Hello darkness my old friend... I can't believe that Barca didn't managed to score against mighty Rayo Vallecano 3 games in a row. We struggled to make something really dangerous and when we had moments, it ended with shots to 20th row of stands. Simply let Frenkie to play... 2nd half was a bit better, but still ,noy something special.
Real will start season against Almeria, I expect that that it will be easy walk in park for them.
I watched just last 30 minutes of the game. Frenkie was unbelievably good and they are stupid if they want to get rid of him. Better loose half of the team than him. He was playing that deep playmaker perfectly. Busquets and Kessie were awful thiugh.

How did Pedri and Raphinha look? They got subbed before I tuned in and I expect great things from them this season.

Barca 0 - 0 Rayo. New season, same shit

Hello darkness my old friend...

Sevilla and Valencia, rug pullers of La Liga Wink
you know they're in big trouble when they start selling their star players to mid-table teams in the premier league (e.g. Diego Carlos to Villa and Guedes to Wolves)

I guess I dodged a bullet with Sevilla ML, as I settled for the Over 1.5 instead which was of reasonable value. Osasuna won the game, I couldn't catch up with majority of game, I could watch the last 10 minutes, but Osasuna were still in quite comfortable despite leading the game and didn't look to be under much pressure.
~snip

still, interesting that no one had Osasuna to win in the pool, despite having 2,40 odds on Sevilla
Sevilla will be, most probably, most overrated team this season, and they will hardly end-up in top4 (really hope for Valencia to replace them, but Betis or Villareal are probably better picks)

had draw in the pool, but that was just on overrated Sevilla expectations

more matches to follow

I likely would be going for a Sevilla win for value or Over 1.5 goals @ 1.43.
that Sevilla win @2.4 looks like a trap and right now i'm like one of those characters in the cartoons when they see massive red button with the big sign 'Danger' on it, i wanna push that damn button and place that bet lol,, i'm being tested, must resist

Waiting for Barca news, will be very difficult for them if they don't manage to register new signings.
no worries. Fourth level activated: https://www.fcbarcelona.com/en/club/news/2736062/fc-barcelona-official-announcement

they'll be able to register the new players and maybe sign marcos alonso

I have heard several people criticize the board for their actions so far, but to be honest I really don't think there was much they could have done, It was either they keep trusting on them young players without any form of investment, but the club would lose more value if they should become less competitive in the league and Europe over the next few seasons, I wouldn't want the club to become the AC Milan of the last decade, and live solely off their past achievements, and they wouldn't stop the debts from increasing either ways but we've seen so far is that despite the club crisis it's still able to attract players of the highest caliber. If the investments so far is able to bring the club back to the level it attained some years back, I'm sure the ends would then justify the means, and if not that level of which the club have attained in those years, there's no ways the rights/shares of the clubs sold so far would have been worth anywhere near those value.

I still thought Sevilla should take home the cake last night (or tomorrow morning where I am at the moment) but you know the drill for them.  Lose a game or two, then get a string of victories. Build up hope, build up expectation. Get the media excited and pundits confident. Then pull the rug out from under everyone's feet.

So the strategy its, keep selling "club assets"?. As i said this i have to say, really good deal (if not backdoors in the contract) 100 million euros for a 24% of BarcaStudios, seems really good.
And what its BarcaStudio hahahaha?

I don't see Sevila winning today but it is very difficult to judge first games of the season, we have absolutely nothing to go with. Both to score could be an option but still risky.  I am skipping this one for betting and going with a scoring draw in our pool.

Enough about Serie A, we have another topic for that after all. La liga starts tomorow with Sevilla game, so make sure you have made your picks.

I'm quite anticipating the new season, It's been a long time coming. Osasuna playing at home against Sevilla, I know it's the first game of the new season, and it can be really tricky to place bet ML outrightly on any team for the start, however, Sevilla's ML @ almost 2.50 Odds is having me salivating, but can they pull it off ? I know Sevilla have lost quite a number of important players in the team, but they've also made a few notable signings too, Isco on a free transfer from Real Madrid and Telles from Man Utd are the most significant ones imo, Isco is out for tomorrow games as per the coach's decision.

I likely would be going for a Sevilla win for value or Over 1.5 goals @ 1.43.

Barca will probably destroy Rayo in first round

I really don't know what to will happen with Barcelona vs Levante, Barcelona are currently in a race against time to have all their new signings registered with the league authorities and it's about 36 hours left until the game, although as per the rules the team can register its players as late a 5 minutes before the match, but given the nature of the transfer that could make it easier for Barcelona to register the players, I'd say they'd all miss the deadline to be available to game.

Barcelona lost both fixtures to Rayo Vallecano last season, so if the new signings are not available for the match, history could repeat itself.

Will we see the Valencia finally recovering his form, after years of strugglin?

let's not overreact Valencia form, it is basically shitty since corona started (that match with Atalanta, after which whole Bergamo was closed under covid started our decline)

and yeah, it was two and a half grimmy seasons, but this one can be better, hopefully, having an easy start against Girona

and there is three matches per day, on Saturday, Sunday and Monday, is that a new scheme for whole season, or just this round?
get ready to see a strange calendar in la liga (and other leagues too), you can thank the World Cup in november for that (:

La liga starts tomorow with Sevilla game, so make sure you have made your picks.
what do they have in store for us this season? You look at their team sheet and you think "they're title contenders and they're gonna start the new campaign with a comfortable win, i'm sure of it!", but then they remind you how shit they are by losing 6-0 in a friendly game just a week ago... I'll back Sevilla in the pool, but I can’t help thinking they could shit the bed right from the get go  Roll Eyes

not sure why there is more participants in La Liga than Serie A, it should be closer, or same number, but what a heck, there are people that simply do not like catenaccio style
Catenaccio? Who is playing it Serie A now? In last decade such style basically disappeated from this league. I'm lazy to look for previous season stats, but in recent seasons average number of goals in Serie A was way above 2.5 and even close to 3. But people still have old stereotypes about catenaccio and avoid this league because of it.
That is the best thing about Serie A, everybody, including bookmakers are seing them as low scoring league and odds on goals and both to score are much better than in other top leagues. I have been profiting from that these last couple of seasons.

Yes i agree catenaccio dispear like five years ago, the Serie A now spin without any center, we can see 0-0 like 7-2, i remember seeing Serie A when i was a child and it was totally diferent.
They never recover after Ac Milan and Inter falls, before italian teams were very strong in europe but now they are very weak. Even the Juventus cant win any UCL.

I don't have access to my escrow wallet for another week so I am not able to check if somebody maybe paid and forgot to send me pm. That happened once in all the years I am running the pools so I hope everything is fine.

not counting, but it does seem that you have all summer long vacation Smiley
nevertheless, enjoy it

hopefully, Valencia will have better season, it is hard to put first round picks based on friendly matches, but we have to start somewhere

There is only 14 of us in Serie A pool so far which is biggest discrepancy ever between my 2 pools. We always were about same number.

Maybe because of last season people are avoiding Serie A because the results are very random there and they don't want to play the lottery? In any case, I personally feel comfortable - after the Premier League pool, where there are so many competitors, it will be cosy in the Serie A pool  Cheesy
