He's is low in ATP ranking list, he's been in the top 10 since 2005 and only dropped out last year simply because of the injury that kept him out for a really long time, and there was no way he's ATP points would have remained, so, in other words his low ranking isn't a factor decided by him playing terribly or losing his form, but rather not playing at all. Unlike other players around equal rankings currently as Nadal, Nadal will get to play every major grand slam this year, if he doesn't withdraw through injury or other reasons, and he wouldn't need to go through any qualifying phase for that.

Man should have retired while still clapping hard; I've always like it when people leave it at the clapping stage rather than waiting until they've lost everything before retiring. Tiger Woods, Alonso, and Hamilton were all monarchs, with the world at their feet. There is nothing else to watch about them now. They don't even interest me anymore...

Submitted answers - a must win round for me.

Yeah, I would agree with you, but with these sportsmen it's always a very tough decision to call it quit on a sports and passion they've dedicated all their to, It's not not really about the revenue but rather the joy they derive every time they step on the court to do their thing.

Speaking of free points; it seems I might have to protest on this, for 4 freaking seasons I've never gotten just a single one  Angry

Haha. I was also gonna wait for today's tennis games to end, but I had real life stuff interfering with my online life so I had to submit early.
Real life, what's that?  Grin
I did not submit my picks so congrats to @Jinetics1111  Roll Eyes

Bro I realized that and wondered what happened? Cause I saw you post in CHTV chat like 30 mins earlier, but on that note thanks although I was looking forward to our battle.  Grin Grin Grin

Damn, had to submit Alcaraz. It's 3-3 in TB against Struff, I have a feeling Carlos might lose this.

Just look at the submission times for most of us. All eyes on it hahah.

EDIT: Alcaraz is through at the end - I'm gonna check who gambled otherwise. Not many I suppose.

Haha. I was also gonna wait for today's tennis games to end, but I had real life stuff interfering with my online life so I had to submit early. I decided to go with Zverev instead of Alcaraz that all of you answered. Maybe I'll get rewarded because I went against the majority Smiley

I see that I was 59 seconds away from a free win, but I can't get that lucky. cls63 was late and gave free points to vd309. And imarios... Damn... You submitted 10 secondary before the deadline. You have some nerves... Grin

I see many of us silly people waiting around for Sinner and Alcaraz games -- the latter of course just had to take it all the way to tiebreak, but once he was 3-0 up, didn't need to wait to hit send. Then as soon as I write this, Struff goes 4-3!

Actually really hate to leave it late but it really looked wobbly for them both, didn't it?

Of course, it'll all go to hell when they both drop out at semis haha.

If I remember correctly, the questions for the cup competition have not been published yet. I looked to see if I missed it but I couldn't find it, are you sure?
Round 8 was published and I should have sent the answers within 2-3 hours after it was published. If I missed the cup questions, I would like to answer them quickly

Nope, Cup will get a separate week - it is never combined with the league round.
As always, the questions will be posted on Sunday, with Tuesday as the submission deadline.

Still not sure what answers to choose, I can't find an edge in any of the questions. My form has really been shit, I need a win ASAP.

No bro Wink
Nadal keeps winning, maybe he wants to win one last trophy in Madrid, but old man is so low ranked now in ATP list.

Very good news  Grin
For me I see there is chance of another rematch with Slissy if we both get passed the next Cup round against Woodie and Dittoup.

It is so sad to be out of the cup this early.  Sad  My players have lost some morale after this early elimination but I'm trying to prepare them for our next game. We need to be ready for a tough challenge against vd309. It is nice to see an F1 question in this round. To be honest I haven't been following NBA regularly this season. But I will do my best on that question too.  Tongue  Seeing Palmer among the questions reminds me of how I got eliminated in the cup.  Cry

No, they weren't posted yet. Sorry for the confusion. I thought that you are facing jayce in this round and that you are still waiting for the questions to be posted. All good Smiley

I think it could work but only in cup games when there will be options for penalties incase there is a tie, and why would anyone deliberate lose to win a point when that means they won't qualify ? that's a conflict of interest every question and points counts towards a person qualifying so if they chose "No" and don't qualify intentionally, yes they'd win a point, but still not qualify at the end o the day, so they win a battle but lose the war.

I'm still not certain that I understand what you are proposing. So, you mean that the question in the second round of a cup week is who will qualify in the first part of the week? If that's the case, then it could work. But that kind of question is impossible to research so it would be more based on luck than on ability to research.

I'm actually not proposing anything my response is directed towards the previous post saying it could work if implemented, but of course there will be something issues here and there towards approaching the best way to put such question into play without possible exploitation or loop holes at first. However, as the boss already said there wouldn't be any need to worry about that, at least for now.

--------------------------

The tennis question is really going to be tough, Alcaraz with a definite tough game, Struff have been really impressive in the past few weeks winning his last 7 games in straight set and most of them are against top class players like Auger-Aliassime, Rune, Taylor Fritz and Ugo Humbert, His last defeat was from Sinner. So, I'm might just wait this out without Alcaraz because he's got a cast around his injured right hand and I don't know if he's fully healed or would be able to play through it all week long, however there aren't too many tough potential match up on his side of the bracket, so it's a really tricky tricky decision here, could probably have been easier If Casper Ruud was on his side of the bracket, given the impressive form Ruud is currently on.

I'm impatiently waiting for the questions to come. I hope it will be mainly soccer and basketball and it will be better in terms of competition Cheesy
Other sports may increase the chances of a draw between us, so I would like it to be all about soccer.
May the better man win, jayce. Good luck to you too Smiley

What do you mean? The questions are already posted here in the thread. I'm on my phone so I don't feel like searching the exact post and linking it here, but cryptofrka posted it last night (or morning, or afternoon, depends on the timezone Grin ). Just look it up in the thread.

Since I don't follow tennis that closely, I thought that he already ended his career and I was very surprised to see him in the tournament. It's pretty admirable that he managed to beat the 11th player on the ATP list (de Minaur) so I guess he still has enough motivation and strength to play against the best.

I'd like to bet on Hhampuz against a rusty Buwaytress team  Grin Grin
Yo agree here, this needs a Sportsbet special Wink

Hhampuz beat one top guy already, and he did super good in last season cup IIRC

Why you all be hating on me :p

I backed Chi20 all the way last season but I'd back Hhampuz too -- they seem really good at KO comps. I wouldn't bet on myself, every win has been a scrape, every loss has been devastating (refer to my GD).

Hhampuz will have to wait, though, right now it's one of my old rivals...

Now it is time to get back in BSFL title league run and next game is with brother team buwaytress.
Our supporters are ready for another spectacle Smiley

Nah, don't worry - we won't have questions about BSFL in BSFL.
Well - maybe later, when we go global and have 20 million players and fans screaming outside of our windows.

We'll see what we can do about betting though. We usually reserve it for the Cup Finals but Hhampuz - buwaytress is a duel worth betting on.

No, no... I don't think it's a good idea to have questions on BSFL. Actually, I'm not sure how would those questions be settled. If one's progression to the next round depends on one questions and it's a question on who will progress, how would you settle that? It would be impossible.

Plus, there will always be suspicion that someone deliberately lost just to get one point. I don't think that we should do that.
