Sweet! Thanks a lot.  Cool

This is great fun so far. I have no clue most of the time, but least how you get involved with many kinds of sports and learn about them.  Cheesy

I have checked out Round 4 questions and I still can't be confident about myself despite having a solid start. Because it is really not easy to predict the results of U21 or U19 matches as I'm not following these tournaments very closely. The tennis questions in this round also seem a little challenging. But I liked the F1 question as it is certainly one of the sports I have been following for many years. Maybe this can even be the decider for me and I can gain advantage depending on my opponent's choice.

I can't wait to see new season starts for the football leagues. The questions would be much more fun then.  Smiley

To be honest, I rely more on luck in this 4th round at least 50% rely on research and 50% based on feeling somehow I got a deadlock while doing research, but no problem I'm still confident because in the 3rd round almost all the points I got based on luck I mean my answer is right in a match that I don't understand like NBA, Tennis and E-sports while 4 answers for soccer have failed even though this is a sport that I understand  Cheesy I am excited after getting my first win, progress continues to move after bad results in round 1-2. By the way, what are the conditions for me to take a place in Division 2?

Those experts need to let us know when there is a big even that can be considered more important then those regular ones we have often.

what about Royal Liverpool golf tournament in four weeks?
it is a up-middle tournament, and last time that was held, Rory McIlroy took his first major trophy

back to topic, interesting questions this week, and almost none could be answered by heart, have to check who is playing on almost each
maybe third can be "tried" without looking at stats, but it is this part of the season, almost like "boxing days" in EPL, when you have to try harder to get points

So many red on the spreadsheet, yet you're able to score four goals in a round when most of us are lucky to earn one lol. I've never been this bad at my game; I was overconfident and threw in my answers early. I had a feeling you'd hit the ground running in the champoinship.

I have to admit it's pure luck. Last season I spent a hell lot of time researching and reading, especially on DOTA, this season of course I still looked and read but I didn't spend too much time to overthink.

Example Alcaraz, he's good but everyone was talking about injury and grass, but I just saw he was the biggest favorite. Easy.

DOTA the same. I took one look at liquipedia and put in the best teams (but it ended up only 1 of them reached final and lost) but I doubt researching would help there.

The Cro2's wording of the Alcaraz injury sentence I expected he was going to collapse during one of those games or get knocked out in the semi-finals since those games are always fierce, but I had no idea he was going to nash everyone to the final, which is why he is world number one. This game does not always necessitate extensive research; sometimes simply following your instincts works quite well, as everything is 98% luck and 2% experience.

buwatress send me your BTC address! We shall meet again congrats.

Congrats to leea for the third win and handing my first loss. I did so poorly this round that I couldn't even get the Dota question correctly despite watching the tournament from start to finish.  Tongue

It is my first experience in the BSFL and it has started like a nightmare. With Round 3 results it is going to be 1 draw and 2 losses already.  Sad
We still have several weeks before the season ends, and the gap isn't wide yet to start worrying. I also had a bad start last season and eventually found my momentum with the easier matchups midway through the season.

@leea-1334 is holding strong indeed! Time to put that winning streak to an end soon Tongue

Starting with 0 points out of the first 3 questions, I can't complain that it still turned in my favor. Without the really lucky 3 or 4 goals question in the EURO U21 games this would have ended in a draw between ulven and me. Luck exhausted for me now? Wink

I like this set of questions as it seems to not be as time consuming, which is also cool sometimes.

Good luck @LFC_Bitcoin but please understand that I am not trying to be the one to give you the first 3-pointer Smiley

Now I am just wondering when are we gonna get MMA since next week is supposed to be very quiet and I saw several times it's being brought up, I'm not a big fan for sure but it makes sense that should be in BSFL especially if we have one or two experts here, correct? Smiley
To be fair all those MMA events look to be similar to us who don't follow the sports. They are called MMA227 not World Cup or something. Those experts need to let us know when there is a big even that can be considered more important then those regular ones we have often.

Only football gets special treatment and gets included for smaller events. Ok this week tennis got included as well even though it is smaller tournaments. Fringe sports need to be limited to few times per season max. DOTA is played every week but you will not get the DOTA question every week, maybe three or max four times during the season when there are bigger tier 1 tournaments.

Congrats on your two consecutive wins, the tennis question being the most difficult one to predict especially Alcaraz getting to the final on grass it's quite amazing in my opinion and he has a chance to be a champion, and if he can do that it will be his first title in grass tournament, and as a warning to Djokovic as he will again face a big challenge from the Spaniard at Wimbledon later.

Thank you! I'm very happy and it's a good start after suffering so long. Now I hope the luck transfers to my fellow battler LFC_Bitcoin. But fuuu I hope Djokovic and Alcaraz meet again with no injuries!

F1 questions are by far the hardest minus Verstappen!

It is my first experience in the BSFL and it has started like a nightmare. With Round 3 results it is going to be 1 draw and 2 losses already.  Sad

The questions were quite difficult for me in general in this round honestly. I hoped to get a draw at worst but my opponent did really good. It seems like I will need to be more patient to get my first win in the league.  Grin  I haven't watched a DOTA tournament even for once in my life. I still managed to answer the question correctly just by making an assessment taking the statistics of the teams into account. At least this made me happy for this round but I hope next round questions are more advantageous for me.

Don't worry, sometimes it really is just about bad luck. I didn't get a single win from last season and suddenly now I have a good start, and also making freebet placing running in 2 weeks, but you never know what happens and I could still get relegated again if I have another bad streak.

90% of us never watched DOTA and never will, but we still can do enough research Smiley

Lol, no I wasn't kidding.  I've been doing horribly in these competitions.  I have about a 50/50 chance when answering most of the questions about soccer, specifically EPL, but most of the other stuff is rooted around sports with which I'm unfamiliar.
To quote Jerry Seinfeld from that famous "the opposite" episode, "if every instinct you have is wrong, then the opposite would have to be right" so maybe you should just start answering the opposite of what you think is gonna happen. George did it and this tactic brought him women and job at NY Yankess lol so maybe it will work for you too.  Cheesy

Anyway, I see that it was a draw in the end. GG

so Gaimin won over BB, and that leaves me with a draw
TBH, draw seems to be a fair outcome for last week match with LTU_btc, congrats on a good fight Smiley

tennis question with Rublev and Bublik, and USA failing to win over Jamaica, with Evertonian Demarai Gray assist for Jamaica were probably biggest surprises this week, Belgium left undefeated, but U21 football is expected to be filled with surprises

onwards to next round, will have to check questions, but happy to see that there is no DOTA this week

After seeing PSG go down to the gladiators, I was so sure that BetBoom was going to win against Gaimin, but then again for Gladiators to knockout PSG was a clear sign that these boys meant  business and boy did they bring the house down when they faced BetBoom and that's how a point was rescued for me, phew Cool

Btw the guys in division 2 arent playing around when it comes to the competition, and my general performance so far is below average and disappointing...need to shake  this up a note !

Renato297 well played  Cool and great questions cro2  Cry

So I should thank the BetBoom guys for not making it a two losses in a row. Congrats to mitchr4 for a good fight this week. Now I have to see the next week questions. I'm glad that there is no DOTA in it Grin

BetBoom is already in the final and they will play the winner from PSG and GG. That screenshot you posted looks confusing I agree, this one is much better to explain it.

This DOTA questions are stupid, and you have advantage because you watch that, sorry Trofo Sad
I think you won this time thanks to DOTA and this could be one of my worst rounds so far.
Sour looser, my favorite kind, means I got into your head  Grin You should have won this one long before DOTA, by far my worst round and only win of the season. RNG at its best. I feel the same about all American sports. To make it worse Americans themselves classified them as entertainment so that players can use any substance they want.

You know if you have some fringe sports you are following, feel free to send us a question about it in these months where there isn't that much proper sports. We wanted to include cricket game in last round but did not know how to make the question so that it is finished before the deadline. Only two conditions it has to be bulletproof (covering all possible outcomes) and reasonably easy to grade (official page with results).

Here are the results for round three. 4 players received one point penalty for late submission. That is already included in main table and penalty table.
Those players are:

arallmuus

The spreadsheet has been updated with results, it is not official yet. Please recheck your duels and let us know in case of some mistakes.

After seeing this image, I definitely hate DOTA questions. I haven't seen this kind of schedule in any other sport where we have two brackets (ie. tennis). It doesn't make sense. And this definitely will make this week between me and mitchr4 a draw because I f*cked up my answer to the last question. At least I won't lose two weeks in a row Grin
Dota is not a sport, except if you count time wasting as sport, but I am voting for them to stop including this not sport questions  Grin

Hey fellas, sorry for the absence during the last few days. Trofo had it covered Smiley

Hey fellas, sorry for the absence during the last few days. Trofo had it covered Smiley

Ayo, may I ask how will the last question be graded for Bonta? His answer was simply "Glamin Gladiators" I guess as outright winner. Will we get a point for final if the GG actually get there, or not because he didn't explicitily predicted them as finalists and you are allowed to predict a winner that you didn't pick as finalist?
As it is now I get a guaranteed win if anything other than a jamaican win by exactly 1 goal but I can get a draw if jamaica wins by exactly 1 goal and depending how the last question will be graded for Bonta.

It was graded both as the semifinalist and the winner – it's only logical that we take this answer as the winning team, and if it's the winning team it has to reach the semifinals too.

Considering the submission was not entirely correct, we could have introduced a penalty for both Bonta and DireWolfM14 – they inserted only 1 team but did get at least part of it correctly so we decided not to in this round since we also penalized only completely wrong answers in previous rounds. The same is for famososMuertos who has Alcaraz as Halle winner and he played in Queen’s tournament.

Be more careful guys, for now we are introducing penalties only if you are totally off the mark in your answers – but these cases are borderline and will probably be penalized from next season onwards.

The questions for Round 4 are here!

The deadline is standard, Tuesday June 27th, 17:00 GMT.

Not much happening but we didn't feel like skipping the round, there's still some excitement to be had with U-21 Euros, Copa, tennis and Formula 1.

We will rate this week's results as soon as the DOTA match finishes, it's currently 2-2 in a best out of 5 matchup.

Personally I like Champs League style, I love that City can fall at any time despite being the best team in the world. Or Real. Or whomever. I can imagine the horror of upper/lower bracket format in Champions League if teams decide they can risk experimenting or even hurting the opponent in the first game (they might feel, it's okay to lose, they can beat the winner of the lower bracket easily), to ensure they have an easier final.

agree, I think that bracket style is more for competition where there are several teams that are equal, not few top favorites
looking at tennis for example, with brackets one will not be able to kick-out Djokovic from any tournament, losing one can happen, but two almost impossible
City would be same example in CL, but on Euroleague in Basketball this bracket style would maybe be improvement
