^  I got a feeling Newcastle is gonna get three points from United too (or at least a draw)...  Steve Bruce prolly couldn't get a more perfect situation.

Ole needs to start putting a string of wins together, they really are terrible these days. It’s like the difference between night & day with how good they were with Fergie.

What do you think... Watford starting a great escape? I'm betting on them again!
(I had them to beat United too Wink)

I believe a major reason for this was because Manchester United this season can't be relied on when it comes to defeating teams that on paper they should win with less effort than watford actually paying beautifully well per se. Games that can be easily won, united plays badly but when it's the top teams, their determination and will power to win balls comes into manifestation. United are like the Robin hood of the premier league "take points from the top clubs (rich) then distribute to the smaller clubs (poor)".

Initially thought that watford would get something out of that game that's why I went for a draw but they did surprise me with the clean sheet plus three points. Anyways still can't get over our (Chelsea) wins against Tottenham, i have rewatch the full time match like twice already and still keep on enjoying the boys performance most especially William's ball control. Just hope the boys can replicate same success against Southampton come boxing day fixtures.

I’ve watched a handful of their games live this season & I genuinely think there are at least 3 lower quality teams in the league than them. They are good enough to stay up but they’ll have to start racking up points ASAP & continue where they left off in the last game.

Thought I'd be top of the table with my Watford pick, seeing everyone say they got so few points. But my 7.5 wasn't too shabby after all, except it's about half of the yellow capper this week! Didn't realise ManU wouldn't be able to score. Also didn't realise Leicester would play so badly, etc etc.

Palace is costing me a lot of points AND money... this is a strange case for me of a team playing so well (I watch them a bit somehow these weeks) and yet not getting much for it.

So I finished the weekend with 5.5 points, pathetic. I’ve been awful for about a month now, I keep getting the wrong results by like 1 goal all the time recently, very frustrating.

One late goal in two matches cost me a perfect score and that's all it takes to screw up a potentially decent round. Of course the opposite is also true and late goals can get you the perfect score but it stings more with the losses. Even worse is when you would have been the only person to get the score right and that happened this week twice with the 0-0 I went with on Bournemouth/Burnley game and Rodriguez went and scored in the 88th minute to take all the points away and then the same in the Brighton/Sheff United game but that was an early goal. tomahawk9 also went for the 0-0 on that one but missing out on six points would have made that round a pretty decent one for me.

Long way to go though & a lot can change, hell somebody outside the top 10 could still win.

There are a lot of games over the festive period so lots of opportunity to pick up a lot of points.

Yeah. Mattle40 is shooting up the table and got the yellow cap this week. Up six places and only 10.5 points behind the fifth place position now after being quite low down on the table for most of the season. When people have bad weeks like a lot of us did it's a lot easier for people to climb the table very fast.

Fam > Family
LFC > Liverpool FC (obviously)

So that makes famLFC 😀

Damn you guys!!! I thought you all knew it.

Anyways, I do understand some football 🤪 and not just gamble. However in gambling, the losing stakes are high though LOL

This pool is really very close call for the toppers. And yes, I am getting tired of seeing tokeweed ahead of me all these times. Just don't slow down 😘

Temporary forum vacation
Sorry to hijack this thread guys, I played last season but I gave up and just focused on the Champions League pool (where at least I still have a chance). But just to confirm,,, if I had played this season I would be even worse than all of you guys. I mean,,, Spurs has never been so bad. Why is Son always getting red cards now, it can only mean he is so frustrated just like all the fans, which just shows during the game.

I feel like we should not even get top 4 now because we would just again lose so badly if we have to divide attention to champions league next year.

I can beat all of you for worst score with 1.5 points. That has to be an all time low (for people who submitted predictions because some forget & get 0).

Do I get a prize for biggest loser of the weekend?

Cheesy

I keep trying to be clever & go for weird results to try & catch up in the league. Safe to say it’s not a good look Grin

Worst round to me also. Frustrating is mildly speaking.
It's really too bad because Manchester United has not in the CL, probably they will have a big chance to win there. There are all teams so good, and they can play his counterattack style football.

Slava Ukraini!
So, my 7.5 points this weekend is not bad result Cheesy. But I'm disappointed that I got 0 points from Sunday games. Can't wait for Boxing Day matches, it should be fun!
Just wondering...  Who's fam_lfc again at Superbru?
the 'lfc' probably refers to Liverpool Football Club, so I think fam_lfc is either @Pamoldar or @buwaytress.

famLFC is Pamoldar and buwaytress is Sojourner, I remember I asked this question myself some time ago.

Pogba is living the dream, earning loads with no repercussion if he plays like dog shit Cheesy
Found this on the Manchester United subreddit: https://twitter.com/statmandave/status/1208778185023860738

I didn't watch the game but sounds like he played fairly decenty.

And LOL_United.  They should sell Pogba back to Juve and if Juve gets lucky enough to hire Pep (could be on 2021), I think Pogba's most likely gonna be sold again as Pep hates huge egos in his squads.

fam_lfc is Pamoldar, I’m sure I saw him announcing his love for Liverpool FC before.

Predicting winners have become really difficult or is it just me? Matches are becoming extremely unpredictable.

It's the Christmas period - the best time to look for 'value' odds. Teams with small squads (and United is one which is quite amusing considering how much their squad costs) tend to struggle a lot and have strings of bad results.

It's the same every year, I've just been picking the wrong ones Grin

Man Utd have got me wondering all day, How they were to beat Man City flawlessly, I could bet my whole life on Man Utd to win today, even after the halftime I assumed it makes it more valuable to bet on them since they'll win eventually, but then the rest is history.

Another costly mistake for me, I could sworn that I picked Chelsea to win 2 - 1, but somehow, someway it was Tottenham I picked 😔

I doubt that such World Cup for clubs would be interesting because level of football in other continents is much lower. There is only very few clubs in South America and Asia who can give some competition for top European clubs.

There's no doubt that they're on different levels, but Flamengo & Monterrey both gave Liverpool good games and I think it would be good exposure for the lesser known leagues. Almost seems unfair that some of the best players in the world come from places like Brazil and Argentina but nobody really cares about their domestic leagues. It would be interesting if they did it as a one off tournament at some point as a trial. I don't think it's that much different from the Euros or World Cups either in terms of classes of teams. It's always one of the big boys that win it and nobody really has a chance outside of the big four or five teams but I don't really think that detracts from it. It's always nice to cheer on the underdogs as well and you never know there might even be some surprises.

tokeweed’s opened a little bit of a gap now, I don’t want him to get too far ahead of me Wink
It's getting harder to catch up with tokeweed these days. We both started with same points in this round but he is well ahead than me now. I was lucky to have exact pick for City match or I could be more behind.

Tottenham match is tricky tomorrow, in fact the other match between Watford and Utd is tricky as well. Watford is a team always harmed my picks. Let wait for tomorrow 😛

I went for the 1-1 draw. United losing 2-0 is a joke. Spurs currently 2-0 down as well and playing very poorly. Went for the 1-1 draw on this game as well but I can see Chelsea scoring more.

Predicting winners have become really difficult or is it just me? Matches are becoming extremely unpredictable. When I was almost believing that Manchester United is back, it lost from Watford. I mean seriously! Who loses from Watford, you have to play utterly nonsense to be beaten by the side which won only single game in 17 games.

Meanwhile me after having 5th awful week in a row:

The last two rounds have been very unpredictable. I've barely got any points from them both.
