Wow big changes! I love them!! Hmm it seems I need to look for alternative to get my team motivated. Punishment severity didn't work, being too nice didn't work.

Maybe the Europe thing with a lot of beer will work, too bad it's so expensive in hot countries.

@Slissy and @Trofo sidebetting, who wants 0.5 mbtc similar to that? Above me win, below me lose.

Haha. As much as it would contribute to his mafia image that he has in this thread, Trofo said that he owns a small summer house on an island. I don't know about the rest of the world, but it's not uncommon in Croatia to have a small summer house by the sea where you can go on a vacation.

Oh I misread it lol I saw private island and immediately I thought of rich bastards like Elon and Epst***

In my country, it's becoming more and more common people don't have their own house, but share the family house back back back home, with 30 people lol. If you have one house, you are the big man in your place. If you have a SECOND house, you are a big politician, big military guy, or big mafia.

I don't understand the buy-in. Will players from each division be selected and paid accordingly?
Or will it be determined by lottery?
And is it compulsory to participate?

The time has come to divide players into their respective leagues. Divisions 1 & 2 are set in stone while Division 3 can still have some new additions. Division 3 will again be split in A & B subdivisions on Sunday when we have a final number of participants. Give it a look in case I screwed something up since I am still working on my super small laptop screen while on holiday.

We go live this Sunday, so rest is over. Time for some training and friendly matches to hit the ground running.

Happy to see this, hope I get a chance, thanks.

From 3/4 spots relegated or promoted and upping it to 5 is great, Division 2 will get more competitive than ever. I enjoyed going back and forth through the announcement treating it like a patch note from a game.

Also, welcome to the newcomers who made it in Division 3 and russeras who'll be on evaluation.

The buying and selling of club spots is a nice addition. The permanent fee sounds discouraging, but it shouldn't be a problem if you can always finish at the top of your Division.

First of all I am very interested to see how many of you will vote yes for club selling. It could be an interesting feature but it is also quite risky to implement.

Opens up some nice oportunities. We did not cover everything in rules so far but I am thinking position trading should also be possible. For instance cryptofrka pays me 50 mBTC so that we switch places in Divisions. The example we showed so far was a basic one where new player buys a club.

That was quite a lot text to read for me on vacation mode, but I read it whole. Want to see a bit clarification about how exactly LMS will work. As I understand, there won't be separate set of questions each week, but ''freebet'' question will be used for, right?

Yep, but slightly modified. Example - if the top score in Div1 for a H2H question is 4 points, you will get that point for the freebet calculation if you have 4 points.
For LMS, if the top result in Division 2 is 5 points, you will not get that point but only the person with the highest result across all leagues will.

This is the most interesting feature! My question is, after we sell our position, let's say in Div 1, are we allowed to buy position in Div 2 at the same time, so we don't need to restart the season from the lowest division?

We have to cover all the angles here and evaluate how it would affect the leagues but sure - theoretically it should be possible. Then you drop 1 Division instead of 3.
Let's first see how the people will vote and if it's a yes, that gives us the whole Season 5 to figure out the way to make it work perfectly Smiley

This is actually a pretty cool concept. To be fair, a division 1 spot probably cost around 3-5mbtc given the previous prizepool. Even if the buyer sucks, placing a spot higher than the relegation spot is already good enough to get decent prizes in the current and next season.

We're thinking higher than that for sure - but would really be curious to see what would people think it's worth.

Cant wait the Season 5 starts, thank you Cro2 team!

Here are my questions;

All those that have 2 points per round or less will be eliminated, if everybody has 3 or more points, those with the next worst result will be eliminated (those with 3 points, or 4 if nobody has 3 etc).
I know the possibility almost zero with this huge amount of participants, but what if everybody has 2 points or less in a round? Do all of us get eliminated?

That would mean that we would be going the Superleague way in BSFL and from Season 6 onwards it would be possible to sell your spots in the leagues.
Example – if casperBGD wants out, he can sell his spot to the highest bidder. There would be a public auction for the spot and the highest bidder would claim that spot. Also, a player could say he’s willing to buy a Div1 club for x mBTC, and wait for offers.
This is the most interesting feature! My question is, after we sell our position, let's say in Div 1, are we allowed to buy position in Div 2 at the same time, so we don't need to restart the season from the lowest division?

It is nice to see quite many changes for the new season. I believe this can attract more people to join BSFL as well. Smiley When it comes to selling spots, I also think that people would be interested in Division 1 teams rather than others. In the end this is the easiest way to reach top. But I also don't feel like so many people would be eager to sell their spots. I think that only people with special occasions might think of using this new option.

Logo Designer ⛨ BSFL Division1
I am happy to see new season is starting soon, but it is still holiday season guys  Grin
I like the changes in BSFL and out growing numbers, always up like Bitcoin!

  • SB really likes the logo additions. In agreement with notblox1, our official logo maker, top 3 teams from Division 1 and Division 2 that don’t already have logos will get them free of charge each following season until all clubs in top 2 Divisions have them.
  • We will then probably continue doing the same for Division 3. There are no plans to have logos in Division 4 but you can make them individually.
  • All clubs that receive logos will be required to make a short 'team summary' post - you can see how they look by clicking on any member's name that already has a logo in the league table.
Thank you Cro2 team and Sportsbet for showing support my work with logos, I am glad we can work together on this project.
I will do my best to make great logos for all winners, and my dream will come true for all teams to have page with logo and more information.

Selling your spots?
I really dig this idea, just dont let mafia take all your money for protection fees Wink

It will be fun to track though, it is crypto after all so consider your club as your unique NFT - I'm curious to see how valuable people think these are. The downside might be that someone loses interest after selling the club, but then the person buying it has increased interest as well.

Nope, in that round those with 3 will be eliminated and in the next round it goes back to 2 (or next lowest) again.

Now this make sense, its going to be rough !

Its on the spreadsheet, the free bets point

So basically this will determine our points for the rounds

Selling your spot in division, not really sure how much interest will be in this thing. I'm sure that there will be demand to buy 1st Division club, but don't know how many will want to sell it. Personally, I'm not considering to sell my club, it was not that easy to earn spot in Division 1 Cheesy

We are starting then, nicee!  Grin  I have really missed BSFL honestly. After especially being eliminated in Last Man Standing my focus was fully on the Formula 1 pool. But now the fun is going to double itself for me.

Now after the changes, I see the first 2 teams from Division 3A and 3B both are promoting directly. Even one of 3rd finishers has a chance for a direct promotion. This is great news for me. I hope to promote to Division 2 finally.  Roll Eyes

Selling spots is another interesting new thing here. I think there would be many players who would like to use this into their advantage. But teams in higher divisions wouldn't be sold cheaply surely.

Regarding selling the spots, I really dislike the idea. I know it adds some complexity, but for some reason it just feels wrong. I hope more people share a similar opinion so it doesn't get introduced.

Yeah, I know the feeling. We discussed it a lot, can see the good and the bad in both choices and that's why we will let the community decide. It can be better for the longevity of the competition and it will probably increase the banter even further - imagine you buy a Div1 club and get relegated.
It will be fun to track though, it is crypto after all so consider your club as your unique NFT - I'm curious to see how valuable people think these are. The downside might be that someone loses interest after selling the club, but then the person buying it has increased interest as well.

We'll choose whatever you guys decide to do, but remember that if we feel that the call we made is wrong for the competition we can always revoke it (with proper prior announcements of course).

The coming season and the one after are going to be very exciting, with newcomers, new rules and new divisions. But what about late/missing submission rules and penalties? They will remain the same as the ones of the 4th season, or we'll need to wait a bit more to discover the new ones?

They will be the same as this season - we will just make an added rule regarding the end of season freebet rewards - but it is a minor tweak.
With LMS running in parallel with BSFL, it makes it even more expensive to forget your submissions.

All those that have 2 points per round or less will be eliminated, if everybody has 3 or more points, those with the next worst result will be eliminated (those with 3 points, or 4 if nobody has 3 etc).

This part is kinda confusing so basically if everybody has 3 points then the next round lowest gap to survive will be changed into 3 points instead of 2 points?

Nope, in that round those with 3 will be eliminated and in the next round it goes back to 2 (or next lowest) again.

Well its quite unlikely but I could totally smell tons of elimination each week. It would be pretty hard to survive all 15 rounds. We might even have less than 5 people sharing $500 free bets in the end

Love everything about season but still expecting jackpot bonus here  Roll Eyes

I like the previous rule, its simple and quite punishing so sticking with that seems fair.

interesting top 5 promoted to division 1, I remember in the first season I started in div 3 and since it was top 4 direct promotion and I was lucky to finish 4th and I was promoted, I hope to finish in top 5 next season

Top 5 teams will be promoted directly from Division 2 to Division 1.
13th team from Division 1 will play a 1v1 decider against the 6th placed team from Division 2 for the spot in Division 1.
With the top 5 teams getting automatic promotion to Division 1, there's no excuse for me not to put in some real effort and go for back-to-back promotions. Can't wait for it to start!  Grin

Lovely update, Cro2. More or less in line with what I was expecting, the best news for me is the expansion (it means more players, which is always a good thing). The LMS addition is a close second, more jeopardy for everyone involved. I didn't do too badly with risk taking here, and I believe if NL won EURO, I would have been in the top spot. Good risk to take for me.

Curious to see how selling positions could look like. Never selling mine, but some clubs might wonder if they will relegate anyway and sell to start life anew. Div1 prizes are the biggest -- but if you win promotions your prizes are potentially a bit better than sitting in too-shit-to-win-but-not-shit-enough-to-drop positions.

We’re happy to announce BSFL Season 5, logo rewards, additional LMS side-competition and some changes that will start with Season 6*.

* Just a side note, Season 6 isn’t yet confirmed, we go season by season and get extensions based on BSFL forum metrics. These are really good so there’s no reason to doubt BSFL will not reach Season 6.

Season 5

  • As it currently stands, we start the Season 5 with 60 teams. Divisions 1 and 2 have 16 players each, meaning that Division 3 will have to be divided into A and B again and will have 14 teams in each Division.
This will be expanded if we receive more members before the start of the season.
  • Newbie member russeras will be allowed to participate in the Cup and LMS while we evaluate him as BSFL member. He might be allowed to participate from Season 5 as well, based on Division 3 setup (if there is an odd number of regular players, he will fill the spot). Otherwise he will join Division 4 in Season 6.
  • A new influx of players means that we have to expand the top Divisions and we will do it in Season 6. Therefore we have more promotion spots open this season.
  • Bottom 3 teams will be relegated from Division 1 to Division 2. Top 5 teams will be promoted directly from Division 2 to Division 1.
13th team from Division 1 will play a 1v1 decider against the 6th placed team from Division 2 for the spot in Division 1.
  • Bottom 3 teams from Division 2 will be directly relegated to Division 3.
Top 2 teams from Division 3A and Division 3B will get direct promotions and 3rd overall from Division 3A and 3B will play a 1v1 decider. The winner will get automatic promotion to Division 2 and the loser will play a 1v1 decider against 13th team from Division 2 for the last spot in that Division.
  • We will have relegation for the first time from Division 3. As it currently stands, bottom 3 teams will be relegated to Division 4 that will start in Season 6. If more people join before the deadline, it can be bottom 4, bottom 5 teams etc.

Logo rewards

  • SB really likes the logo additions. In agreement with notblox1, our official logo maker, top 3 teams from Division 1 and Division 2 that don’t already have logos will get them free of charge each following season until all clubs in top 2 Divisions have them.
  • We will then probably continue doing the same for Division 3. There are no plans to have logos in Division 4 but you can make them individually.
  • All clubs that receive logos will be required to make a short 'team summary' post - you can see how they look by clicking on any member's name that already has a logo in the league table.

LMS side-competition

  • LMS format will become a regular side event from the next seasons of BSFL. It will work similar to the EUROS and will consist of 15 standard BSFL league rounds.
Points earned in these rounds will be accumulated and the one that survived 15 rounds and has the highest total will be pronounced as the winner.
Points will be taken from the ‘freebet’ column calculation, not from Head to Head results, with 1 minor correction – to win a H2H point for LMS, it will not be enough to have the best result it in your league but across all the leagues combined.
  • All those that have 2 points per round or less will be eliminated, if everybody has 3 or more points, those with the next worst result will be eliminated (those with 3 points, or 4 if nobody has 3 etc).
  • There will be buy-backs, the fee will be increased every 5 rounds. The buy-backs are not fixed yet but will probably be 0,25 mBTC after rounds 1-5, 0,5 mBTC after rounds 6-10 and 1 mBTC after rounds 10-14.
  • You will have to survive the last round to be able to claim the reward. Everybody that survived 15 rounds (excluding the winner(s)) will share the additional 500$ freebets pool equally.

Season 6

  • In Season 6 we will start with 18 players in all 3 top Divisions. There will be a single Division 3 and a buy-in fee will have to be paid to play.
Buy-in for Division 3 will be low, we will define it at the beginning of the season, but the buy-ins will probably follow a 3x formula – meaning that Div3 would cost x, Div2 3x and Div1 9x.
That means that if a Div3 spot is 0,25 mBTC, a Div2 spot is 0,75 and a Div1 spot 2.25 mBTC. We will of course evaluate this more, but we want to keep the fee in Division 3 really low and also increase it in Division 1 – to make it a bit riskier to play.
All fees would go into the rewards pool of course. Relegation from Division 1 should hurt a little bit more.
  • Division 4 will be fully amateur, free to play and without any BTC rewards, with a possibility of some freebet awards only for final placement for top teams. There will be no penalties and Division 4 members will have free participation in the Cup and LMS side-competitions.
It will be possible to achieve promotion, the promotion/relegation system will follow the same pattern as the top leagues – meaning that the bottom 3 get relegated automatically and the 4th bottom team plays a 1v1 decider.
If division 4 has 5 players, that still means that 4 of them can get promoted.
  • Depending on the number of teams in Division 4, they will either play each other 3 times per season or Division 4 will last a bit shorter - we will decide that at the beginning of each season.

Selling your spots?

  • Pending a poll that we will run in the 1st round of questions, we will allow the selling of BSFL positions. You will be the ones to decide, and if over 50% of the members want to see that feature we will make it happen.
  • That would mean that we would be going the Superleague way in BSFL and from Season 6 onwards it would be possible to sell your spots in the leagues.
Example – if casperBGD wants out, he can sell his spot to the highest bidder. There would be a public auction for the spot and the highest bidder would claim that spot. Also, a player could say he’s willing to buy a Div1 club for x mBTC, and wait for offers.
  • A club that is bought forever pays a 20% extra participation fee or a 50% higher fee for the next season (buyers choice), while a club that sold its position goes into the lowest possible league at that point, currently Division 4.
  • This means that it can lead to major positions reshuffle. Example: a Div2 player buys a Div1 club. That Div2 team is now a Div1 team, but the Div1 team that sold the club does not go into Div2 but into Div4.
This means that 1 more team gets promoted from Division 3 to Division 2 and 1 more team gets promoted from Division 4 to Division 3 after season ends.
The team that ended the season on a highest place that did not earn promotion will be the one that is promoted.
  • Therefore, clubs can be sold only in a short period between the end of the season and the rewards payment, that is usually around 2 weeks because the Cup final is always the formal end of the season.

We're listening to your feedback and hope you like the changes we are making!
