Great project! Joined.

I'll join the lower end of the bracket. So either £25 or £50 if you decide to do the latter. Hopefully, over the entire season I do better than I did in the World cup...

If nobody in the list leaves the betting pool then sure, let's go 50.  But I'm mostly doing this for fun, so if a lower buy in gets more players in then that would be better imo.

I was thinking, should we double the joining fee from £25 to £50? Would everyone be ok with that? We could then scrap the £100 pool and just meet in the middle. £25 isn't much at all (and neither is £50) and I'm sure most gamblers spend that in a week at least. You've got to remember this is an entire season of entertainment/gambling for a fairly decent prize so is well worth it. If we can get 20 users then that would make the pot at £1000 so it's better winnings for everyone. I think we should have no issue in getting 20 players to join especially as we got 23 last season and the current World Cup pool is at 20. We would only need a couple more users to hit 20 as well. Thoughts?

For me it doesen't make difference but we don't know the monetary status of other participants. Maybe doubling the basic fee would be deal breaker for some of them.
Maybe you could create a poll and let people choose. If you decide to go that way make sure to include several options like:
1. Don't care I am in anyhow
2. Only 25 works for me
3. 100 is a must, to differentiate serious gamblers from weekend enthusiasts, I want to be part of elite  Cool
Ok, I admit above needs some working but it seems to me a poll would be the simplest way to get your desired feedback.

Hah!  Loving this betting pool.  As soon as we send our BTC to hilarious I think the price will be at 5k USD or something.  Then as the 2018/19 season ends it could trend up to 30k USD or so (maybe more?).  Grin

Just asked micgoosens to join for next season, he’s a really cool guy. From Belgium, he’s the guy who gives away free bitcoin for correct predictions on the bitcoin price at certain intervals (in the Speculation section - Wall Observer).

But yeah the pools are cool, a number of us get on really well & who knows when we see 1 bitcoin at $100,000 we could have a pool party somewhere Cheesy

thanks.

I may accept Eth, but I'm not taking in the money till nearer the start of the season. I've put your name down in the op.

Best way because we don’t know what the bitcoin price will be.

The payment will be collected when the Premier League will be near just like last year, in early days of August. As for the ETH, just exchange it to BTC, Exodus is a wallet which let's you do that automatically and lastly welcome on board. Last year this betting pool was super fun, so I hope we will repeat it again this year too.
This is the reason why I need a guide ,, this is the first time I want to join this kind of competition .. and maybe if it works. I will continue to follow this kind of competition.

I'm down for an entry fee of £25- never participated in one of these before, I'm interested to see how it'll turn out.

Nice. The pool last year turned out very well and everyone seemed to enjoy it. I've put you down in the op. Pot now at £400.

Please note Local rule: This thread is only for those who have paid to play in the pool. Anyone posting in here who hasn't paid will have their posts removed.

For the past few years I've organised betting pools for the English Premier League along with the Champions League and World Cup, and now it's time for the 2020/21 Premier League pool which will kick off on the 12th of September. This year's pool is sponsored by Sportsbet.io and they've generously donated 0.15 into the pot along with some other great prizes (see details of below), so thanks to both jeremypwr and Sportsbet for that.

We will again be using the www.superbru.com website for predictions where you get 3 points for predicting an exact score, 1 point for a correct outcome (win/lose/draw) and 1.5 for a close prediction with correct outcome. Superbru is a free and easy to use site taking only a minute or two to register. You can change your scores right up until kick-off and you can even put your predictions in advance even for the entire season if you wanted to which is perfect if you think you might be away for the forum or not have a chance to make your predictions.

The total prizes will depend on how many people ultimately join, but the previous prizes were as follows:

1st 0.1
2nd 0.05
3rd 0.04
4th 0.03
5th 0.02

6th 0.01
7th 0.01
8th 0.01
9th 0.01
10th 0.01

How it works: The competition is very similar to SkyBet's SuperSix tournament but every week each person involved will predict what they think the exact scores will be of all the games that will be played that week. We will be using the superbru website to keep track of points.

Example of scoring:

If you picked:

Arsenal v Leicester 0-1
Burnley v Swansea 0-0
Crystal Palace v West Brom 1-1

And the actual results are:

Arsenal v Leicester 2-1 Loss: 0 points
Burnley v Swansea 0-0 Win: 40 points
Crystal Palace v West Brom 2-2 Win: 10 points

You would get 50 points from those three selections. The winner would obviously be the person who gets the most points over the season and the top five users will win prizes. This time there will also be 2 or 3 small consolation prizes for those that get the highest points from a round at the end of the season so everybody still has something to play for no matter where you are in the table.
