He has had enough time to get the players playing the way he wants them to. And I doubt his character which shows in his decisions and press conferences. Why talk about not having a replacement for Phillips in the middle when you dropped him from selection? England is always one of the favorites in every tournament and then a tournament starts end they play like shit. I don't know, maybe they can surprise us.
They have had below average management over the years. The players are of very high quality and should be playing better than this, especially as they are almost all from the same league and familiar with the same pace of game.
I would not write them off yet still, they were not so great in the last EUROs and made it to the final.

Well, to be fair to Southgate, he was useful in repairing the team spirit. Remember the supposed golden generation with Gerrard and Lampard etc, they couldn't get along, hated each other but he went in and made the team ok.

Georgia 1-1 Czech Republic on 78 minutes. I could really do with the Czechs scoring to win this game. I had Switzerland and Czech Republic to get 4 points from their 2nd games in one of the questions for this round.
Georgia are really fighting hard, I expected them to get battered in all three group games but they are doing their country proud.

Nice, i'm in the clear with the two points I earned today. The research on the Ukraine squad paid off and lucked out on the Poland question.
It'll be interesting to keep an eye on the last few questions and I wonder who'll be the sacrifice this time.
Loosing points left an right. Only question I got right so far was Ukraine GK and that was actually the only one I was confident in. That is a good one to get as Lunin was always the first choice and the performance against Romania was really bad from him which was really strange to say the least.I only got Albania not to lose right and that was somewhat accidental point as anything could have happened in that game,another bad one for me was France not winning yesterday which from the 1st half as I only saw that,they should have scored in 2-3 goal chances although Netherlands played much better in total.I hope Czech do not win against Georgia and Portugal scores no more than 2 goals against Turkey so I can get a couple of points,I am safe for this round I believe but if I only get one point from 10 questions next round I am definitely out of the tournament

It does. If it was set up that previous points count, those who are rebuying in will have their work cut out for them cause they are still starting from a disadvantaged position, but we all get a fresh slate. You need just one monster round to put yourself in contention to win it.

Second point secured and should be safe from here on if nothing ridiculous happens, still a dissapointing performance so far. Cannot wait to get this round done and get the next batch of questions. The most anticipated match of match day 3 turned out to be an anticlimax, disappointing show going forward but great defending from both sides.

In this round the success rate has dropped quite a lot. I'm still worried as I have only 1 point. There are still 3 people with 0 points thankfully but the last questions are going to be really exciting. It is really difficult to focus on being the winner here as I'm just trying to save the round for now. I'm far away from my BSFL performance and if I go on like this I'm likely to get eliminated quite soon.

Finally, out of the "zero" zone with 2 points today. 4 whole points this entire contest so far, while jeremypwr has 8 and b1gfudge has 10(who on earth is this?!?!). If things don't turn around for me, I am also questioning buyins beyond group (or am I bluffing?).
As Rikafip already wrote, both strikers in the questions were fit, fighting recent injuries in friendlies to play full games (remind me why I hate friendlies). I guess especially Lewie was a muscle they didn't want to risk unless they absolutely needed to. I like Pistol Piotr, though, too bad he's not enough.
So it seems Lewandowski wont make it to the starting lineups. I dont really follow Poland so I have no clue about them at all, I thought Lewandowski should start especially after they lost the 1st game. Are those starters even better than Lewandowski?
