First of all, it's been a really great journey in the pool. Congrats @Ulven!

You made a huge comeback on the final days and won the pool. I'm sad for losing the lead on the last day but it was a lot of fun from the beginning to the end.

Happy for Spain, but not sure I should be, because they will then have to play all the way at the end of next season instead of taking a break. Maybe worth it for them though especially young guys.

I didn't realize this actually that BTTS is higher for national football, it's not a market I usually look at but I have to admit since discussing in the forum and seeing a lot of things from you, buwaytress, especially I find myself betting on things I never looked at before.

Nope, did not forget Erlić - I wrote about him a few posts before the one you quoted (or possibly in another thread, not sure).
They were good, I agree. I still feel that with Erlić we've seen too little to be sure and there's not much time left for further testing.

Therefore I feel that Lovren will take that 3rd spot, I just hope he won't take the 2nd.

That was pretty stunning and duly well deserved too, I never even really check my picks for the remainder of the games, now I understand how people when you drop all the momentum very early in the pool, and it's practically impossible to play catch up except you're going literally against every expected pick with the hope it hits.

At least the bore-fest is finally and in 3 days, we'll be talking about club side football yet again 😊 and my heart goes out to the teams with a couple of players picking a knock or an injury over the period.

Congratulations to all winners,the big prize got home to Ulven,it is strange when you think that he was not between the favorites at all when the last games of this week started,this shows that playing in such pools is always full of emotions.It was for me as I was fighting for that fifth place until tonight where the scoring goal of Czech ruined my 3 points in that game and Spain winning was totally unexpected for me especially after they horrible performance against Switzerland,yet they managed to qualify for the play offs.

I enjoyed this pool and look forward to other ones,good luck everybody.

Another point from the game for me was the fact that Maguire managed to get into the headlines as well as almost every other goal scorer or those that impacted the game, positively. There were so many talks about him and several post advising him to try out other sport, perhaps golfing or UFC 


It's looking likely to be goalless between Spain, with barely 8 minutes left to play, Spain have been better side 2nd half, despite Portugal's commendable performance in the first 45 minutes.

Did not see this post from crypofrka before. I think Lovren is 4th in the line at the moment. Both of you are forgetting Erlic who was excellent in tandem with Šutalo. Best performance from Croatia defense in a very long time for those two games against France and Denmark.

Guardiol is probably secure because of the hype and playmaking skills, while second CB will be chosen between Šutalo and Erlic with Lovren maybe in rotation for last 20 minutes when result is in our favour and we want a bit more experience on the pitch.

The last time I came up with something similar was 2 Olympics ago. A kid from my village (my people's population is about 180,000 people, though we represent a much bigger country) won silver at diving... we aren't known swimmers, never mind medallists, certainly not divers, don't even have a pool to practise in, but apparently she used a deep end of a river and somehow outperformed in the finals.

Anyway I recall reading also that Chinese divers across the whole academy were over 1 million. 5 times more than my entire population. Not the type to feel proud about something I got nothing to do with but felt pretty chuffed about the kid too!

I agree to your comparison as Spain is better than Serbia but the problem is that Spain had a lot of difficulties in the game against Switzerland at home so Portugal in the same context comparison like you did it is much stronger than Switzerland and the fact that they lost against Serbia means the tensions were much higher than they are in the Nations League.Portugal is also the team that won this league in the inaugural year of 2019 and why not them to qualify again for the play offs phase of this league in 2022.

Swiss has goal in first 15' minutes in five of last six matches home in Nations league, so should happen again

Portugal is good team, but they also needed home draw to qualify to WC against Serbia, and lost, and Spain is way better than Serbia (although I would like it differently)

You can most likely rest assured that Portugal vs Spain will be a both teams to score yes as both teams will play normally and will not underestimate this game,against Switzerland Spain completely underestimated the game and they played extremely poorly,they just kept ball possession but every other dangerous stat was in favor of Switzerland which won the game.

Also I expect a both teams to score yes in Switzerland vs Czech Republic game and of course a Switzerland win after seeing their great game play against Spain.

It is very dangerous in national football to play both to score but that is why we have better odds. For instance I was quite sure this game will have at least 4 goals, even went for 2:2 in the pool and odds were 1.88. Great value and finally it passed. I was also sure France would not lose day before and I expected more goals from some other teams.

That is why I ended up so deep in red. This bet is enough to bring me close to zero, so skipping betting on this competition and waiting for club football to resume.

You must have felt so happy when England finally scored. After not getting a single field goal from the entire tournament they managed to get 3, but also, they let in 3. Both teams probably spoke to each other and agreed they should score many goals to make sure their bosses stayed in their jobs lol.

We Turks really love chaos. People were talking about sacking the coach even before the Luxembourg match. They didn't even concede any goal in the group then. After these results this kind of talks have increased in number. In my opinion, there will be a change of coach for Turkey national team in the near future. The biggest reason for it is that the media want to see a local and more prominent name to work with the team rather than a failure of the current coach.


Yesterday Trofo made a calculation here. If I make a similar calculation there are 13985 men who are aged between 15 and 54 living in Faroe Islands which Turkey lost to. The level of the shock has been big in the country as we lost to a country that is having a difficulty in even finding people for a match on astro pitch.

Today I made short break from betting after bad run. And seems that it wasn't bad decision. It already looked that England will have another disgraceful performance, but they managed to make comeback from 0:2 to 2:2 and even took a lead. Not for long, Pope made big mistake and let Havertz to score easy goal. Any way, today's game showed that England is capable to play.
I put draw on Hungary - Italy game, but somehow I didn't realized that Italy still have chance to take 1st place in group and win for them would be important today. And they did it.
Interesting, inside drama in Turkish team isn't something new. But this time I guess they simply didn't looked into game seriously, after they alread had guaranted 1st place in group.

well, it was really fascinating to see the live reactions of England fans on social media tonight... everyone went from "this team is a disgrace" after the 0-2, to "It's coming home, lads!!1" after the big comeback,, and then again "absolute disgrace!" with the 3-3. What a roallercoaster 

it was a fluke. 1.3 odds not hitting, meh it is what it is, happens to best of us. No reason to stop tbh, as long as it is money you can afford to lose, keep going and you'll hit the next one 

hell of a game! Not the best result but at least it'll boost the morale of England NT and the fans,, Sure the team failed to put an end to the winless streak, but at least they were able to find the net, they showed some good bits of exciting football and there's some hope that this team can improve.

Such an insane game by England and Germany tonight!

They made us experience every kind of emotion tonight.    England's comeback was unbelievably awesome! While you are 2-0 behind and defensively weak it isn't easy for you to pull yourself together and fight for the win still. But England did it in a very short time period. But this was still not enough to cover their weaknesses in defense. This time because of Nick Pope's mistake Germany found the equalizer and didn't let them win 3-2.

Maybe Maguire and Pope didn't deserve the win but the rest of the team deserved this after turning the game around superbly. But they had to make do with a 3-3 draw I'm afraid.
