but it really just do every other game week. Rayo Vallecano really are in a good form, but the defeat would be as embarrassing as losing to them if they were are the bottom of the table.

It would have yeah, Should have parlayed Rayo with Sassuolo in Serie A, that was the most obvious for me, would have taken over 20/1 too. Just didn't make a move on it and stayed with Osasuna ML instead. Was a bad choice as the match progressed, they were there for nil-nil and got it.

Barca's not in such bad shape I'd say. They lost against an in-form team. Alarm bells not quite ringing so loudly but we'll have to wait til UCL group is done to see just how bad the damage is.

God, I don't even want to discuss another defeat for the Catalans, although I, along with Barsa, are falling to the bottom ... and feeling that this is my worst round of all the last, it would seem that this weekend the favorites should not have lost, but what can I do. I was especially upset with Sevilla, and they have the same state of affairs in the C'League, (tomorrow I'll bet on this club for the last time, and if they draw again or lose, I will forget about them for a long time).

Actually it's not only you, I'm sure many of the participants in this pool get the same result too. I didn't check all the results, but while I personally get a lot of reds but my position on the board doesn't change, at least I can assume they got bad results like I did too. @Trofo yeah Coutinho was a bad deal for us. No hard feelings for the player himself but the club just found every possible way to screw ourselves with him and we did it. Played for us, played against us and won, won UCL with another club and we paid Liverpool 20 million for that. GENIUS.

I lost on Barca as usual, but like you all said, no surprise at all. We're lucky Real only got 1 point. But we can't be lucky all the time.

If it's true Koeman getting sacked then it is a warcry for them that its time to straighten up and sail right with this removal of a problem for the club.
~snip

Koeman is official sucked
what a mid-week in Spain, Sevilla draw, Barca lost (although that was to be expected, Rayo is really in good form, and Barca is pretty bad), Real goal-less draw with Osasuna

somehow skipped betting yesterday, and feels great after seeing results Smiley
four points in the pool so far is also looking good, with all favorites down, there was two picks on Barca draw, but no-one goes with a Rayo win, and whole pool was with Sevilla to win

Same for Ole.
These big clubs need something done to change their outlook and salvage what is left of their season.
Real Madrid ruined my bet today so am sour at this pitiful performance with the only match I didn't have set for a draw.

Barca losing to Rayo was was the last nail, and Koeman finally got sacked. Really hope it is true this time, should be since my local source cites Barcelona official decision.

Not sure who will be willing to take over the bench in this situation. It seems like very risky job with many pitfalls and very small chance of success since success for club like Barca is measured only with titles and they are not ready for that.

Anyway, whole game week full of strange results, bookies will be counting profits for some time  Shocked

In other game Betis won 4:1 against Valencia.Well, such big win is something unexpected.

I think I had Betis to win in the Pool too, they've been really having it so far this season and I was convinced they'll win the game, but the margin is surreal.

So, Barcelona will travel to Vallecas to play Rayo, they haven't won an away game in the league so far, they'll miss a couple of key players like Frankie and Fati, and Rayo are unbeaten at home (4wins)...gonna be an interesting evening, lads  Roll Eyes  Rayo +1.0 ahc @1.6 is value 👍
Tempting but if I go for Rayo, I go outright, and still, not tasty enough.

Whereas Osasuna, who gets this guy back into form, are 11/1 Wink

Rayo win with Falcao goal - I think such scenario was simply written in the stars. They are doing very well this season and it was difficult to expect that Barca will win tonight.
Before game Barcelona on social media shared video from Barca win against Rayo somewhere 10 years ago. For me it seems that now they only can live sharing old good memories.

Can’t believe how bad Barcelona are at the moment. I guess they’ve had so much success over the last 15 or so years & every good thing comes to an end. They are a massive club though, they won’t be in the wilderness for long. There’s been a reliance on Messi for so long, obviously there would be a drop off, he couldn't be running the team there until he was 60. Maybe now he’s gone they can build the team around Pedri or something.

The main target this season is to get CL football for next season & at this stage it looks like even that will be tough. The Barca model wasn’t sustainable, the obscene wages & leveraging of debt, it was going to come crashing down at some point. They will be back though but it might take some time. As a Liverpool fan I have experience in long periods of mediocrity but just like Liverpool they can get back to the top, patience is required though.
If not terrible management by previous board and awful financial situation, departure of Messi wouldn't be such painful. Now club wasn't ready for such thing. Yeah, we will be back to glory sooner or later, but patience is needed. It's just one season and it's already difficult for us, then how Arsenal fans should feel? Cheesy

I can see them putting in another right before half the way things are looking.

yeah, Barca has the ball, but Rayo seems as they will score another one, prior to Barca score an equilazer
it is a tough period for Barca, Rayo is in good form, Falcao scored tonight, he is playing solid football this season, and he is a real leader in Rayo team, they could see at European competition place, if they keep up playing like this until the end of the season

I am looking forward to Barca game tonight and I am quite sure it will be another tough game for them. Rayo is in a good form and I expect them to score, Barca should also be good for at least a one goal so my favorite BTTS is in play here.

I understand that supporters are pissed but it is not ok to harass Koeman. Man paid couple of M from his own pocket to get out of his previous contract so he could come to Barca. If that is true and I believe it is, he deserves every cent of his contract.
Very true @trofo. They are in perfect form at home and the match is showing it against a weakened Barcelona squad.
It only took them 29' minutes to score their goal and leading in the match.
I can see them putting in another right before half the way things are looking.

embarrassing how they've been treating their players over the years. How does that make a supporter feel like?
they're fuming, that's why they take it out on Koeman...the other day a bunch of fans started harrassing him when he was leaving the stadium, they started yelling at him and kicking his car, he was with his wife btw :/
For this very reason is why I stayed away from this game. I have Rayo to win in my pick for the La Liga Pool because from what Barcelona showed during the El Clasico over the weekend. Real Madrid dominated them the entire match. Even if the scoreline didn't show it.
With the unbeaten record at home (which I didn't realize while I placed the 2-1 final win), it is hard to go against Rayo Vallecano this match.

That's not... nice, or logical. They ought to be harassing Barca's upper echelons, not the coach. Not that I condone physical harassment of any sort, but surely the know the true enemy. And yes, Koeman was the one on that famous Suarez phonecall, but he was doing the dirty job of someone else.

we have great fight tonight between Getafe and Celta, meaning that you will fight with your sleepiness if you decide to watch this one Smiley

Very happy with the result, even though I made a home win prediction, I went the other direction with betting, so win situation for me anyway. Barca bookies still insist on them being a clear favourite, so yeah, big bet signal against them could be for me.

Would not want to make Atletico supporters feel left out Smiley

Did you guys realize how unfair is Barca treatment of Coutinho contract clauses? There is clause that says that Barca has to pay 20M to Liverpool when Coutinho plays 100 games. He has played 99 games and there is fine print that only games where he plays more than 45 minutes count. Now you know why he gets in on half time Smiley I know they are short for money but this is just throwing away last crumbs of great club image.

Thanks man! This time I was early into the pick, and damn! I knew Liverpool made a lot of money from Coutinho's contract, and Barca stupidly agreed to it (we've been making money from this dude long after he left Anfield)... but I really hope someone steps in to fix that clause or just get it over with and play him one full game. NOW I know why he hasn't featured often enough or long enough too... embarrassing how they've been treating their players over the years. How does that make a supporter feel like? Carrying their club through thick and thin is one thing...

nevertheless, do not forget that we have a mid-week round from Tuesday to Thursday, and there are some interesting matches, Barca visiting Falcao's Rayo, that will be interesting after losing El Clasico, Rayo is playing better than expected this season, and BTTS could be a pick, whereas Barca to win is under question
And on that note, there is also new free bet challenge up for those mid week games. Go make you predictions on time. I opted for Atletico Madrid game this time since it is played on Thursday (more time to put in your predictions) and we had Barca-Real last time around. Would not want to make Atletico supporters feel left out Smiley
