Because it would take many days to obtain all blockchain starting from 0,
i upload my folder (except wallet.dat), so you can have it fast from one of the links :

http://hotupload.eu/3xy

https://mega.nz/#!oAIkEQjI!g5x324eQaK0pybxWDtPJPoZKKwTcFbpxTRhxurGU5Qs

http://www.fileconvoy.com/dfl.php?id=g779b7926cba3127f999823607cefac39549e05c5f

http://www.gigasize.com/get/6x14ov8whbc

According to those sites rules, files will be available for a limited time, usualy 1 month,
so you should download them asap.
If you need a bootstrap only, you can make one from this archive.

Starcoin releases are available here : https://github.com/strcoin/starcoin/releases
and starcoin-1.7.1.0-win64 also here : https://mega.nz/#!1B4HRAxD!vDMlIFAplwV_7s8Ro8PNJ8qb2cdKQxYF-dh9ieG--ps

First of all, DON'T FORGET to backup somewhere safe your "wallet.dat".
After you download and unrar the starcoin folder, add a copy of your wallet.dat.
Replace yourusername and yourpassword with your own ones in starcoin.conf .
Then you can start it, and it is already actualized till 04.may.2016.
As you probably already know, you need pacience, because it will take 45-60 minutes to start.

If you have other available working nodes, please let everybody know about them.

Also, if anyone know how can i set and configure a node, please tell me.

I still have this running on my pools, but the wallet/node is constantly using all the system CPU that I need to shut it off.
If someone could release an updated wallet, then I think this is salvageable.
I remember something like that on my pools long ago, I ended up disabling the staking process. Try that, it may fix the cpu usage. 0.02c

Whats the saying on STR? I loved to mine the coin back then...was one of my first solo mine projects. All the fancy different reward and tokens. It was a nice idea. Being revived?

What the holders think of this coin? there is a chance that this project will be revived?

the best route (if Cryptsy survives) is to transfer (not TX send) to an escrow agent and:

A. Launch a working POS/POW hybrid
B. go pure asset (see NAUT)

At one point I actually thought about forking/reviving this but didn't really want to get involved in a PoS coin.

1. awesome BRAND
2. yes, shitclone but float on the free market for +2yrs, long enough for solid price discovery
3. fork it?  so, 2014 ... better just find a way to redeem for an asset token ... just burn it ... or launch a premined POS and swap (not fork).  First crypsty needs to die, or reform, time will tell, but cry is the big pickle.  If I recall right a dev stepped up and fixxed the code but cry refused to update and the network fizzled out.

All cryptos are FIAT digital currency. Do not use.

could flip it into a asset?

big plus is that "STR" was stolen by Stellar and they've now rebranded so STR means STAR COIN once again!

Not really active indeed. Probably close to death.

However, I tried to fire it up today. It appears to be active, but it won't synch unfortunately.

it's 2 years old, there are only a few older coins than STAR

Strange to hear it. I see a lot of coins that are smaller than the age starcoin but they have much greater popularity and price. Maybe those who are now keep close the mining these coins will begin to create normal site?
