Just saw an email from SuperBru, looks like someone already won GBP 500 from 7 correct guesses in Week 1. Apparently, 2 other guys got 7 exact picks, but they lost out narrowly (global leader wins). Trofo must have been right somehow though, fairly predictable round so it only needed the right goals to get those exact scores right.

Funny thing is he predicted 3-2 for Liverpool. 1 more exact score and he'd be swimming in sterling.

Also, Welsh and others, you have 15 free picks if you ever forget. They're used up automatically, and are set to the most popular prediction for the games. So basically, you haven't lost anything just yet.

I've put my picks in up to Week 3, but will probably make sure I have at least 2 weeks in advance picked out. You can always change them later. Takes all of 30 mins to enter everything right up to season end, so why not?

Yeah, I'm going to be looking to sit down, and do as many as possible as I won't have too much time on my hands for about 3 weeks in October. I managed to watch some of the weekend games though, and wanted to judge their performances on my future predictions. I'm not really that bothered by missing a few rounds.

Even if you just put in a 1-1 for draw for every game the entire season if you really can't be bothered - last season there were a good few weeks where 1-1 for everything would have got you a three exact results and a bunch more "close" results.

Why don't you just put as many as you can in now? That way you won't miss any games and can always change them when you get chance. You could even put the entire season's in if you really wanted. Missing a few round doesn't really matter either. I get next to zero points in a few rounds last season and still came second overall.

I thought I would do quite well,,, like hilarious pointed out usually we can see some surprising results in the very first game, for example, new teams and new coaches, or just players rusty from holiday, like Mourinho likes to say some players holiday too much! I did quite okay for my own standards, and I put in some careful scores but ended up that the big teams won as expected not even 1 surprise draw.

Marathon for sure, not a sprint. I want to make up for last pool in World Cup to sit for 2 days in the winning spots and lose on last two days, was very painful Wink

There's usually always some shockers on the first round as teams are shaky coming back from the break and gelling with new players etc and you've got no recent for to judge either team on, and so making correct predictions is often difficult, but I guess this year it's the anomaly. 0-0 games are where you can gain a lot of points. People seem to rarely choose them (or even draws). I tend to pick them when I think there's two poor teams that will cancel each other out and it worked on the Southampton vs Burnley game but not on a couple of others.

Wow our captain really took his A game with him. I thought I had a good chance of winning the yellow cap but I went for a "shock" predictions for the remaining 2 games. I thought surely this week 1 must have at least 1 upset. Like Trofo said, this week was rather "easy", just a matter of who predict exact scores. Results all went the favorites' way, no big upsets over the 10 games.

I like to keep close to the top and then make surprise push in the few last game weeks to take the top spot

This was actually very easy game week to predict. There was almost no surprises and certainly no big surprises. I am thinking it will be much harder in the following weeks. I have a feeling City will again be champions and Liverpool will be the only team able to keep up and hopefully made it interesting.
