^  Cool, thanks.  Smiley

I was already thinking of quitting tbh, after missing this week's round cos of some irl stuff that needed to get done (then totally forgot to play hah).  I'm open to some good pool side bets tho.  Any suggestions?  Grin

The end. It's not a weekly prize but for those who have the top five most points from a weekly round at the end of the tournament so it can't be determined until the end of the season. The people with the yellow caps will be in the running though right now but five different people may beat them as there's still a long way to go.

~snip~

Consolation prizes for the top five users who score the most from a weekly round:

1st: 0.01
2nd: 0.005
3rd: 0.005
4th: 0.005
5th: 0.005

How will consolation prizes be credited?

Will it be given at the end of the competition or will it be credited every week on a Cloudbet account or how? Because so far I have not seen consolation prizes notified every week or I missed them. Thank you before.

Woah there, don't forget about the rest of us as it's still pretty close right down to the twenties on the leaderboard. I'm in thirteenth position but still only nine points from LFC in at the top. I think anyone other than probably the bottom five are still in with a very good chance of getting into the top five, especially if you turn your form around with a few good weeks and we've already seen a couple of players make some mighty climbs from the bottom with a few good runs. I don't know why there's players who aren't putting their scores in. You can fill them out for the entire season if you wanted so nobody should be missing games. Just put the scores in as 2-1 or something to the home or strongest team and you might get lucky as that to me seems to be the most popular score (a popular bet is often both teams to score and the strongest team to win if you don't want to try get the exact score right). Also, don't forget that there are five consolation prizes for the top five highest scorers in a round so you can still win your money back or even a little more if you get the highest points from a round overall.

Prizes for those that may have forgotten:

1st: 0.1
2nd: 0.04
3rd: 0.02
4th: 0.015
5th: 0.01

Consolation prizes for the top five users who score the most from a weekly round:

1st: 0.01
2nd: 0.005
3rd: 0.005
4th: 0.005
5th: 0.005

So there's always something to play for.

Damn you Spurs. You had one job: score a goal, and my 1-1 draw would have taken me 3 points, and given me 1 slam point for 4 points total. Dropped badly in this round, that's what I get for trying to predict against the grain.

@Hhampuz, yeah the key to Close is goal difference, not total goals. If you predict 7-6 on Manchester City, you still get close, because of the 1 goal difference (plus correct outcome).

And Wembley pitch was awful tonight after NFL game.

Yeah, never seen it that bad. Don't know why they bother with American football games. Nobody cares about it over here. With that being said, there were apparently 85,870 people there and Wembley's capacity is 90,000. Maybe people just go because of the novelty of it. I guess it's probably the NFL just trying to promote the sport and garner some interest in it so they can up the fees for the rights to show games over here. I read somewhere that they even lose money putting games on over here and US fans don't like it because the games are always early in the morning.

Has the new stadium been delayed again? I did see that they opened their shop in the new stadium, even before the opening ceremony. Good to see they've got their priorities straight. Tongue

Well they gotta start recouping their money for it  Grin. It's costing them around $1 billion. Not sure how they'll ever earn that money back, especially with how much they spend on players then paying their wages (though no expenditure on new players last season - maybe they've got no money to buy any haha). I think the outside is all done and it's just some things inside like the pitch they're having trouble with. It looks pretty high tech. Apparently the pitch can slide away and there's another one ready to go. The other one is a synthetic grass surface which will be used for future NFL games apparently. At least they won't fuck up the football pitch now.

Meh.
Can someone explain the scoring for me a bit?

I predicted the following to matches and they got two different outcomes:

My prediction: 3-1, Outcome: 4-0, I get 1p for result

Second match

My prediction: 3-1, Outcome: 2-0, I get 1.5p for close.

What's the difference between the ones above? There's one goal difference both ways but one ends as close and the other as result.. hmm?

You have a correct goal margin in second case and that is worth close points. I believe you would get close points if you had a prediction like 4:2 as well, while 4:0 is way of target Smiley

But the difference between 4-0 and 2-0 with a 3-1 prediction is the same goal difference?? Or am I going mad?

Key word is difference. 3 - 1 = 2, 2 - 0 = 2 and 4 - 0 = 4

Hmm.. Alright I get it. Just thought I was 2 goals off on both predictions, oh well, thank you Smiley

Got first my yellow cap with 15 points this round. I regret that I decided to risk with Monday game and put 1:1 result.
And Wembley pitch was awful tonight after NFL game. Tottenham will move to the new stadium in 2019, until then they will be forced to share Wembley with other events.
And I'm really sad about Leicester City owner. He made a miracle with this small team back in 2016 and will be never forgotten in Leicester.

The pitch is apparently in a pretty bad state as expected after the NFL game, so that might effect play: https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2018/10/29/wembley-pitch-left-dire-state-tottenham-vs-manchester-city/

Wow. What a mess.

How do you define "close" in Superbru?

We use our Closeness Index equation which factors in goal difference and total number of goals. Don't worry about the mathematics - just follow this rule of thumb: You're close if you've picked the right outcome (winner / draw) and:

Your score is 1 goal out...
... or your score is 2 goals out, but you have the correct goal difference

Currently only 3 points (1 correct score) between the top 6 places in the Superbru league. It's close!

Sad about the Leicester owner Sad

Me too. As far as I understood he was one of the "good guys" who really cared about the football itself and not just business side of the football. He has left his mark with Leicester in their champion season and club supporters will never forget him.

When they were close to winning the title he gave EVERY home fan at the game a free pie & pint.
I guess Leicester fans will remember him with a smile & a warm heart FOREVER.

@hilarious - Hope you’re well mate. Yeah I saw about the pitch at Wembley after the American Football, it’s meant to be a mess. Dunno how the groundsmen are going to make it playable in time, guess they’ll just have to do their best.

It probably suits Spurs if it’s a mess because City play silky, smooth footy.
I’m thinking of having a bet on this game.

I had Liverpool 3-0 too, luckily I hit the correct score on the Southampton game. I don't know where I am in the standings but this week I have a few close games and this correct score.

Had 4-0 so was annoyed at that Cardiff consolation goal. I see only one user got that score right. Good pick.

I was trying to be clever by going -

C Palace 2-1 Arsenal & Burnley 1-1 Chelsea

There’s 15 mins to go in both games & Arsenal are 2-1

Had 2-1 to Arsenal as well then Palace went and equalised late on. So close on quite a few games this week but got minimal points.

Spurs/City will probably be very close tonight but I think City will grab the win. The pitch is apparently in a pretty bad state as expected after the NFL game, so that might effect play: https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2018/10/29/wembley-pitch-left-dire-state-tottenham-vs-manchester-city/

I'll be watching it anyway.

Looking good mate and congrats on your first place on the tournament and also on the perfect victory of Liverpool. I guess it has been a perfect day for you Smiley

Thanks buddy, great day yeah. In a bar atm relaxing with a mojito. The season is lomg & not many points seperating the top 10 in our pool so not getting too excited in October. Would be great to win though.

Since you are drinking my favourite drink, I gave you a merit for that. I love mojitos too and am just about to go to the club, here in Italy we go out just a bit later than in England, I know you guys start going out at 7-7.30 PM usually, while where here we start at 9 Pm usually.
