^  Doesn't matter if VAR works better somewhere else.  All leagues should get rid of it and bring back the human factor in the game.  Football would be much more entertaining.  IMHO.

No, most definitely not. It is a huge business, clubs are basically companies and 1 error can decide if you are a champion or not.
VAR must be a part of the game, it just needs to be implemented a lot better. Remember all these unfair games from before? They happen now as well, but way less often than before.

VAR is good. People using it are the guilty ones.

Nah, i actually like it. I like how they stay consistent, if Pukki's goal vs Spurs was ruled out because of milimiters, then the same should apply to Neto's goal.

But let's be honest, if stuff like this happens in a FA cup final or in a decisive game for the 4th spot in the league table in the last few games of the season, no one would say anything. I'm actually expecting something like that to happen towards the end of the season (VAR taking a crucial decision) and everyone changing their views on VAR to praise it.

Just imagine what would've happened if Neto's goal was the 1-2 in the '95 min and the VAR didn't intervine, the entire internet would be furious, posting images showing how Neto was offside by two pixels and the VAR should've dissallowed it  Roll Eyes

The thing is, they are not sure. That millimeter cannot be proven, remember Firmino's disallowed goal against Villa? No way these lines were acceptable. When unsure, we should either let the goal stand or allow the referee on the pitch to make these decisions.

Anyway congrats mate
Thanks man. It's my second yellow cap in the last couple of weeks..feels good to be in the top 10, just a few weeks ago I was this close to call it quits  Cheesy

The FA really needs to change its VAR rules.

The FA really needs to change its VAR rules.

Yesterday's game was massacred because of it and although I'm a Liverpool fan I think that the Wolves goal should have stood.
In situations in which you cannot be sure you need to let initial decision stand, or at least give the decision in the hands of the referee on the pitch.

We have seen many of these disallowed so far, I think disallowing a goal when unsure really is not the best thing you can do.
They must think about this and have to do something serious about this I was also thinking they need to give benefit to goal scorer.

Exactly, football is played for the goals and this VAR bullshit when they watch the the situation 20 times and triangulate lines to prove that tip of attacker shoulder is half a millimeter in front of the last defender are total nonsense. I am waiting for the situation where attacker hair is in offside resulting with most of the players having contract clause to have to shave their head bald.

It seems to me that VAR is working much better in other leagues and competitions that have implemented it. That is really big slap to FA face. With biggest budget they should be able to provide best experience and definitely not settle for this.

The way this Arsenal vs Chelsea match is progressing, I think a draw is possible or Arsenal to win. I really is not seeing a win for Chelsea. Why in the earth I gone with Chelsea 🤪

I had 1-1 and another late goal cost me the points. Even with the correct score on the City game I end up with the wooden spoon  Angry.

VAR at another big controversy, Van Dijk handled the ball it was overlooked maybe not seen(Lol), why was there even a call for a possible offside that wasn't in question to begin with?

The result went our way (still over 20 mins to go of course) so I should be happy but definitely I'm always pissed when VAR is called when no one questioned it. I mean Teemu Pukki yesterday, Mane a few games ago and Firmino's armpit... no one, not even the conceding team, would have questioned it seriously but of course VAR had to have its say.

I really hope they change some things at the end of the season. As I've said before, don't go looking for things to cancel goals out. It takes far too much time out of the game and half of the time you'll be able to find something like a player pulling on a shirt or some other shit. Give each team three appeals each and that's it. Then they will use them wisely. As for the offsides, I think they should change the rule to make it so that only a part of your body has to be onside. VAR can't even currently 100% call out offsides effectively unless there's cameras running up and down the length of the pitch with the action because the cameras they use are always at an angle and you need to see straight down the line like the linesman can to be truly effective. I think one of the commentators said 22 goals have been ruled offside this season merely by centimetres alone. That's not including all the other disallowed goals.

In the meantime, what's happened with hilariousanco, before Liverpool and Man. City games he earns zero points in this round.

I went from 7th all the way down to 16th in one round. I had a lot of results I was only goal off but I went for a load of draws as I couldn't split the teams and I guess it didn't pay off.

I didn't watch the game but I watched the highlights and I can't even make out where the Wolves offside was: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qG1lIIj9_fU

Where is it? Liverpool didn't even seem to be claiming for it either.

There was also another controversy in the City game as the ball hit the ref and City scored from it. Personally I think they should just play on but they changed the rules at the beginning of this season about giving a drop ball when that happens and I've seen it done multiple times this season but in this game it wasn't given even after a var check: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2UHPAAzJVX4

Far too much inconsistency in how rules are applied.

About our pool, i need Man City and Liverpool to win 2-0 and 3-0 respectively to get 6 more pts (:
1 - 0 for Liverpool. I had 3 - 1 so I need to be happy with only 1 point. For the City match I have the same as you.

Talking about the Liverpool match, Wolves really played well in the 2nd half. In fact, in the 2nd half it was almost 50/50 for both teams.
Dangerous Attackes: Liverpool 28, Wolves 29
Attacks : Liverpool 69, Wolves 51
Corner kicks : Liverpool 3, Wolves 3

If that goal in the first half for Wolves was stayed then we could see a different result. Unlucky Wolves.

If I remember correctly, Wolves did not score only once until now. I expect to score tonight also, but it's very difficult. Also, Traore, which destroyed City was not in the first squad. With performance against Liverpool, they deserve better result. Much better played than Leicester.
I expect also Sheffield to score one goal, and I have been very close in the last minutes.
Anyway, congrats to you Tomahawk, nice round for you with 5 exact scores predict.

In the meantime, what's happened with hilariousanco, before Liverpool and Man. City games he earns zero points in this round.

Though really the Lallana not-handball, the ref got that wrong so VAR righted it. But did we need 3 minutes to decide? Stupid.

Anyway, Wolves are tough as nails. 20 mins ++ to see them out. Got a parlay leg already taken care of (HT Reds WIN) but I still want to finish this halfway mark only dropping 2 points!

His technical change was on point as immediately jorginho was introduced in the first half, Chelsea started dictating the game that's the reason arsenal couldn't get a second goal.
That and the fact that Arteta decided to park the bus (I saw Laca as a defensive midfilder and Auba as a left back LOL) while being 1-0 even though Arsenal have one of the worst defences in the league 😂 (two clean sheets in 19 games).

Devastating blow for Arsenal, they were pretty decent today (mostly in the 1st half), but one single mistake and then everything falls apart in just 4 minutes.

When Neto got the ball and scored for Wolves I thought this is it! I am going to get another correct score (3 - 1) coz Liverpool will be furious in the 2nd half and will definately score more than one goal. But this VAR again interfered LOL

In Liverpool matches I really have good track record of picking correct scores. I think I have done it more than 5 to 6 times 🤪

You went with the right choice as the game ended 2:1 in favor of Chelsea with goals from jorginho (this time it wasn't a penalty kick 😁 but a tap in) and the second goal came from Abraham just 5 mins apart. The way i celebrated the second goal, I'm sure i have never celebrated a goal in that manner before, I was jumping all over the place with joy shouting at the top of my voice. It was awesome. Off to get some refreshments before watching the Liverpool game although we already know it's a win but it might not be that easy.
I admit that it was too early for me to justify Chelsea as a team. I really thought I will not get any point from this match but getting full 3 points from this match was really exciting for me too. Now it seems I have a good distance from the 2nd place 😆

Edit:
It's 6 times to be exact

Don't give up on the process, Lampard is buidling something special. Thankfully Abraham got his top team goal today in a brilliant way thanks to Williams assist.

Dunno...  There's something with this Sheffield United squad that seems to be performing a lot better than most would expect.  And ofc it'll be nice to get some points when everybody else picked City to win.  Grin
We really can not say anything much until the match ends. I am getting ready to watch the Liverpool match and this Arsenal vs Chelsea is getting boring as it is progressing.

The top 10 has only 20 points difference which means one or two good rounds from anyone will change the order dramatically. I was not even in top 15 for most of the weeks at the starting but few average rounds brought me in the first place. Never lose your hopes.
Honsetly speaking I only once had a great round and rest were very average for me. It is really not that easy to figure out the outcomes and get some good points from a round.

I got draws for Arsenal vs Chelsea and Citeh vs Sheffield United.  Citeh prolly feeling a bit down for dropping out of the title and could take a match or two to get some motivation back again (they still could get second).
And I have 2 - 1 win for Chelsea but looking at the match progress so far it seems, Arsenal is hungrier than Chelsea. So far no significant attack from Chelsea. Arsenal had an opening goal after two months where they usually conceded first goal most of the times. Let's see what Lampard has to offer in this match.

For the City match I gone with City. You are right they might have some motivational issue but they will not let it worse.

Just treading water in the pool with these average scores now but I'll probably start to move down if I don't step up as the people below me are crawling up.

I know things can change pretty fast but you can also go down the table pretty fast. My issue is I'm either doing pretty bad or below average and I'm not that confident about the games that are coming up and the rounds that have been played recently. Too many too close to call games mixed in with a fair few upsets.

Yea my point exactly, the league this season is becoming too boring, I remember when everyone was on their feet last season as the competition between Liverpool and Manchester city was intense and made the league very attractive. Manchester city this season has been disappointing.Their rival "united" is picking up some momentum recently as they're now winning winnable games easily and are currently in the top 5, something I didn't think could happen, Rashford has been on fire. I remember some weeks back Abraham was 6 goals ahead of Rashford with him scoring 9 goals and Rashford had just 3 but currently Rashford has 12 goals were Abraham still struggling to score against top teams with 11 goals.

And guess what we're playing against a top team "Arsenal" which likely he might not get a goal but hoping he breaks that cause since we broke the cause of not winning games against top teams in the Tottenham game. Probably Abraham can get himself on the scoreboard. My prediction is very optimistic so I'm going with a 3:1 scoreline in favour of Chelsea

Might make things exiting if Liverpool start losing  Grin. I suppose there's the possibility of them going unbeaten all season. I think they could also still go for highest points achieved in the league as well right? Think they've only drawn two games this season so they should still be in the running for that record which if so is definitely do-able the way they're playing.
