famososMuertos has just paid and signed up. The next game isn't till Saturday so lets se if we can get a handful more players to hit the 50 bench mark. If we get 51 or more we can do a consolation prize for the highest overall yellow cap which gives everyone something to play for regardless of where in the table they are.

Pretty embarrassing for Pep that they can't even beat Spurs without Kane. Only 5 people backed the home win which isn't surprising. I was expecting City to run away with the league this season but maybe not now, which is always a good thing. Will be interesting to see is Coutinho or Mbappe end up in the PL. Liverpool seem to be interested in both. Will be interesting to see how PSG justify being able to have all their players on the books.

it's just the first round and one game played, this result still shows nothing. most City players had responsibilities in national teams. many of them have just returned from vacation certainly this is not what should be expected of them during the season.
although they have been playing the same way for years, surely the other teams will adjust the strategy against them and make them a lot of complications. it will not be easy.

Well, yeah, in the grand scheme of things it means nothing but start as you mean to go on. City nearly went unbeaten a couple of seasons ago. I thought they'd be pretty invincible this season too. Nice to shake things up early on.

Will be interesting to see is Coutinho or Mbappe end up in the PL. Liverpool seem to be interested in both. Will be interesting to see how PSG justify being able to have all their players on the books.
I am thinking Coutihno could be realistic but no way Liverpool is signing Mbappe after Klopp said that he does not know how Guardiola can spend 100M on a player  Grin If Mbappe leaves PSG and I think it is likely after those latest media outbursts from him it will be to Real Madrid, no other club has a chance in my opinion.

I agree with Mbappe to be honest. Probably just BS rumours. I wonder if there's any buyback clauses in Coutinho's contract that they can get him for cheap? Mbappe seems like a City player to me. If he was to come to the PL it will probably be there.

Hey, guys! Smiley I'm new to this Superbru predictor, and the site itself, and the more I learn about the site, the more I'm amazed about how it's organized. How easy and convenient is to find various intersting stats there!

Take this table, for instance:

Idk, maybe I like it because it's one of my best results so far, but to me everything, the colors, the fonts etc, looks perfect in this table. Smiley

Btw, I'm impressed by how many of us picked the exact result for this game. I mean, everyone knew Liverpool was going to win, but picking 3:0 wasn't that easy.

What are your thoughts on Saturday's match on Anfield? I made this prediction

but I didn't lock my pick, and I'm really thinking on changing that 1 to 0.

Always glad to see City loosing a couple of points, can only make PL more interesting in the long run.

Nope, Liverpool has no interest in Coutinho - that's for sure. Coutinho fell so hard from the top that he'll be playing for Brighton soon. No place for him anywhere near the football top, Liverpool knows that better than most.
Mbappe is a tricky one, if he will be without a contract next year Liverpool will be interested for sure. The problem is that they cannot afford his salary without breaking the contract structure at the club, which they won't be doing. Mbappe is probably going to Madrid, the question is only will it be this year or next one for free.

So much crazy news in transfers I see even Coutinho linked to Arsenal huh?Smiley It will make them a lot better in midfield though but their problem is actually finishing and defence,,, not really midfield (to me).
There is talk about how Barca is interested to buy Lacazete and Auba from Arsenal, really don't think the should be doing that by the way, but if Auba goes away, Coutihno will be a much better replacement for that left flank position Auba played most often. It is also a deal where clubs exchange players so something that definitely interests Barca with their money problems, especially if they can get Auba to sign for lower wages then Coutinho had.

Lol @ Fraudiola

Lol, spoken like a true LFC fan.

I mean, he got beaten 3 times in a row by Chelsea's Thomas Tuchel last season so....  Roll Eyes

Why the dig on Tuchel?  Something I don't know?  He had a great run at PSG, and so far Chelsea looks far better since his arrival.

Guardiola changed the perception of football in general, calling him a fraud is going a bit too far.

I agree that calling him a fraud is going a bit too far.  He's done a great job at City, as much as I hate to admit it.  Realistically, I'd love to see Guardiola sidelining Arsenal matches in place of Arteta.

I think Liverpool will never buy someone expensive as Mbappe, and one of their best deals is selling Coutinho to Barca and I see no reason to get back them. plus it's at a much worse level with their performance.

The rumours about Harry Kane are still going on. He is still expected to join Manchester City before the end of this transfer window. However, Spurs chairman Daniel Levy doesn't seem like he will be leaning towards a deal like this. Kane is their best player without doubt and Levy doesn't want to lose him. But on the other hand, Kane still wants to leave the team as soon as possible. He didn't play against Manchester City today due to personal reasons. Maybe these reasons are related to this possible transfer or something else, we don't know it. But I'm hoping to see him leaving the team now and joining City. He can achieve titles there but it's obvious that he won't be able to do it here.

Most reports seem to be saying Kane will stay another year. Spurs will probably want the full buy out clause on his contract and I'm not even sure City could afford that or even be willing to pay it. Maybe Kane will change his mind now they've got three points from City.

Lol @ Fraudiola,

Well done to Spurs.

Not since Ferguson and Mourinho have I enjoyed schadenfreude on a manager's face, and the thing is he does try so hard to take it on the chin, but yeah. The pain of assembling his own galacticos, shelling out every season and still not getting the prize that matters to the club, that will weigh heavy on him.

Spurs getting to the final, now that's the mark. It's no coincidence they've spiralled down without him but I do wish Nuno well!

Well done on the predictions, I might need your view point on some of my accumulators in the future Wink. My bets I actually did much better than the predictions here, though. Close on a few.

Thank you! I'm afraid you're in for disappointment if you're taking my advice on accas... I actually fare a lot better on outrights. I try to get as big a boost as possible, especially on above 10/1 odds and with Sportsbet superboost you get multiples more of your stake if won, an 18/1 win instead of 14/1 or even 25/1 instead of 20/1 is what I rely on for value, seeing as I expect to lose more often on my style.

This season, have committed to choosing more draws (when appropriate) and more favourites at home especially -- I know Brentford and Spurs seem to indicate I haven't learnt my lessons but there was some indication the away teams might struggle =D

Guardiola changed the perception of football in general, calling him a fraud is going a bit too far. We all have our preferences as to who we like more and I'll always put Klopp in front of Guardiola but that does not mean that Guardiola is not a great coach as well. Champions league is tricky, I agree he should have had a few more and that he made some weird choices in some games he should have won (Lyon, Chelsea recently).

City is spending like crazy, so was Bayern when he was there. But that's what best coaches do - they get into positions where they spend money. It is not an accident Liverpool won CL and PL after spending big and fell behind again after not spending. That's just how the game works nowadays.

I only got a close score for Spurs win,,, but I would have been happy even with 1 point, it was really cool to see the team get this win against City and fans will remember this was not the first time we got over Pep and his magic team.

So, so happy for Son but I hope we find a way to protect him more because he cannot be running like that every game (even though he does).

I liked how Spurs fans cheared Nuno Santo 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼  good way to start in a new Clun by beating last season champions that trying to take your star player.

I still miss Poch,,, but I was ready to accept Mou,,, and I am not so sure about Nuno but he is for sure as nice a guy as Poch, so happy for him and of course Spurs fans are rewarded too, to beat the guy trying to take our boy. The villain is still Levy though:(

Lol @ Fraudiola, all the money he’s spent (nearly £1,000,000,000 at City) & he loses to a Spurs team without Kane. Seriously people call this guy the best manager in the world, he hasn’t won the CL since he was at Barca over 12 years ago. Man City’s owners might sack him if he flops in the CL again this season.
He’ll probably cry for more money & they’ll buy Kane for £150,000,000 before the transfer window closes in 2 weeks.

Seriously what a Fraud.

Well done to Spurs.

It definitely does not look like adding Grealish is helping things over there as much as they planned at a first glance, I blame the inflated domestic transfer market for that.

@Welsh I did say City not playing with strikers is going to bite them at some point. They won the league last season doing so but trying to do it AGAIN is really not how you defend the title. But credit Spurs man, and Son is 10/10 for me every day any day. That guy.
Yeah, I've always rated Son. I'm actually surprised to some extent that Tottenham have managed to keep him. I thought some bigger clubs would have come knocking a while ago. If Liverpool wasn't as stacked as they are now, I would have had him at the club a few years ago.

Well done on the predictions, I might need your view point on some of my accumulators in the future Wink. My bets I actually did much better than the predictions here, though. Close on a few.
Tottenham played smart they were extremely fast whent it comes to the rebounds after closing the the spaces completely and not leaving room for City to breath in and I was surprised how they was comfortable with Kane's absence, perhaps by replacing him with a player with more defensive qualities against a team that loves possession and is good at exploiting spaces .
Manchester City was less than expected with speed and creation of opportunities and danger and his absences were clear and effective Jack Grealish presented a game far from the days of Aston Villa for many factors

I liked how Spurs fans cheared Nuno Santo 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼  good way to start in a new Clun by beating last season champions that trying to take your star player.

I didn't think Manchester City would lose to a team like Tottenham which had some major players leaving the team and the atmosphere at the club is clearly not the best being almost all the summer without a real coach yet they managed to beat the reigning champions of the Premier League. It is the second loss of City in a raw after losing the community shield trophy a few weeks ago which of course is not a good sign for them.

Well, well, well, what a match Toons and Hammers served up. I honestly thought West Ham were going down after halftime ended 2-1 but 3 fantastic goals (even got the bonus of a penalty rebound) meant only icopress got the Close score (3-2, that's balls, man, but someone actually predicted 4-3 Newcastle -- even more ballsy!).

actually, my first pick is 3-4 with west ham to win but i changed it before the game started to New castle win -_-
because i saw their H2H from 3 matches and New castle won 2 matches. So i thought that they will win but it turn out that New castle lost
