But I think that casuals are as well interested in a certain level of competitive integrity. As soon as you take skin out of the game for those who can harm the competition even deliberately (like simply not submitting an answer in H2H), you take away some of the least requirement for integrity, which is "if you submit, submit all answers". I think that integrity would actually attract more people than shy them away. I like the competition here and since it is a long-term thing, I think it would be bad if someone gets relegated or not promoted because someone else decided to give away 3 points to a potential direct competitor. But your competition, your rules.

We fully agree with this, yes. We'd like to once again ask all players to be fair to the competition and submit all answers, because skipping some of them directly harms some people in the league and helps others.
There's actually no easy fix for this - because even if we do punish the player who does not submit the damage is still done - it does not change the outcome for the affected party.

Still - we'll take what you said into serious consideration because we understand it's a crappy feeling when a person close to you on the table is getting points for free.
For now think about it like when club like Manchester City wins the title and then in the last 2 league games fields mostly juniors and saves main players for Champions League. If they play against clubs fighting relegation battle is totally unfair situation since they destroyed other clubs from bottom of the table and now they will even possibly loose points. So if organizations like Premier League did not find a way to regulate it how can we?

We will think about it, but whatever we do somebody can still find a way to avoid our measures. Best thing to do is to have a bunch of people playing that mutually respect one another and do whatever possible to uphold fair play. We are quite happy how first season went so far and I think it can only get better in the future as rivalries and friendships form among out group.

But would Manchester City ever decide to play with 9 guys instead of 11? That is why I said refusing to provide answers when you even submitted it in a timely manner comes with a very bad taste for several reasons. Again, and then I am closing this discussion on my part, filling out all questions but skipping the H2H when it actually asks for the final participants and the winner of the ATP in Madrid, that's weird. And I am quite sure that a B team of Manchester City is still able to beat an A team of some of those competing in the relegation zone of the table. But let's see if Manchester City decides to only bring on 9 guys instead of 11 and allow their goalkeeper to be an offender, should they secure the Premier League title early. Neither would Manchester City be allowed to do that, nor would they consider it for a second. It is deliberately destroying the competition beyond what is acceptable on any terms.

This round has come to an end and I won and that was what I wanted the most, to get to my last exciting round against Trofo, I know that my rival did not answer 2 questions and it is an advantage for me, but in the case removing the tennis point and that he would have beaten me in Dota, I would still win the round

Lol Arsenal try to catch up with their own shadow,  they will not win this title but great game from them and expected a better performance from Newcastle not what we saw today Tongue

5.3 seconds what a #$&@ driver, Sergio Perez didn't see this coming after looking like he was taking it home as the hot favourite ,but what can I say team Redbull is doing the most...these cars are destroying the competition at will,  hope team Mercedes will come through stronger in the next meet (EMILIA ROMAGNA GRAND PRIX)

I expected a better game from them as well , and yeah I picked between 4-7 seconds so I'm very happy with that result, although I thought when he was up 20 seconds I was fried!! Grin Grin

What you are saying makes sense, but we won't be introducing such penalties. We think that the competition should be open for the casuals as well, and they will fall into the lower leagues very soon with this approach, or stay in them.
It's a shame when someone gets a free point against a player like that, but we really don't want to be too strict with it.

Considering that it's the first season, we're actually quite surprised that almost all of you answer all the questions on time.

Weren't the league matches going to be played this week? It is even much better for me if the calendar has changed. After consecutive point losses giving a break for some time will be good for me absolutely. Good luck to the 4 people challenging in the cup.

8-14.5. - league
15-21.5. - cup (SF, Final)

It is sad to see that all those who won the tennis question only did so because they benefitted from someone refusing to submit an answer despite not being late. I get that in @jayce case it wouldn't have mattered as he was late anyway.

Don't get me wrong here, but I would really like to understand why someone refuses to answer questions when they are totally fine in terms of time. "I have no idea about the sport" really is no excuse because I, yes me personally, I have zero idea about DOTA2, never played it, never followed it, don't know a single player from the entire DOTA2 scene and never read any articles out of interest, but the least you can do to keep the competition fair is to open up a gambling website and pick the favorites.

Now someone could say "I still didn't feel like answering the DOTA question because too complex". Alright, but then seriously, how is someone not able to fill out the tennis question? How is that possible? I mean tennis is not nice sport and seriously, putting down Alcaraz should be possible for everyone. Even if you get the seeds wrong and didn't check the brackets, it would still cost you around 20 seconds to check the outrights for the ATP Madrid and nobody would have gotten a point because everyone would have put down Alcaraz.

I see this is as a problem specifically for the H2H questions. It does have influence on the standings in the table and it often really makes zero sense when almost an entire column is filled with the same answers, but less than a handful of people score because some refuse to answer questions even when they submitted way in time. I don't know, but refusing to fill out questions should perhaps come at a penalty. I understand when someone comes late one time in a season because it can happen and so did it to me one time in round 5, but other than that penalties should become a thing.

Maybe for both, that those who come late or refuse to answer questions get a penalty in the final table, not in the head to head. That way everyone would benefit in the same way. We could also discuss a "one joker per season" solution for coming late, but I think a penalty should apply.

When it happened to me in round 5 I did have personal reasons and I certainly still wanted to win the competition as you could see and I did lose it because one correct answer wasn't counted as I was late. But not filling in two H2H questions at all is like giving the other person 3 free points on purpose.

As the remaining answers won't change the result I think I got a draw with Slissy. My championship chance has ended unfortunately with this draw. In a round that we didn't make very good predictions, a draw isn't a bad result for both of us. If I lose points to Igebotz in the final round I will lose the 3rd place.

I wish good luck to Slissy and jeremypwr in the championship race on the final week. Both of them deserve to be the champion to the end...

I was very close to achieving victory in this round against my opponent @ralle14. Due to the loss of Union Berlin in the German league, I lost a part of the competition, but there is still hope to achieve a tie because my answer to the question about the Miami track is different from my opponent's answer. It's green because your opponent didn't provide a valid answer or it was submitted late, therefore you automatically get the point. I hope that makes sense.

congratulations- I'm currently tied with my opponents, and things aren't going well. Cool

Yeah, I get that. But does it count for the freebet points? I hope not because that wouldn't be fair to the others. Oh, I see that I have another point for the NBA question. I guess that I can marke this week as a definitive win because I'm 5-0 against famososMuetros.
Cmonn man, cryptofrka wrote about H2H question when free bets are concerned at least 5 times now. You have much better explanation from him in several spots in this thread but here is in short:
H2H questions are graded differently for duels and free bet. For duel you just need to be better than your opponent. For free bet you have to be better than your whole division. Your opponent not posting answers means absolutely nothing for free bets.

Looks like cryptofrka will never stop explaining the local rules  Grin so i didn't make sense at last.

Lol I can't believe slackovic won the tennis question by putting almost same answer as all of us but that's his luck Wink I wish I get a round where my opponent is late or doesn't show though, just not the next round since it's already relegation for me hehe

And don't worry mate Harkorede, you can go ahead and win this without any feeling of guilt. I made my own destiny many times in this league, so it is fully my doing, not you or anyone Wink

Man, I will never understand those head2head questions. Did I get a point because my opponent sent his answers too late? I was wondering how come that my answer is green and others that gave the same answer is yellow. I guess I'm just lucky Grin

I don't know if I'm early to say that I won this round since it's currently 4-0 for me, but if I win it I think that my first spot in the division 2 is secured. I hope I didn't just jinx myself with saying this Grin haha

H2H just means your opponent answer is the only thing that matters. But to me yes you should have been a draw so the only thing here you're right I think FM sent answers late.

I have not benefited yet from late answers but I guess Div1 had nobody ever giving late?

Well done on your first spot, you will replace me in Div 1;)

I understand you mate but the 2nd division should be a very competitive one for the next season too, imo, GL!

Thanks my mate, and I don't even mind competing in Div 3 or whatever, it was actually an honor for me to be selected for Div1 this opening season, and an honor to give everyone points each round lol.

I'm like Chelsea this season, giving everyone free points :p

On bright side, I don't have to pay fee next season hehe
