^  Wolves got lucky.  Aguero and Sterling both hit the wood work in the first half.  But you gotta give them credit.  They held against the best club in the EPL.  Looking foward to more of their matches.

They did hold city off and the EPL will be much more beautiful if Liverpool wins later today. I never thought that Man.City would not be able to beat a newly promoted team from the Championship but apparently City took it to easy and took it for granted.

@Welsh good idea to do that. I'm also setting aside some time after this week to just enter predictions til end of October. Form is always a tricky thing to predict but it's no big deal to change a prediction before the match itself.

^  It's the reason why I think the 'dark horse' for the EPL title is Tottenham.  Chelsea and Arsenal are rebuilding, Man United are shit atm, that leaves Man City and Liverpool.  Spurs vs Liverpool at the newly renovated White Hart Lane should be good.

My dark horse has always been liverpool, who until this season were tipped to finish below Spurs by most pundits. They're the clear favourites for a strong challenge and Spurs appear not to have strengthened, though their WC players don't seem to be getting any exhaustion (or are we waiting for them to finally crash in October/November?

Signs are good though. Kane broke his August hoodoo, and they're meeting United at the best possible time so early on. Arsenal only in the rear-view mirror. Everyone is focused on everyone except Spurs, so yeah, they've got far fewer distractions.

Looking forward to the pool today. I’m in Liverpool for the game, got myself 2 hospitality tickets with free drinks & a 4 course meal pre match too.

My boys need 3 points today. Would be nice not to be a total fucking loser in the pool this week though. Not doing very well in our betting pool so far this season.

I got 2nd last and last in the last two rounds, and still predicting a few shockers today, so let's hope I don't fall down farther. 3-0 wins have got me 2 close scores from Liverpool, so 30% of my points are from them. Here's hoping they give me 3 fat points today too.

Gonna watch Wolves hold City off in 5 minutes. GL everyone!

Don't get me wrong, Brighton played very well against United, but you can't overlook the fact that United are playing awful. They have zero team cohesion and don't seem to have a tactic to fall back on when things aren't going to plan. The stats from the first two games put Man Utd last in the league in terms of time spent in final 3rd, and 17th in the league in terms of attempts on goal. I think Liverpool will beat Brighton without too much bother.
I didn't catch the game live, but I caught the highlights. Looked to me like Brighton held their own, and threatened. Man utd might be shit at the moment, but they should have the players to change the game in an instant. I think Liverpool might struggle. They didn't exactly hit first gear against Crystal Palace, and Brighton are a little bit stronger defensively I think.

I am expecting a "boring" Premier League season. Meaning City will win another title with Liverpool giving them a run for it until Champions league brings some tough matches and few injuries start to happen. That is the time City makes 10 points advantage and keeps it to the end. I am seeing Spurs as comfortable 3rd with Chelsea and Arsenal fighting for last CL place. Maybe somebody like Everton could make a surprise and keep things interesting. I am seeing Man Utd as biggest disappointments this season and expecting Mourinho to get sacked around winter transfer window.

Hope to be wrong and something like Leicester happens again Smiley

It is too early to say that. Teams like Liverpool are strong opponents for the title run this year and if they just f the Champions and focus fully to win the EPL title , I am pretty sure they can win the title without any problems and the likes of City or any other team won't be a real hindrance to the title run to them if they focus totally for that aim.

I think the interesting one will be Liverpool vs Brighton considering Brighton did pretty well against Man Utd. We'll see if Liverpool are actually title contenders.

I'm going to sit down later today, and just put in my predictions for the next few months to make sure that I don't miss any weeks. I think I've seen enough from most teams to get a general idea of how they are going to perform. Now it is getting closer at the top, at the middle and even in the bottom of the leaderboard. It is this time when things start to get interesting although it is to early to say anything with just 2 weeks passed, another 36 long weeks before we go to the end of this.

I don't think it is. Two weeks is nothing. I could get next to zero points the following weeks. It won't be interesting until many rounds have passed arguably even months. It doesn't matter if you're at the bottom of the table for the next few weeks as you could just as easily turn it round with a good run (or even if higher up users have a bad run).

Yup...  Me too.  I guess this will be another early donation for this season for me.  If by the fifth or sixth week I don't improve, I quit.  Enjoy my donation.  Grin

I got 0 - 2 in the Palace vs LFC match.

Oh, come on toke, you're way in there and even right now, the bottom (me) and the top doesn't have such a terrible gap to close. Round 1 2 guys managed to get 18 points or more so if I do that, I'll have almost closed the gap (heh heh).

As hilarious also stated in his first post, there are also weekly prizes for best predictions in that individual week. So even if you are way behind in last place, with no chance to win outright, you still have something to play for. Don't give up!

It's not really a weekly prize. Those prizes still won't be deiced until the end but it is for the top 5 users who have scored the highest points in a weekly round. It's just a way for users to have something still to play for if/when it becomes apparent they are very unlikely to get a top 5 spot on the leaderboard.

Its still just started and I am sure its going to change soon even in next few weeks I am still third its surprise me because second week was worst for me but some good points in first week help a lot but I am not sure I will keep this place in next few weeks because many good are warming up and they can do some extra ordinary any time in coming weeks

Well, Crystal Palace surprised me an awful lot last night. I kind of expected them to sit back a little, and look to counter attack. But, at home I was expected a second half barrage from them with Zaha leading the attacks. Instead, they pretty much counter attacked the whole time. They did pretty well, and forced some decent saves from the Liverpool goalkeeper.

Wasn't the way I saw the game going to be honest. Liverpool didn't have it too easy, but didn't struggle that much either. Certainly not defensively which I thought they might.

I’ve had an absolute stinker of a weekend in round 2’s fixtures. Need to do much better next weekend.
Gone for C Palace 1-3 Liverpool tomorrow.

Well done to our new Yellow Cap winner, Sygambler! He also managed an extra slam point to further his lead! top 2 managed to maintain their positions so well done to them too. I've gone for very high risk scores as you can see, but I guess the Premier League hasn't really thrown up the surprises yet.

I got a new wooden spoon to my name too, so I guess I'm on my way to filling up all those Superbru badges haha.

Seriously, I never learn my lesson.

Yeah, I guess I was indirectly correct. I didn't really have the Burnley game in mind when making that statement in all honesty though. Yeah, I'm either expecting Liverpool to come out all guns blazing, and put quite a few on them or as is tradition with CP VS Liverpool they'll both score a few goals, and it will be a close game right until the end of the whistle.

I think Liverpool have the capability of not leaking as much goals as they have in previous games against Crystal Palace though.

I doubt we will see a high scoring one in the Burnley game. All the betting websites where I read news and do the analysis were predicting a low scoring game but those are just predictions anyway. For this game my score is 1-0 for Burnley.
Yeah, I was referring to the others. For example, I saw the Man Utd game going quite high scoring like it was. I think the Liverpool, and Crystal palace game today will likely have a few goals in it. Especially, considering CP will likely come at Liverpool considering they are playing at home.

The funny thing though is that you were right, we had a high scoring game and Watford won 1-3 against a tiresome Burnley. Same for Man.United. As for Liverpool we will see tonight, I think an Over 2.5 goals should be the norm here tonight and a win of Liverpool probably.

Don’t give up, keep going. It’s a bit of fun even if you don’t win. Keeps the whole season interesting.
