Barca is even more of a mystery but I will never play against Barca on Camp Nou but away games are whole different story. Barca was always good at home no matter the team but they often had trouble away so I will try to cash on that.

Barcelona is no longer invincible at Camp Nou. Osasuna beat them in the penultimate matchday last season, the same day Barca lost the league after horrendous error from Bussi. Puig who was the best midfielder of Barcelona against Alaves in the last LaLiga game of the previous season is no longer in the picture. He was sidelined in Champions League by Setien which is understandable due to his acute experience but I was sure he will be starter in Koeman's Laliga Starting XI this season. But it turns out Koeman is more conservative coach than Setien and doesn't even want Puig in the squad, let alone a starter.

Two days left for the first game of the season and Barca hasn't sign any defender. The team only got Roberto at the name of Right Back. Suarez shipped, Vidal shipped, Semedo shipped, Rakitic shipped but signed nobody. Being Barca fan, I have no idea how we gonna perform this season, what to expect from the team. I am no longer sure if we could even make to the CL spot this season. But let's hope for the best. My pick for Barca vs Villarreal game is 3-1 which I entirely made out of emotional connection to Barca. But apart from this game, I was pretty comfortable making picks for rest of the games. I think I will be among Top 3 in this round as well.

By the way, @Trofo would it be nice if we include the favorites of every pool participant in the OP? I would love to know which team does the other participants support.

It's Real I'm expecting to drop points. They haven't scored more than 2 goals for 10 games consecutively now, and I do recall a teeter totter last season early on. Maybe time to bank on some good value bets on both Barca and Real?
I was thinking about that myself but decided to wait a bit more. It is still early days and there is no telling how Real will look. I know if I bet against them they will have a penalty in 89th minute and Ramos will score it Smiley

Bump! time for the Round 3 picks!

Finally, all the teams are back from the break. I'm expecting the main favorites to win this weekend, except for Barcelona, I think that if there's a time for Villareal to get some points at the Camp Nou, it's now, when the catalan club is surrounded by pure chaos and a toxic atmosphere

Well I hope you're wrong, I have some pretty decent parlays all cleared now and waiting a week for Barcelona to win. I could cash out of course, but I have a bad, bad problem with cashout (I never see the point haha).

Oops I dropped to 5th spot after last night;)

Hahay is still top, the Spanish bastardo but not bad for LTU for making last night's draw happen. I'm personally hoping Real stumble so this is a good result for me pending Barca's first match, although I do seem to recall Real also having a shitty start last season, so nothing can be said about this so far.

La Liga isn't getting much attention while big clubs aren't playing yet. And schedule looks very strange so far. I don't get why Real will play on Sunday, while, Barca, Atletico, Sevilla, Getafe and Elche will miss this round.
I'm a bit surprised that only @webtricks backed Celta against Valencia tonight. IMO, there is only big name left from Valencia and nothing more. Yeah, they won first game, but didn't played well and today they were outplayed by Celta. I expect to see Valencia somewhere in the middle of table or even near to relegation zone.
Villarreal looks a bit disappointing so far, considering squad that they have. Draw against Huesca nad difficult win against Eibar isn't something impressive. But it's just start of season, so it's nothing surprising that teams aren't showing best what they can.

I was thinking of adding one more paid spots but felt like this structure is better, if you would like to see another paid spot (lower rewards for the rest) then now is the time to speak up. If you have some other ideas feel free to share. In case we get another sign up I am adding a prize for 4th place for sure.

After game week 4 I will add prizes to the OP and then there will be no changes. What you guys want to do in case La Liga gets canceled (Corona or some other shit)? I propose we pay out the rewards if more than half season gets played and return the entry fee in case it does not.

Perfect structure, no change needed. 3 paid spots are perfect considering 13 participants. 4 will be too much.

As of cancellation, I don't think there's much possibility of that so don't worry. We will discuss more about that if we cross that path.

Round 1 was awful for me, both here as well in PL pool. I tried to be over ambitious and it backfired. Hahay had a superb week! 11.5 points in just 7 matches, not bad man!

But this week I had been cautious in making the picks. I think I will grab 10+ points in round 2. I used my prior La Liga experience to analyse before picking. Just for a fact, I was surprised no one else picked win for Celta De Vigo. Celta is tough team to beat at home, even Barca only managed 1 points in June after dominating the whole game. On the contrary, Valencia away from home is awful. If my memory is right then Valencia has failed to win any away La Liga game in 2020!

Sevilla and Atletico Madrid will postpone their matches for this weekend, and from all the other matches in this round, maybe the most interesting will be in Sociedad, between two royal clubs, home one and Madrid

Sociedad is always a tough ground for Madrid, but they have a lot of injured players at the moment, and two in quarantine, so do think that Real could start well there, and win the match, @1.72 is not a bad quote on them, will put them on my "whole weekend" ticket

Villareal is playing with Eibar and they could make their first win this season, after having just 1:1 in first home match with Huesca, but quote value is not that good @1.57

I guess the problem is not a lack of fans but a lack of crypto users who are also interested in La Liga?

It's a lack of users posting in the gambling sections that do actually place bets or are even interested in football/sports in general Wink Most people just post here, because they are forced to by their signature campaign requirements. In most threads you only find general discussions about a league or sport, but rarely specific bets, let alone proper analysis, it's just bla bla most of the time. My guess is, that only 5% of people posting in gambling boards do in fact place some bets from time to time (or play Casino, Poker etc.).

EPL is quite big here, because it's the biggest league. There are quite a lot people from UK here and sportsbetting has a long tradition there. Spain isn't a country, where sportsbetting is that popular and as pointed out earlier here, lots of spaniards struggle with english.

And then the entry fee is too high for lots of people as well.

This one I can agree 100% with. The huge EPL thread used to have a few names that I added to my ignore list because they were simply commenting by copypasting news from places, even on matches that played days ago. I think the gambling signature campaign managers have to at least make sure their posters are real gamblers, I mean, since most of them want to post in gambling section.

So let's have a think about how to make this pool more enticing in future, from now on I will try to mention it as much as I can. Entry fee is high for us in Asia (if my friends knew I put 1 mbtc on a bet even they would say I'm a big roller because that will buy 2 people a whole week of meals!), but we have to put up with it, I'm sure in Europe or Spain it isn't AS expensive!

ohm and about the low number of participants here, i kinda expected it, not because of the spanish-audience not visiting this board, but because La liga isn't that popular around here so i figure people were going to either skip this pool or join the EPL one

I do find it strange too, honestly. I'm myself a Barca fan and I don't speak Spanish at all and I know judging from tshirts alone (which even I myself don't wear) I see everyone is/was a Ronaldo and Messi fan from years ago, so I expected to see much more interest in gambling. I mean in real life every El Clasico match sees as many fans watching in the shops even more than any derby in EPL. I guess the problem is not a lack of fans but a lack of crypto users who are also interested in La Liga?

oh man, i got 4 points in total in week 1! wth?! 😭🤣  a bit late but, good job, hahay, for getting the 1st yellow cap

I've had weeks in EPL where I got 2 or 3 points, usually when there are so many draws and I only get right outcomes (I hardly pick draws!). Not sure so much about how it'll work out but I may need to pick more draws if the league is like that.

he! Sojourner and upsets, iconic duo in this board and the pools 👍 you're gonna put that prediction in a bet slip next weekend? some good odds in the bookies right now, although we could see some other tempting upsets w/ higher odds (the type you like in a single bet) in Serie A or PL

Thank you toma, I'm very proud of that association, and sadly, haven't got a good upset pick this season yet haha. So not a problem of Spanish audience, but just not interested in football on the forum huh?

I mean, I believe that. Sportsbet seems to have a huge Brazilian betting market but not on crypto forums. Language I guess. Let's see if there is better traction next season!

I am sure there is some people that have missed this pool but mostly it is as your wrote above. I am participating in Premier League, La Liga and Serie A pools already and I will also take part in Champions League pool when it gets going. Choosing that many results can get a bit tedious and I guess it drops your chances to win prizes if you are researching games. I am picking them by gut feeling so I don't care Smiley

Yeah, I'm feeling the fatigue a little to be honest. I do see EPL and CL as my mainstay and La Liga and Serie A are just, well, experiments for me.

Good call on all those finalisations, Trofo. I think for a first edition 13 players really isn't such a bad start, I'm honestly surprised not more people are in it but I guess Spanish-speaking players don't really come into this section of the forum?

Put in my 2nd round picks already, including a nice upset;)

Don't think the season will get canceled due to Corona though; they have already higher numbers than in spring now and these hygiene concepts work very well in general. Too much money involved Wink

I don't think it will get cancelled as well. I am expecting a couple of games to be moved to other dates when some teams end up with several sick players but no more than that. As you said there is too much money involved and show must go on Smiley

I included a sentence regarding cancellation just because we had a discussion in last year PL pool what to the when league was stopped and it is difficult to come to conclusion when money is directly involved and there is already a lot of players out of prize race. Better to account for it and not need it.

I am fine with that - probably my only chance to get something in return here^^ Don't think the season will get canceled due to Corona though; they have already higher numbers than in spring now and these hygiene concepts work very well in general. Too much money involved Wink

Prize structure looks good as well. Thanks again for taking care of things.

First round of matches is over and I guess who wanted to join the pool has already joined so the time has come for me to finalize rewards structure. Logfiles is our latest addition and I am happy he managed to get all the predictions in even though I was half an hour late to supply pool link Smiley This now confirms that if you enter predictions and join the pool at later date you will have all the points as if you played from day 1. This mechanic can possibly be abused (somebody waits until half the season passed and then joins only if he would be in the lead) so I am putting a deadline to our pool.

Pool is open for joining until the end of game week 4.

There is 13 of us now and it is probably the final number so here comes the prizes Smiley
We have 0.0425 BTC in the pool, 0,0325 from fees and 0,01 thanks to our sponsor BitcoinPRBuzz.com

Prize structure:
First place: 0,02 BTC
Second place: 0,012 BTC
Third place: 0.005 - 0.006 BTC *
Highest round score among all the rounds: 0.0045BTC

*All the transaction fees will be paid from Third place prize since this is the one I boosted the most from my initial idea. This rule will only change in case BTC tx shoot trough the roof and get to be more than 1mBTC.

Disclaimer:
There will be no sharing of the prizes, prizes will be paid out as per Superbru ranking. Even if 2 participants have same points, Superbru has some tie breakers implemented so the prize goes to the participant that is listed first.

I was thinking of adding one more paid spots but felt like this structure is better, if you would like to see another paid spot (lower rewards for the rest) then now is the time to speak up. @ty
What was the prize again for the worst performance in a round ? Can't seem to find that information in first post Grin jk

The games in this round weren't easy to predict, but I am still sitting at zero points Tongue Kudos to hahay for getting 9pts already, thats quite impressive. LaLiga has always been a league I didn't find that interesting, but don't know why. I think there are a lot of boring games (apart from the obviously exciting ones in general, i.e. RM vs Barca) and the atmosphere in the stadiums is not catching me as well. But I also joined here to get some more knowledge about this league and seems there is a lot of work to be done in that department.
Well, first round was really difficult to predict. Mainly because biggest teams haven't played yet - usually it's source of easy points. Also, there was many tricky games like Valladolid - Real Sociedad or Eibar - Celta without obvious favorite. Upsets like Huesca draw with Villarreal didn't helped too. Valencia didn't played well, but somehow managed to win derby. Wouldn't be surprised if Levante will finnish above them.

Yeah, they're never easy for me to be fair, even though I do follow La Liga somewhat as a Barca fan, but yeah well done hahay. It really is impressive. I'm just going to have to be happy with my own performance for now at second place;) Three whole points from 1st to 2nd, and three whole points from me to third:P
