That is very legit strategy. Was I discussing it with you last season? There was two teams from two different leagues, both without win in first 10 or 15 games. I decided to do just that, martingale until they win. They both won first game I played and I started with very small stake since martingale has a tendency of quickly getting out of hand. So successful experiment but not very profitable.
I don't recall, but yeah, it hasn't not worked for me and I do have a limit on martingale so even if it doesn't work I won't lose everything. The other streak I like is to bet against a winning streak (aka Man City or PSG to lose) but since I bet on big underdogs anyway, it's hard for me to see a unique opportunity in football but West Ham last season were a good candidate for this. They got on several 3/4 game winning runs, and then the bookies went crazy for them.
Non-scoring streaks also trigger me, Mane, Salah, and all have won me good bets but not super profitable as you say. Martingale gets very scary, very fast, and the risk with these negative streaks is that each addition makes it psychologically more difficult, which is why you only back people who haven't lost confidence. Kane not scoring for four games is an example of that -- and Arsenal should give away a penalty at least
It impressive to say the least, Atletico Madrid last two win in all competitions have had to come at the hardest way, Suarez happened to be the hero today.
Atletico Madrid themselves are not being at their usual best, especially defensively, they've conceded almost a goal per fixture so far, and they are nowhere close to playing their toughest fixtures.
They have been piling on the chances, though, maybe not last night but their 2 games before that are extremely uncharacteristic. Loading up on corners and shots, showing a willingness to use their fearsome front people. Maybe Simeone's allowing a bit more risk, hence the leak at the back.
Getafe actually broke their perfect record last night, they did not scored against Atletico since 2011, in 20 games, they have 16 loses and 4 draws, without scoring any goals
Nice catch! The stuff you don't realise. Speaking of streaks, anyone betting on Everton against Liverpool finally had some joy last season after 23 games and over 10 years. I wonder how many Evertonians broke themselves on martingale...
