Took me probably 20 minutes to find out who this person called Fernandez is. Is she even considered a favorite and if yes, why? Wimbledon out in second round, Canadian Open out in round of 32 and Cincinnati out in the quarterfinals. I was confused and then I tried to find the draw for Monterrey but couldn't find her! I didn't know whether this question was going to be valid or not, but my google search for some reason didn't even bring her up. Now I see she has won three WTA titles in the past and was a US Open finalist in 2021. But still she hasn't had any recent successes.
Damn guys, what sort of fanatics are you if you can't find Fernandez Leylah. I know from top of my head that she was killing it in that US Open you mentioned. She and Raducanu were hailed as new number 1 & 2 by almost anyone then (2021?). I said one tournament wonders but that they should be on top level in few years. The first part I got correct, second not so much. She played final on grass this season and lost, I think Eastbourne or Birmingham (road to Wimbledon for sure). She won something on hard court last season, maybe some china tournament or something else in Asia. Monterey is her best tournament from her early professional years and that is why I made the mistake, since I assumed she is playing that and not Clevland. I didn't know whether this question was going to be valid or not, but my google search for some reason didn't even bring her up. Hey guys, we have decided to void tennis question this round. Draper has withdrawn in the meantime and we made a mistake, Fernandez is not playing in Monterey she is actually playing in Cleveland.
Easiest and most fair solution is to just void the question. With that, we have 9 questions this week and LMS safety threshold is lowered to 1, instead of usual 2.

Fair enough, I went with either to win the trophy anyways and to be honest I didn't even check the draws at all or even know if it's an ATP 250 (I expect it to be) or ATP 500, but I know what it means to win a title even being the favorite like Jack Draper or Fernandez, I'd go with neither to win the title any day, anytime.

But guess what, there were 16 participants in round 2 with 0-1 points. If it's one of those days where everything goes against the odds, it could still knock out quite a few LMS participants. The variance is huge though as in round 1 there was nobody with 0-1 points except for those late submitters.

Bought back in against my better judgement. Have to be in the game to win it.
I am free this round, so full focus is on climbing the ladder in LMS. Football predictions were terrible for me last round, Olympics were much more fortunate for me which is very ironic.

Meh. I would rather take a loss and a win instead of two draws, especially since I was leading in both instances up until the last day. 2 draws and 1 loss reporting for duty. It's like this for me a lot of the seasons heh heh.
Then you know how I feel at the moment. I blame the fact that I am on vacation for the majority of August and beach is distracting me. Plan was to fight for the promotion but looks like I might be fighting to stay in Div 2. Plenty of rounds left though, things can change.

Your points will be counted in LMS.
If you check the spreadsheet, you will see that those that were free in the previous rounds played for LMS and their points were counted for that.
Your points are also counted for free bets. In round 3, Dittoup won the $10 free bet while he was free in BSFL.

When I answered early yesterday, it was precisely because I saw neither of them were playing. Thought it was a nasty Cro2 deliberate tricky trick. Free LMS success!
Draper was in the draw Sunday, not sure about the lady. I'm notoriously bad with female sports and my answer was for her not to reach the final without even Googling who she was considering that I never heard her name before.
We might put some occasional tricks purposefully (example - we expect you to check if the 'to score' players are suspended, injured or rested and we might put a suspended player that is usually likely to score on the list to reward those that investigate) but the rule is that if the question has only one possible answer before the deadline it will be voided - so we'd never purposefully write an incorrect question in a way in which Q10 is written.
Tennis is especially difficult to write in advance - and it's causing us trouble since the first season of BSFL.
These lesser tournaments are even harder and in 'normal' situations it would not be in the questions at all, but we didn't want to go with 9 football questions and there isn't much happening other than F1.

I also found something that might give me a slight edge, if it still goes through as a valid question we could be closing in on a free point.
