Good to see it end up well for you Trofo. I hate doing that, to be honest, big final bet to wipe the slate clean, but I fully understand the feeling my man, do it way too often since last season haha.
So it'll be Croatia, Italy, Netherlands and... I would say, Portugal? (I think Trofo's right, they'll play for a pragmatic draw but might even win it).
Speaking of Trofo's calculations, of course, we can't compare directly because different countries have different developmental attributes but to make it worse, France's 2 M footballers probably have even more value because of the development facilities the nation has. So we can revel in their shame!
The last time I came up with something similar was 2 Olympics ago. A kid from my village (my people's population is about 180,000 people, though we represent a much bigger country) won silver at diving... we aren't known swimmers, never mind medallists, certainly not divers, don't even have a pool to practise in, but apparently she used a deep end of a river and somehow outperformed in the finals.
Anyway I recall reading also that Chinese divers across the whole academy were over 1 million. 5 times more than my entire population. Not the type to feel proud about something I got nothing to do with but felt pretty chuffed about the kid too!
Whoops, veering off.
Lovren is starting for Croatia - which probably means that Dalić is still on the fence and unsure whether it will be him or Šutalo alongside Gvardiol in Qatar.
I don't like how our team is set up for the game - but it is still a team that should dominate against Austria. We have lost the first game against them in a disappointing way, I think we won't underestimate them again. After all, a win takes us to the semifinals.
Welcome to the semifinals... all the bloody way in June! Missed this thread by a brainfart and wrote somewhere else initially heh. I still like seeing Lovren play, but was sweet that he got the goal too!
