Well i think we are all in the same boat, is a very strange Eurocup so far.

I still cant believe what is England doing, i really dont know, super boring and ugly football they are playing. And France..... come on how you cant beat Poland? it can be real.

The worst part is most of the good teams are in the same side of the bracket now.

I agree. England are performing much worse than I expected. They were the most favoured team for the championship before Euro 2024 started. But with this performance it looks quite difficult to make it.

France and England are always slow in the group stages. I would expect the game tempo to change after the R16; what we're seeing now is just the icing on the cake. I'm not sure who needs to hear this, but Bowen or Gordon behind Harry Kane may be the calming force they need.

I got the perfect group B bracket pick... Got 24 points so far

Austria tops Group D, this Euros is wild man.
Before EURO started I heard reports that Austria team can be one of the surprises in this EURO, but after they lost first match against France I thought they are nothing special.
Oh boy was I wrong, or maybe France didnt play like many people expected.

I can't believe how boring this group C has been. Glad it's over today and all the worst to England going forward - they should be ashamed of this shit even if they end up winning the EURO.
I was saying exactly the same thing, most boring group ever, almost as my performance in Last Man Standing Grin

I still have 1 point today but thankfully there are still so many other people with 0 points. My position is still quite risky of course. For now I'm likely to collect another point on the Denmark - Serbia question. Serbia have been performing really poorly. I think Denmark might get ahead but Serbia wouldn't be able to equalize it so it would be enough for me.  Smiley

Greece in 2004 was more offensive than this.

Mainoo finally getting some minutes, I can't stand Man Utd but this guy can be top class.

Anyway, England is pretty boring to watch. Southgate have all those quality players on all position but they couldnt score a single goal on first half, its just dumb to watch and I really hope that France/Austria would kick them out on top 16 playoff

There goes my point and also I need 2-3 changes from Denmark - serbia. This one is looking pretty bad right now as well

I don't know how long Southgate is England's coach, but it's pretty long. And for as long as I remember, England plays bad. Not only against strong teams, but also against teams that should be weaker then them. Today there wasn't single 100% chance that England created in front of Slovenia goal. Justa boring game that will be quickly forgotten.

France 1-1 Poland
Netherlands 2-3 Austria

I streamed these matches while were playing and I must admit it was a very entertaining experience. The league table kept changing as the matches were being played with France, Netherlands and Austria alternative in the 1st to 3rd position. At some point France will be at the top, later they will drop and Netherland will top the group which will later give way for Austria to also top. In the end Austria finally top the group with France coming second. Indeed no one expected this result because many gamblers felt France will easily win Poland to secure first position. Indeed the Euro is totally weird.

This Euro was very unpredictable from the start. Maybe the only one who predicted a lot of outcomes are the top 4 or 5 of the players that play this competition. I knew that jeremypwr is good at predicting so I expected him to do good. For others I don't know if they are just lucky or they really know the stuff.

Well to be fair, it was predictable atleast until the first round. Except for Slovakia that won against Belgium, everything just went down as most predictions but yeah everything is just more entertaining when it comes to upset results

I remember seeing a tweet where someone talked about the EUROs being predictable after match-day 1 and almost every match since then became almost impossible to predict.

I have been holding out lots of high hopes for the poor performing teams since the stat of the tournament. I expected France to perform better today, maybe England will remain as bad as they have been as well.

I cannot buy a point now even if I tried.

It is wild, but Austria definitely deserves this win. They played very well and proved that they can go far in the EURO2024. Netherlands finished the group as third nation, but with four points they will surely qualify for the next round.

Also, France and Poland ended up with a draw wasn't expected. At least I didn't expect it. I definitely didn't expect Poland to end with only one point.

I don't think it was Dalic fault or maybe not completely just in part at fault. The reason is the same and that is that Dalic cannot do that much with the age that these players have, most of them will be out regarding playing in a next major tournament and this is the part where Dalic is not at fault,he is at fault for not opting for young talented players to try and put them in the squad in order to have the team prepared for the next major event. If he is sacked the new coach should definitely start by improving the team age, conceding a goal in the 98th minute of a decisive game confirms this even further.

I think that conceding a goal in the last minute is not necessarily the problem, by the way 9 games have had goals in this way in Euro 2024, the thing is that they start badly with Spain, everything adds up to the goal difference, they were 3 goals, then they tie with Alabania, which in fact those 3 goals from Spain matter, any coach/team knows that if their last phase 1 match is against Italy, they must arrive with better qualification options.

Modric, great, let it be known that I put Croatia to win 1-0 in the Pool, a fan not only of words but of actions.  -/  Roll Eyes   /-

Ought to feel proud of myself for picking up a point from Germany's failure to win. Shitty time for Italy to start conceding, but I suppose I should have paid attention to what I myself saw in previous Cro games.

Football is round, or so some German saying goes. I'm picking different in pool, in LMS, and on bets. Everyone draws and I lose everything, anyway ha. #nojinx

Netherlands. Haha.

Whose fault is it when old an (unfortunately) uncapable players play for the national team? Of course, it's the coach fault because he is the one who chose to play with those players. I'm not saying that he shouldn't have put Modric from the start, but there are others that younger players could have play instead of. The first name is Brozovic. Maybe we don't have another player to play in his spot, but there are two options - change the tactics or invite other players who can play instead of him.

But OK... That's enough about Croatia. We will see how other games will end. I read in the Croatian media that we need England to beat Slovenia with at least three goals and Serbia to lose against Denmark. While I can see Denmark beating Serbia, I definitely can't see England scoring three goals to Slovenia. But... It's football and anything is possible.

This 'best 3rd place' rule can be played very smartly by certain teams, and Ivory Coast really used the group stage well, reserved everything for the knockouts onwards.
I haven't watched a single AFCON game so I can't be 100% sure, but I seriously doubt that Ivory Cost planned to be 3rd or anything of that sort because if that was indeed planned, they wouldn't sack the manager after the group phase. After all, you can't even plan something like that since you depend on other results and not only on yourself.

They probably just sucked in those first few games, like we did but thanks to the system they got another chance which they used to eventually win the whole thing.

You have even more drastic example in African Cup this year. Ivory Coast passed with 2 points and -4 goal difference. Same rules as this Euro. They even sacked manager after loosing last game in group stage 4;0 and then went on to win the tournament.

So we know what to do, immediately fire Dalic, and then take the trophy  Cool

I was gonna bring that up but Trofo got here first. This 'best 3rd place' rule can be played very smartly by certain teams, and Ivory Coast really used the group stage well, reserved everything for the knockouts onwards.

Did they deserve it? I think anyone who wins deserve it.

Croatia odds must be even better now, any takers? Wink

I don't think that anyone expects Croatia so qualify with two points. We don't deserve it
Our chances are indeed very slim, but this "we don't deserve to qualify with 2 points" is imho bs. Back in 2016 Portugal had 3 draws in their weak group (Iceland, Hungary, Austria) yet they managed to end as champions, with only 1 win in regular time (vs Wales in 1/2 final). I doubt anyone there is saying "man, we shouldn't have even passed the group when we couldn't beat anyone".

The worst thing is that the way we played first periods against Albania and Italy is actually the tactics that Dalic decided go with. Not that our players didn't have the will to try harder. They simply decided not to risk conceding a goal and then start playing in the second period. I don't know why he decided to go with that tactics, but I don't like it. But the biggest mystery to me is why he insisted in keeping Brozovic on the field. Yeah, he had few good plays, but he isn't the same player since he left Europe. I hope that now it's time to retire "the seniors" and give a chance to younger players.
