Meh.
I have not read through the entire thread yet but I'm super happy to take part in this! I had never tried the Superbru site before joining in here and I have to say that it is very smooth and easy to get started on.

Looking forward to beating all of you each week from here on out Wink

The lock feature is actually really handy - stops me constantly tinkering and changing right up the deadline. I wish there was a similar feature on the Premier League Fantasy Football. I've changed my team about 10 times today, and have essentially come full circle back to where I started.

You can change them right up until kick off. I'd put them all in as soon as possible and then just change them at your own leisure if needed. I don't think you need to lock them either, but this is just to see others picks (but then obviously you can't edit yours after).
That seems the logical way to do it. Thanks.

Guys, should we put all our predictions locked before the game week starts like it is on fantasy football, or we could go game by game.

There's a thread in Games and Rounds now: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4863740.new#new

You can post your predictions there if you wish, though this is not required. This thread will now become the discussion thread for the pool.

The prizes will currently be awarded as follows:

1st: 0.09
2nd: 0.04
3rd: 0.02
4th: 0.015
5th: 0.01

The prizes will be adjusted slightly if more people join. There will also be some small consolation prizes for the top 5 users who get the highest points from a weekly round, so even if it becomes apparent that you are unlikely to win as the tournament progresses you still have something to play for.

Consolation prizes for the top five users who score the most from a weekly round:

1st: 0.01
2nd: 0.005
3rd: 0.005
4th: 0.005
5th: 0.005

Please note you will only be able to win one of these consolation prizes.

Awesome, let’s get this shit started Cheesy
I expect the bitcoin price to be a lot higher than it currently is by the end of the season so the pot could be looking very tasty indeed.

Who knows where it will go, but a rise during the season again will be a nice bonus.

Hai buddy count me in for the tournament, was busy with my personal life for some time now.

Please send 0.005 to the following address and PM me once you have done so: 1Bg1ZpYtxuApAuYUGFvrSaMQt4nA4iFUmv

If anyone else wants to join the pool the first game kicks off tonight so still time.

Still unpaid as of yet:

ralle14 £25
Aleister Crowley £25
painwendir £25

Cloudbet have sent the $500 to boost the pot so total winnings are a little over 0.2. I will announced the exact prizes later today after the last couple of people have paid.

I hope you are right about the price of bitcoin although it is going in the opposite side of your prediction right now. Anyway I am hopeful too because last year it plummeted during summer and September and up was a skyrocketing area.

I am tempted to try 1 strategy for the whole season in a separate pool: just predict 1-1 draws for all the teams every single week,,, if I recall rightly, there was one season where there were 7 teams who scored 1-1 in one week. But I think 7 correct scores if you make 10 pools and try everything, you have 10 chances every week, and 38 weeks = 380 chances.

Well you're certainly free to try and who knows how well it will do, but I don't think 1-1 would be the score to go for nor do I think sticking with one result will do you very well in the grand scheme of things. I usually find 2-1 is a very popular score, but I wouldn't want to back it for the whole season and wouldn't be much fun for me doing that. However, if you want to pay in another 0.0005 and have one for the same score as an experiment feel free to join on another account.

Let us say 1 in 1 million to win 500 pounds, roughly I know this is not professional and correct odds, but 380 chances means you have 1 in 2,500 chances roughly to get it right. That is not bad for a free game. Who knows maybe I will make 10 pools and enter all those scores Wink

Yes, once you lock them you then can't change them and you can see the other players choices who have also locked them in.

Bitsat has now paid. Still three others that haven't:

ralle14 £25
Aleister Crowley £25
painwendir £25

First game is tomorrow.

One user still needs to join the actual league. Not long left if anyone else wants to join. Only 0.005 to participate.

I put my prediction for tomorrow and I put an upset score for the starting game of the tournament. Now in the superbru website it says Lock the picks to see other picks ? I don't understand this. Does this mean that if I choose to lock my picks I can see other players picks ? It is really confusing but at least superbru site is working well, I still miss BBC predictor though.

Six correct scores will get you a Premier League shirt. What was the highest someone got last tournament? 4 or 5?

Six correct scores is a big ask. I know we are not using Superbru for the prizes, but I find it funny that six correct scores on Superbru will win you a shirt, whereas six correct scores in Sky's Super 6 can win you £1,000,000.

But you only choose from the six three o'clock kick offs on Skybet. Here you have ten games to do it in so it's better odds and much more likely you will do it on superbru. Superbru also isn't a multi-million pound betting company and can't afford to give out substantial prizes. They do offer higher cash prizes as well though:

7    £500
8    £1,000
9    £10,000
10    £50,000

But the chance of getting seven correct outcomes or more for a cash prize is astronomical. I wonder how many people actually do that and how much they have paid out previously. I see there's a Global leader-board so every week you'll be able to see how many correct scores the best users got which should be interesting: https://www.superbru.com/premierleague_predictor/global.php#tab=global-leaderboard

Anyone here using the Superbru application? I'd like to use it for the whole season as it might be very easy to make predictions anytime anywhere using my mobile phone, but it seems that it is not really good application based on the available reviews at playstore. If anyone of you are using the app, let me know your experience. Thanks

Seems fine for me, but just test it out yourself. Sometimes reviews are skewed because they're using a different version of the app to you, or on a phone that can't handle it or they've since released a patch that fixes whatever errors they were having. Regardless, if it's bad just use the website. You can input your selections for the entire season if you wanted and as long as you don't lock them in you can change them at any point up until kick off so just do that if you're worried about the reliability of the app or whatever.

Yap thanks, I just tried it and it works fine so far. The only annoying thing is only about the pop-up ads but it is a common thing. At least I can use it as an alternative way to make my prediction just in case I'm AFK.

You can purchase a premium membership there for £10 which removes adverts if it's an issue: https://www.superbru.com/premierleague_predictor/premium.php

I think I am really liking this site, so thank you for suggesting it. I have put it my predictions now for 5 weeks, and the Tottenham Hotspurs group is quite active so good to see and share the knowledge. We can just make it for Champions League or whatever league and competition here too,,, in fact if there is interest I would not mind looking a small amount into FA cup plus Europa Cup. But not too big of course, I already lost quite a lot of Bitcoin for last season. Must have some discipline now Smiley

Yeah, I like it a lot too. It has a lot more features than the BBC one. I like how there's the potential for prizes, though the likelihood of getting more than four or five correct scores is very unlikely and you need five to get the minimum prize of a SuperBru cap (not exactly a great prize but better than nothing I guess). Six correct scores will get you a Premier League shirt. What was the highest someone got last tournament? 4 or 5?

Bitcoin FTW!
I can confirm Superbru is working as well- I assume you're using a mobile device for browsing on Superbru (which I often do too), and I don't have a solution for the ads on mobile, but if you're on desktop a simple Chrome extension like Adblock Plus works to prevent popups and ads- I didn't even notice the ads until I began browsing on my mobile device. I know many here don't like third-party chrome apps, especially after a recent MEW chrome extension hack, but it's absolutely essential for me.

AdBlock Plus also has a mobile adblock browser app, but I haven't used it before so I can't speak of its effectiveness, but if you wish to try it out, it should be on the front page here.
