It impressive to say the least, Atletico Madrid last two win in all competitions have had to come at the hardest way, Suarez happened to be the hero today.

Atletico Madrid themselves are not being at their usual best, especially defensively, they've conceded almost a goal per fixture so far, and they are nowhere close to playing their toughest fixtures.

They have been piling on the chances, though, maybe not last night but their 2 games before that are extremely uncharacteristic. Loading up on corners and shots, showing a willingness to use their fearsome front people. Maybe Simeone's allowing a bit more risk, hence the leak at the back.
That is my take on Atletico this season as well. It seems like Simeone finally decided to try driving without hand break pulled up and let his attacking players play. Maybe they are conceding more goals but their games are much more watchable and results are also good. I really hope they will continue with this new look, it is sort of embarrassing for La Liga Champion to be totally defense oriented. That maybe passes in Italy but I feel Spanish supporters are spoiled with Barca/Real attacking football domination.

That is very legit strategy. Was I discussing it with you last season? There was two teams from two different leagues, both without win in first 10 or 15 games. I decided to do just that, martingale until they win. They both won first game I played and I started with very small stake since martingale has a tendency of quickly getting out of hand. So successful experiment but not very profitable.

I don't recall, but yeah, it hasn't not worked for me and I do have a limit on martingale so even if it doesn't work I won't lose everything. The other streak I like is to bet against a winning streak (aka Man City or PSG to lose) but since I bet on big underdogs anyway, it's hard for me to see a unique opportunity in football but West Ham last season were a good candidate for this. They got on several 3/4 game winning runs, and then the bookies went crazy for them.

Non-scoring streaks also trigger me, Mane, Salah, and all have won me good bets but not super profitable as you say. Martingale gets very scary, very fast, and the risk with these negative streaks is that each addition makes it psychologically more difficult, which is why you only back people who haven't lost confidence. Kane not scoring for four games is an example of that -- and Arsenal should give away a penalty at least Wink

Getafe actually broke their perfect record last night, they did not scored against Atletico since 2011, in 20 games, they have 16 loses and 4 draws, without scoring any goals

Nice catch! The stuff you don't realise. Speaking of streaks, anyone betting on Everton against Liverpool finally had some joy last season after 23 games and over 10 years. I wonder how many Evertonians broke themselves on martingale...

So, most people are saying another draw or a slim Atletico win. And that's what I'm going for too...

But is anyone actually considering them losing their perfect record today? Not that perfect means anything. Ask Villareal with 4 draws.

and last time when they scored, they won 3:2, so I expected them to finish the job last night, after late first half goal, but Suarez did not thought the same, and scored two late goals to keep good score for Atletico

It's only 6 games but Getafe can't be feeling too good 6 games and 0 points... if I were betting, my money's going to martingale on them from next match onwards Wink

agree, that it is legit, but Getafe is my first pick to get relegated this season, and would skip it for now

Oh Suarez, you lovely, lovely beast. Pulled your team out of the dumps once again, of course Getafe's red card helped but they deserved it anyway, double the possession and attempts. Saved one of my bets so far and got me the 1.5 points from Superbru... just wish I'd stuck with 2-1.

Interesting club record too with Llorente the only Spaniard on the team, and the other 10 coming from 9 other different countries!

Getafe were fortunate to avoid relegation last season, but we can't assume it's too early to say they'll need more than luck to stay up this season if they're not even getting any points.

I can even imagine playing Real Madrid or Atletico Madrid at this stage... It's going to be a huge humiliation.

Honestly feel bad for them, just watching. This isn't even a case of sorry lack of talent, like when Arsenal tried to play their old game without the right personnel. This is as if, there's no more plan, no more philosophy, just "let's go out and try not to suffer too much".

You get my actual point about what Koeman is bringing to the squad, he's literally clueless. It's even understandable when there is a coach trying to implement he's own style or philosophy sometime without the right players or neeed squad, as we've seen with Klopp, Pep and Tuchel, even supposedly tactically outdated Mourinho does have a style he tries to integrate into a team. It's not the same with Koeman and he would make a bad squad worse over the course of the season, if allowed.

@Trofo, I am a Real Madrid guy. Been behind them since I was like 10 years old.  You can add that as my favorite time in the OP  Smiley
When last season Zidane failed to get a single title Ancelotti returned to the position of his former assistant coach Zidane. The return of Don Carlo is the beginning of a performance increase and a change in Los Blancos' playing style with him. Some players who were not so outstanding with Zidane, have become important players with Ancelotti, I am very sure this year Real Madrid will be able to lift the title again..

I don't really know what to say about this Barca game. Just sadness. Ok, Araujo goal saved from complete disaster. But players celebrated this goal like they scored it in Champions League final. But this goal probably means that Koeman won't be sacked for one week more...
I know that few upcoming seasons will be difficult for Barca, but this fact don't make watching their games less painful...
And referee, wtf he was doing today?
it is very unfortunate for a great team like barcelona, having to struggle to get one goal, and can only get one point, barcelona seems to have lost the spirit of the champion, in the european league barca was defeated by bayern munich, and in the league barca is now in 7th position standings, maybe the fate of barcelona will be the same as the fate of mariam london.. barcelona used to be feared but now barcelona is helpless..

heh! didn't expect Barca to shit the bed last night

rumours say that Pirlo, Cocu and even Gattuso are among the candidates to be the next manager...man, as a RM fan, i'm having a blast watching the barcelona circus...Andrea Pirlo, ffs!! 😂🤣

tonight with Getafe will be interesting, Getafe is probably top candidate for Segunda, and Atletico has two draws in a row, with solid teams, but wins were widely expected
Getafe are gonna lose today and then sack the manager, and it's only week 5 in the league...they'll definitely join granada, espanyol, celta and alaves in the relagation race

and Bilbao is playing Rayo, and @1.9 it is a solid value bet, Bilbao showed good form this season, had already played Barca and Atletico, and still does not have a defeat

I'm really not sure about the Over 2.5, but I'd expect Barca to win the game too...
0-1 down HT
bookies have the Over @1.6, i see value here cos i have no doubts they can turn things around (Granada are just bad), but tbh, the damage is done, Barca are wounded and everyone knows it. Look at Sociedad, Getafe and now Granada, every team arrives at the Camp nou knowing that they no longer need to play defensively to get a good result, there's no fear, only disrespect to one of the juggernauts of europe (during their golden era)

It's the draw they'd have to settle for, it's really pathetic what have become of the Barcelona team, not even the slightest of attacking alternatives is available for the team, Imagine substituting Pique and playing him as the centre striker's position, lol right ? at least it paid off, as he was directly involved with build up for the equalizers.

Ps don't forget to put your predictions for gameweek 6 on Superbru because it will be played midweek starting from Tuesday to Wednesday.
Congrats on winning the challenge. This time even I managed to snag a free bet if I did not grade it wrong  Shocked Happened before so you never know.

New one is already up so go make your predictions guys. This one is all about midweek games so you don't have much time. This will be busy week.

Barca should win easy today, right? My bet is on over 2.5 goals which can pass easy if Barca plays well or if they are bad and Granada scores. Just need one quick goal to open it up.

I'm really not sure about the Over 2.5, but I'd expect Barca to win the game too...

I think Koeman is finally growing some balls with Pique being on the bench, week in week out seeing Pique starting the game except being unfit, I ask how he merited the spot with his terrible form.

Dembele is still out injured, while Ansu Fati is still battling with match fitness, but maybe Coutinho would step up today and give Depay a huge support upfront.

@casperBGD @tomahawk9

Real was on my final leg for an acca that Roma already condemned, so the result wasn't really going to do anything for me (except, well, I would have gotten insurance back).

But I'm going for a really predictable Barca win tonight. I backed Granada to the hilt last season but I feel like they're fading quickly already.

I'd bet on Valencia any day against Real Madrid
and i wouldn't blame you

i hate it when we play against Valencia  Lips sealed  They're a bunch of prats conference league tier team who ALWAYS turn into absolute football gods against us and put up a tremendous fight at Mestalla...If it wasn't for the dealiest duo in the league so far Vini-Benz (and, also, that RM spirit 'hasta el final' battle cry), we would've lost that match...

anyway, tomorrow: Barcelona - Granada...when was the last time Barca played on a friday night? easy win for Koeman & the boys?

not sure what was missing, courage or strength (probably both), but we should end it last night with a win
at least I got some bets, and exact score in the pool for the match

but, it showed that we will fight for CL spot this season, it was a good match and I expect more of the same this season

regarding Barca - Granada, I am waiting for a strong performance by Maximiano on Granada goal, could bring me some serious value rare player as reward in Sorare, and expect nothing spectacular from Barca, goalless draw would be great
