Seems that I'm not alone who completely forgot about this pool, so, thanks for reminder. When you play in so many pools, it's easy to forget something, especially after such long break. It was nice surprise for me to see that I'm on 3rd place.
@buwaytress, some bald predictions, I completely disagree about Poland - Netherlands prediction, but I think that backing Hungary makes sense, considering situation in group.

And just like that we're entering the last two Rounds of this pool. Just checked the full leaderboard and it looks like everyone's still in the race for the top 5 & rewards, that's cool, should make for an entertaining and nail-biting end to our pool (:

Now, who do you think is going to get relegated to Group B? England or France? I think both NT are going to get relegated but England will continue their miserable winless run, i just don't see them grabbing the 3 points against Germany or Italy  Lips sealed

Good thing my betting bank is already low so I will not loose much during international break.
lucky you.
The international break arrived right after i made a new deposit lol  Grin

I have almost forgotten we still have an existing pool for the nations league, I guess that's because of my position in the pool... This has got to be the worse international break I wanted to see, It came at the time where all other competitions is getting really interest and with most of the national teams is just a break and nothing significant to play for, going by how the bookies wrecked bettors over the weekend, it's probably bound to be an extended holiday for them Angry

Thanks for the reminder. I'd have lost my place if I forgot about making predictions.  Grin

That's nothing, just go for all the suprise results and look how your ranking in the world goes up. Nothing to lose and I am sure there will be quite a lot of surprises.

I would have forgotten about this one if not for the money on my escrow wallet. This way I get suprised every time I check it  for La Liga or Serie A pools  Grin

England do not deserve their reputation. Italy do not deserve either.
Finalists of Europe.
Both the leagues I spend the most time on.
Shameful!!
Actually, there is a reason why this is happening. You know, Football has changed a lot over the years and now football has basically become a game of fast running.
In the past everyone expected the great players to make some great runs and score some unbelievable solo goals.

But now football has become everything about passing. The mentality has also changed. It's basically like if you can just pass the ball to a player who is making a run for a through ball, why are you going to even bother making the run with the ball yourself. And this has changed very quickly in recent times. So the teams that are being able to adapt to this are doing well and others are not doing so well.

Actually though I saw some statistics I cannot remember where now someone posted on the forum at the end of the last season and EPL is actually NOT the fastest running or even the most distance covered, it was not even in top 10 in the world, if I recall correctly Spanish, American (USA and South America) teams have the most running and distance covered.

But this is the same places where you still have players expected to make great runs and do solo performance.

I agree about the passing though. Now it is not just passing back and forth, but also making the movements to get the pass.

Used to be about 1 or 2 really good passers now everyone has to pass well and also to make movements to help create the pass.

I still do not really see the correlation with why teams like England play shitty though because they have the most evolved forms of club football now.

Well, there is something that we cannot control, and that is that in football, as in any sport, anything could happen, in this case we see the case of Italy and England, which are countries that are icons in football, but they also fall, this it means that the other countries are not doing so badly, because nobody passes by pure good luck, they have to have something more, however I like to see that new countries are becoming very good in football, this means that for the next qualifiers for the World Cup, the powerful countries have to increase their style of play because this is becoming more and more competitive, I like it.

What the hell, England? Grin

This is really an insane result - no matter the fact they played with a mixed lineup.
Funnily enough - this is the first time England has conceded 4 goals at home since 1953 - when Hungary beat them 6-3.

Italy can send them a thank-you note, otherwise their 5-2 loss to Germany would be the topic of the day.
UEFA Nations League this season looks not friendly for England country trough passed four games just getting two points with two games getting draw and have lost twice from Hungary on home and away. I think England need to give warning for manager Gareth Southgate what his achievement so far although UEFA Nations League is not priority, but several time bad achievement become warning how he can improved level for England national country team. I think England have loss opportunity can pass to next round on UEFA Nations League after collecting two points only right now, left two match not enough to get points with Hungary have getting 7 points and looks difficult chance because left match against with Italy and Germany.
this is a warning for Gareth southgate where until now the England national team has not been able to achieve maximum results where England are currently slumped at the bottom of the standings by only collecting two points in the four matches they have played.even though this is only a friendly tournament but the performance is outstanding.England was shown to be very.disappointing, especially as they had to swallow the bitter pill at home when they were humiliated by their visitors Hungary with a score of 0-4, Gareth Southgate must immediately improve to determine their best composition ahead of the world cup next November

Haha totally totally pure disbelief. France was 1.55 to win this game and come on, that was supposed to be amazing value because the French desperately needed to win and Croatia was supposed to be lucky in the previous win not playing at their full strength.

Unfortunately for me,,, I did not continue to bet on Croatia but I should have. Really disappointed I went the other way AGAIN for a favorite and lost.

I also had France to get a narrow win but I think that Croatia deserved the win,in the last two games they are turning back to their normal being,a great team and they can beat anyone now.Denmark I think is the head of the group and without a doubt will continue to be so until the end of the competition.

No one can say that Croatia is or was lucky, yesterday night they completely dominated the game and the score maybe could have been even better. Most probably they will make it to the Nations League finals which as far as I know are planned for 2023.

Oh no I did not say Croatia was lucky that last game against France, but perhaps the one before that, a few fine moments and they were in. On the other hand I would not see any group stage result as an indicator of finals performance.

So you say Denmark will be winning the group, but Croatia will make it to finals? Which one? Only group winners in League A go to the finals Wink

The England national team has a bad history of such happenings. They had talents like Michael Owen and a couple of others some years ago and even at that time which for me personally the players were of better quality compared to the ones now the England national team suffered from the same mishap.Together they could not be a concrete team, they missed a lot of chances just because they thought to themselves there is time to score and we are one of the best teams,it seems this mentality is the one who needs to be fought. They need to think like we are not a super team but a normal one and with each passing minute we risk to lose the game or get eliminated from the tournament,I think is the mentality that needs to be fixed.

By the way, I did not mean to say bad things about England only,,, after all I do like many of the players AND my favorite team is English and from London no less. I reread the stuff I said and it seems I am such a hater but that is funny in sports, in a way. I find that watching football with friends I am the worst cussing at my own team, and I can watch other teams and comment positively but at my own team cussing so much people have asked me am I really a fan or what  Grin

But true about the mentality. It was fixed to a certain extent in the past few years but again now there are some players who get too bigheaded like maybe Grealish so I totally support why he is dropped sometimes, and other players too. Their egos too way ahead.

English players there are some humble ones but overall as a team they just feel so overrated. I do not really get it too,,, super talents players but put them in 11 and they play like junkies.

Only a selective few them are good players, vast majority of the rest are average players that are just overhyped by the English media and EPL being very popular league where we get to see these guys play week in week out, we tend to believe they really are good players, quite a number of them wouldn't even get called up into some national team if there were to be from another country.

Indeed,,, they do have world class players but so does every national team,,, since being national is the very definition of world class but a true generational talent they maybe have Kane but I am biased him being from Spurs and even I would say just Trent as a standout rightback but he does not even play the same formation or style. Midfield I think Gerrard and Lampard were way better.

Totally overhyped and worse,,, they cannot play properly in a team for some weird reason!

I don't know if anyone else noticed but the remaining are just like 16-17 games max and they are in a consecutive week day by day from 22-27 September. There are only 51 points in total before the tournament ends so these are really just 5-6 days of games and then this pool is over.I believe this to be the shortest pool beside the Euro and World Cup ones or Afcon ones which are just one month long.Nevertheless this is showing to be one of the most interesting pools so far, personally although I am sitting 6th I don't expect that in the end I will be one of the 5 winners of the pool.

So we are halway through but we have to wait like 3 months,,, but right after that World Cup so we are all good Wink

The EPL would also even have commenced for more than a month before then.

4:0 at home, against team like Hungary shouldn't happen even if they have 2 players more on the pitch. That is proper embarrassment, but I always like to see England struggling a bit since they are usually very arrogant and they have double standards for their own players. If opponent attacker tried a dive like Kane to get penalty in that game they would have it on front page of every newspaper but when their own players do it, conveniently fair play gets forgotten.

Same here. Kane is my man at Spurs so of course it hurts to see him on the losing side,,, just as it hurts to see Son lose with South Korea but if I have to choose any time I prefer to see him lose with England than with Spurs.

Wow, it's been a really rough time period in the Nations League pool. I was doing a very nice job at the beginning but now the competition is fired up much more. I was really worried about losing the lead by the last games. Because I was able to make my predictions while there was a little time left for the games to start. I couldn't check the lineups because of that. If I checked the lineups, I wouldn't definitely predict a draw for the Germany - Italy game.  Grin  I saw Italy's lineup after the game started and I directly started to think Germany would get an easy win. Anyway, somehow I managed to keep a good gap again in the standings.

It's really great to be a part of this pool no matter I'm in the lead or not. I hope that we can continue to enjoy this tournament by the next games which are in a few months.  Smiley

Losing away to Germany can happen, even to the best teams. We all remember how Brazil fared against them in WC after all. But a team like England loosing to Hungary at home is embarrassing, even more so when it is 4:0 defeat and Southgate brings on Maguire to stop conceding more Smiley Proper clown show as you say.
After all, 5:2 score doesn't looks so bad, but the way how Germany played they were able to score 7 or 8 goals.
Embarrasing isn't strong enough word to describe England performance. Yeah, it's just Nations League, but it doesn't makes it less shameful. It was biggest England defeat since 1928!
As I said anybody can loose to Germany with big score, and 3 goals difference isn't really that much. Hell, Brazil lost 8:1 or whatever in world cup when stakes were much higher and Germany visibly moved the foot of the gas in second half of that game. It was also an away game.
