Many do indeed appear to be dumping though, including most of the founders and developers. I find that to be more concerning than what outsiders who bought or mined our coins decide to do either way.

What really? First BitShares and now this  Angry

What is the reason for the crash?

Large amount of new coins that hit the exchanges make high price unsustainable ?

45 / 50 top whales are dumping all they can get out. that's the reason why

That's not good.  Are they still making profit at these prices?

Random founder/whale account power down 40,000 STEEM/week * 0,20 cent = 8,000 USD  ..... yes, it appears they are making profit Cheesy

Sucks for the ones who bought steem in the dollars.

These numbers can be misleading. I leave power down turned on all the time so I'm probably included (twice) in that 45, but decide what to do with the coins each time. For the past few weeks I've been powering them back up.

Why are they dumping? Just extracting the value and leaving the platform? Aren't whales supposed to be the biggest believers of steemit?

Is 37k the bottom or what? I loaded 20k+ down here

The bottom will be 1 SAT with all the founders/whales powering down and flood the market or better flee the platform..

that horrible if the price crash to 1 sat

There is only a little over 12 million liquid steem right now. 179 million is tied up in steem power. I don't think it will crash all the way down to 1 sat anytime soon. Even if there is one person with 1 BTC willing to buy up the entire available supply, that would give a bottom of around 8 sats. I doubt there would be many people who are willing to actually sell their liquid steem for that low, anyway. So they would probably HODL. 1000 sats is probably not out of the question though. Grin
