A few months ago Steam it laid off 70% of their employees as the company is struggling to meet their financial goals. We all know its dead. Is there any better alternative? And do you think such alternatives can survive?

Steemit made itself too complex for regular users. It should have implemented a single coin throughout the platform rather than using multiple of coins and tokens. There are several ways to secure ones account then having several long passwords for every other task. Steemits model of taking fees with users for task was the largest blunder.

omg yeah finally someone said it. Totally agree with the complex coins & tokens system. Its one of the reasons that a normal social media user couldn't move to Steemit.

I think steemit isn't dead. Steemit is still working just that its not functioning properly. Also, there are so many rubbish on steemit now which turns investors off.

Apart from just rubbish, don't you think its so difficult to use for a person who isn't familiar with blockchain and crypto currency? Serioulsy if being honest, Steemit isn't for general social media users. Also the content there is 80% of the time related to cryptocurrency making it platform for just crypto enthusiasts.

On the other hand, if you check SNAC, it allows you to create groups, form communities, get rewards for growing communities etc. There are even groups for travel, food, music, kpop, etc.

I also search for something similar to steemit, but i want to get paid on crypto. Steemit still pay? Anyone know some service like that who pay with crypto coins and try it?

Yeah SNAC is already giving cryptos for various activities e.g LIKE, VOTE, BET, Refer etc. Best part is they give you 10 SNAC for just liking a post. And since 1 SNAC = almost 1 cent, that's really a cool thing.

You can find other ways to earn cryptos on SNAC here: https://medium.com/futurepia/snac-events-complete-guide-e9d06c29a05c

Is this coin listed in exchange i was searching for better alternative for steemit eventually i found this thread . Publish)x coins also i dint find in coinmarketcap as well as in coingecko even SNAC also couldnt able to .If these coins are listed please let me know .

SNAC is a stable coin which is worth 1 KRW. SNAC can be exchanged with PIA coins (the coin of Futurepia Blockchain where SNAC is deployed).

PIA has already successfully done the IEO on BW exchange and in next month will list there.

Yes, Steemit Inc announced that 70% of their employees were laid-off due to the company restructuring. It is clear that there are major issues at the company. This mainly happened due to the entire cryptocurrency market downtrend. The price of STEEm has dropped more tha 90%, decereasing the overall market capitalization.
If the main moto is to write ust articles, I prefer Medium. This is one of the best platforms.ther options are Dtube, Sphere, futurepia, Sapien(I am using Sapien at the moment and the experience is really great), yours.org and so on.

As long as I know steemit pay their employees with fiat, means that in the bearish market steemit may struggle to pay their employees. I don't think steemit is dead yet, they can change their payment structure.

And about the alternative, im not really sure but Mithril is the closest one to steemit.

Will it be productive if they pay their employees with cryptocurrencies as well? Because by far as I know, employees on different platform chooses to have been paid through cryptos as they also know what is the benefits that they can get through investment and trading, as well as the potential of many coins in the market.

Publish0x is better alternative, the user experience and remarks has been encouraging, personally i would recommend publish0x to you check it out they might give you what steemit couldn't.
I have heard about this as Steemit is not performing that much publish0x can be another options to try out, this can be another way to earn crypto,
same deal with steemit where you will publish your article and accumulate free coins.

Yeah Publish0x also looks better for blogging. Meanwhile SNAC is a social media (an amalgamation of Facebook and Instagram) on blockchain. Rewarding content creators and consumers at the same time.

These layoffs didn't happen with steemit alone it happened to every other company due to the unending bear run of 2017-18 period. I don't think there will be better alternative to steemit in near future. Steemit has not only stood the test of time but they have also shown one can earn doing what they love most which can be blogging or travelling and sharing such experiences.

Bounty0X created nice blogging platform for all cryptocurrency enthusiasts. They offer earning BNTY tokens by writing your articles, but not only that, also readers can earn here!
And another positive thing is that this platform seems to be more decentralized - I mean that they will not delete inappropriate content.  Smiley

I don't think Steemit is dead, but we have for sure seen a pretty big downturn in the past couple of months.  There have been a lot of users powering down and leaving the platform.  My feed used to be filled with all kinds of new posts on a daily basis.  Now it is mostly the same bunch of people over and over again.  I don't think that is bad thing though.  It gives me less crap to sift through and I think it is also indicative of the growth of the STEEM blockchain.  That's right, I said growth.  I know that sounds the opposite of what I said above, but I think more people are finding ways to interact with the STEEM blockchain outside of Steemit.  Things like Esteem, Busy, Actifit, Steemhunt, are all new projects that have people interacting on them.  I hardly ever use Steemit to post anymore, but I use it pretty exclusively on my desktop to comment and upvote.  When I am at home I use Partiko.  I think in the end there is still a lot of development on the STEEM blockchain.  In the past the only way to access the STEEM blockchain was with Steemit.  Now there are so many other ways.  If you look at it that way then yes, in the future several years down the road, Steemit may die, but the STEEM blockchain will remain alive and well in my opinion.

Steemit used to be very OK from onset. What amazed me is that you can't delete a post once it's upvoted and rewarded, and operations used to be swift. But nowadays, most times when you want to post, you see steempower challenges requesting you buy some steem power. Also, too many rubbish posts on steemit, which is not entirely their fault. About steemit laying off staff, I have no idea about it. Overall, steemit has a good concept, but the management needs to be improved.

Steemit is a very good platform, currently they are one of the best platform for hunters to publish their unique article but seems the platform as not been doing well since the beginning of the bearish market and i guess this was because of steam dip.

Bearish market doesn't mean a company will just fold up and end just like that, there can be some sort of restructuring as to reduce cost in order to meet with the reality on ground. Steemit is alive and bubbling and will continue to grow bigger.
