@Welsh what's your take on Daniel James, I keep waiting for him to explode but feel like every season passing he's not going anywhere. Harsh?
I've had high hopes for him for a number of years, however it does seem like his career is starting to stagnate a little bit. I didn't want him to move to a Premier League team so soon, I feel like he needed a lot more game time than Manchester United of all teams could provide. I feel like an extra season in the Championship, and then moving to a lower/mid team in the Premier League would have been better for his development.
Even when playing for Wales, he has shown some fantastic ability, and shown that there's quite clearly potential in him, but he has probably still been a little disappointing. From a Wales national point of view, it was incredibly exciting when he first came onto the scene, because of course we all want to eventually replace Gareth Bale, and he's been the closest we've had. However, I think most Welsh fans will likely agree, that was wishful thinking from us.
I honestly think the best move for him, is out of Manchester United to a team where he will get more game time, but also where he isn't surrounded by quality players, and instead can steal the limelight. I think that's when you'll see him at his best. At the moment, he's stagnating, and with the wages, and the fee Manchester United would demand, I don't see him getting a move which is frustrating from a Welsh stand point of view.
I don't tend to watch many Manchester United games for obvious reasons, but I don't think its the right place to be for his development.
I did back Brentford, and I didn't even hedge them in this one. Picked 2-0, and they were in my parlay yesterday (I just ruined it by adding Monaco to it eff me). I know I said this season I'm going to learnt to not keep backing the underdog but this was only a 45/10 team, and yeah, remember Arsenal last season? Betting against them would win you a lot of money over the season and it looks like they're same old, same old.
Fair play, I knew it in my heart that Brentford would come out attacking, and beat Arsenal. However, I opted for the "safe" bet of Arsenal. I've watched quite a bit of Championship games with Swansea, and Cardiff playing there, and I knew just how good Brentford are. I think I need to start taking a little more risks in my predictions.
