All the blame should be on Sanchez for drawing the game today. I cannot understand mistakes like these.
You have a great result, you need this victory and you give a goal back by trying to be too smart as a goalkeeper.

Yes, I'm well aware that the best teams play with a goalkeeper when building up the play - but there must be some common sense by those goalkeepers as well.

Need a Chelsea win over Arsenal to gain those precious points to advance more from the bottom of the pool board. Cheesy
Where is @Igebotz at since this is his team.
He must be watching the match because last I looked at the score they were leading the Ol' Gunners 1-0.
Can see them getting a red card the way they have been playing and wanting to advance up the table themselves.

What a shame honestly for my points in this round. Had 3 correct results in last 10 minutes of the match and everything changed really quick could have taken the first place really easily but just the luck. Nottingham forrest spilled the lead plus that var decision in the end just unlucky

...which bring Liverpool to the top of the league table for some time which is good for the players and fans as well...
The second switch at the top of the table happens now with Manchester City going top. They made their win against Brighton more difficult than it should have been after a very solid start to the match.

I did not get any exact score and managed to get a fairly predictable Newcastle victory wrong, one of only two players to predict that match wrong. But late goals from Luton town and Wolves saved me some blushes this week.
All attention switches to Stamford bridge now and we will see if we get the 4th team to top the table today or will City remain at the summit.

Hoping Alexis improves and meets his rating for once.
He has been really decent today with his passing (long and short) and also his close control. I also think he has been decent all season and he has an average sofascore rating of 6.95. Boy is still settling into the team and will only improve from here.

Half time and still goalless but Liverpool will be playing the whole of the second half with a man advantage and should make that count having coped well with playing one and even two players short. Nunez should come on at some point in the game too.

- Jay -
You have done good as we have Nunez, and then we have late double from Mohammad Salah which bring Liverpool to the top of the league table for some time which is good for the players and fans as well, but I have only 1.5 points with I predicted 3 - 0 but things gone no perfect now we are heading for five games with 2 are looking easy, but mostly others are unpredictable after the break.
Another derby is waiting for us later, but Gunners are looking in better shape, hopefully they will give their best as well and have full points against struggling blues which are still not capable of having good results against big teams.

LFC_Bitcoin you watching derby from comfort of home or soaking in the atmosphere at Anfield? Prepped myself all hours before the game knowing we'd be without a certain Scotsman who's always a constants for me but his deputy's not bad. Lineup is finally looking like our 4-3-3 is returning but I did wince a little to see my man Nunez not starting! Hoping Alexis improves and meets his rating for once.

Never thought I'd fin myself saying this but thank god for Arsenal or this Super Sunday would be an all-draw affair.

^  I'm not saying they're unbeatable or saying they're the greatest club in the world and whatever bs.  Just saying what had happened last season and what kind of squad they're having right now...  And it is deep.  I mean am I wrong?  And It would be hilarious if they could get another treble back to back.  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy  Omg that would be funny.

But I would agree that the line being at 1.73 this early in the season has no value and betting on it would totally make no sense as an outright bet.

If I remember correctly, before the start of the season when City’s hegemony was undisputed, City’s quotes were approximately 1.7 (or slightly less). Now, after KDB was injured and does not play, after City, after the easiest part of the championship, found themselves only in 3rd place, their quotes have fallen only quite a bit. This seems illogical to me. There are games ahead with direct competitors, and based on the logic of the bookmakers, what should be the odds, for example, for the game City - Liverpool? 1.5 - 3.5 - 6.4? LOL
If so then of course i will bet against City.

If those are the odds then it is logical to bet against them. They are showing signs of weakness in these last two games that they lost in a row and add to them their loss in the cup with Newcastle things does not look well for them. They are lucky that they have 2 weeks time because of International break during this week otherwise I don't know what would have happened next.

For Liverpool though I am quite a bit disappointed as they were winning against Brighton and could not hold up and if they cannot hold up against Brighton then most likely they cannot hold up against City.

But if you think this way, it turns out that if City could not resist Wolves and Arsenal, then they will not be able to resist Liverpool  Cheesy

Is that the outrights for winning the league?  I'd say the books got it right.  City's squad is deep and that will come into play when the other clubs start fading in the final stretch of the season.  Remember last year when everybody thought that Arsenal was gonna get the EPL trophy?  City just kept at it and won the League, the FA Cup and the UCL.  And if anything I'd say gamble on Klopp and Liverpool at that line.  They have the grit to push on through.  If they could get it together, they could win imho.

Yes. Yes, everyone knows the advantages of the City, but they also have disadvantages. And I don't think the difference between City and everyone else is the same as in the Bundesliga where Bayern can win the title by giving their opponents almost any head start at the start of the tournament. There are decisive games ahead, let's see if the bookmakers are right.

...Manchester City 1.73

Arsenal 5.00

Liverpool 6.50

Tottenham Hotspur 13.00

City, after the easiest stretch of 8 games, ended up in 3rd place, but at the same time is rated better than Arsenal, which is ahead.
A bit unfair.
City have won 5 of the last six EPL campaigns all those times not being top throughout the competition, but they somehow find a way to win at the end of it all and come in clutch at the tail end of the season while other clubs start to get shaken up a little. It has just been 9 games and they are still favorites to win the league as it stands and will still be favorites if this is the standing after 19 games.

It is a marathon and City are the best at it in the league with their immense squad depth. Although their depth is heavily dependent on the presence of Rodri, who they have not been able to replace. They have either drawn or lost all the games he did not play in and he certainly cannot play all the games.
That will be a real headache for Pep.

There is no reason why we should remember Arsenal as I think Arsenal underestimated their weak opponents during the last stage of the season and they are the first one for me to not repeat them this season at all cost. That is why no matter how deep the City squad is if any team beside Arsenal who is doing well does not underestimate their opponents I would say that the books got it completely wrong this time and I would bet on Arsenal as that 5 odd looks extremely good right now while why would anyone risk such a long season on a 1.73 odd for City I don't get it.

Lol at that 1.73 odd for City, what do the bookies think after they have failed miserably to win against Wolves and Arsenal did beat them in the head to head game. For me the most ideal team to bet on would be either Arsenal or either Liverpool which for me are the teams with most chances to win the Premier League season this time.

I know Tottenham has been doing really well too but they are not convincing and they lack the star players these other teams have which in the long run I am highly confident can make a difference and that is why I choose either Liverpool or Arsenal as the most likely winner of the Premier League.

Wasn't Ten Hag part of the cleanup? His "mistake" was setting expectations by winning a cup last season Smiley

His mistake for now is probably getting rid of De Gea for a 'build-up' goalkeeper that turns up to be sucks at goalkeeping  Roll Eyes. I gotta give him some credit for that bold decision though but for now Onana sucks but yeah its all part of the clean up and the club must move on from all those glorious past. It takes time but it just feels bad when you see Onana is at the bar not being able to keep any cleansheet whenever the team play

Oh yes, bringing in Onana was a boo boo but he had to gt rid of de Gea, the man was great but he caused way too many mistakes. Onana weirdly too, he wasn't like that before but maybe just early season settling in, I'm sure he gets better.

We shouldn't look at so few games anyway. It is problem for many seasons, many games.

Of all the clubs in Top 6 Arsenal, Brighton and Liverpool look the best for stability. City have the best structure of all but I won't choose them because you need a lot of money to keep it, not all clubs have it. United is far away from those structures.

If this happens, Kane's transition will look as comical as possible  Grin

agree, especially if, by some miracle, Leverkusen make this season big, and take title from Bayern, it will be an event to make meme history out of it

I like Kane but now that you guys say it, I woul like also for this to happen lol

In any league, I want outsuders to win, and club loyals like Son deserve winning something. Reminds me most of Coutinho who came to us to win Champions League, and then his old team beats US 4-0 to win.

Maybe the absence of KDB is so important.
I paid attention to this: out of 8 games, City had only two serious ones - with Newcastle and with Arsenal. The result of 3 points can hardly be considered successful. There is a killer series of games ahead with much stronger opponents (Brighton - United - Bournemouth - Chelsea - Liverpool - Tottenham - Aston Villa), there is hope that City's gap from the leaders will only increase after this series of games.
By the way, I was really angry that the referee got scared and didn’t send off Kovacic, who earned 1.5 red cards in the first half.
Kovacic should have been red carded in the first position and he didn't even get a yellow card in the second position. After such injustices, I am more happy that Arsenal won. The refereeing in the Premier League this year has been unbelievably bad. We might see something surprising later about this, but let's see. Two defeats last year had cost Arsenal a lot of confidence. Winning this game will reinforce their belief in the title. But if we had the same City squad as last year, Arsenal wouldn't have won again. If Arsenal continue like this, they will win the title this time at the end of the season. They showed once again how much they deserve it.

Yes, this interpretation of the rules infuriates me even more than VAR’s errors in determining offside. The referee could send Kovacic off twice (or rather, he should have done it), but he didn’t. But a sending off at such an early stage obviously has a greater impact on the outcome of the game than even a goal.

Grin Yes, this would definitely become a meme and I would even say a tragic meme because even in theory it is very sad: leaving your native club for titles and missing out on the triumph that was so close.

back to topic, Arsenal winning over City does look as worst outcome for Liverpool, but in the long run it is more likely to see City entering endless winning strike, than Arsenal to hold on top spot, so this looks as better for City to lose all points

Such a shame the int break is here... would have loved to see City on the ropes.

We can only hope that after the international games the City players will be exhausted and, given the difficult games (as I wrote above), we will see City knocked out.

By the way, let's dream and imagine that Tottenham will take the title. If this happens, Kane's transition will look as comical as possible  Grin

Watched most of Liverpool and while their defence once more gave the goal away (pundits seem to blame Macallister but I feel like VVD was not entirely blameless?) I guess I should be happy we were pretty neat against a fast pressing team.
