Any update from the dev?

He is probably busy unloading his share on the market.

Stellar Foundation does not need to use bots, as they have the ability to control Inflation and have minted all the STR. 1% inflation occurs annually. Newly created STR are distributed according to votes from individual accounts. However, since votes are weighted according to the number of STR an account holds---and the SDF controls at least 5% of all STR---they can continually mint new money:

Quote
If the Foundation is the beneficiary of new stellars, the stellars can be used to support our operations or to extend the direct signup and increased access programs.

excerpt from the mandate

I am thinking that this must be a test run and that the SDF plans to reset the ledger so that bots/hackers/scammers will not control the future of the network?

Does anyone know why the Stellar Foundation is not blocking bots from participating in the giveaway?

I am not sure how they can recover from all of the distribution issues at this point.

Is a ledger reset in the works?

My guess is to either sell now or when the mass amount of invite codes go out. The price might rise when they go out, then will definitely go down once everyone starts to dump their stellar. Can't tell me that all those people with fake facebook accounts don't have a bunch sitting around just for this.

Is this an official release of desktop client from stellar foundation ? If so, where is the link to their announcement ? How do we know that it's safe to use ?
No it's not.
It's a community client.

Distribution was supposed to set Stellar apart, ...
If so, that's a comically absurd plan. You can't distribute value until you create it.

Still have my invite! 100 next or 0.0075 BTC.

Last week there was an user who was paying about 0.03 btc for an invite.

Can you tell me who it was, I have an invite and I'll sell for half of that.

Is it right time to buy stellars as the price is down

Investigate the performance of SDF before making investment decisions. At the moment, Stellar mainly seems to be about creating a non-profit tax shelter. Despite SDF's heavy marketing emphasis on community and promoting good, Stellar in operation seems to be as distant from those things as is possible.

Even at a code level, Stellar is effectively designed to give the wealthiest users the greatest control: Inflation tax. Note that the number of STR you hold defines how many votes you have to control the distribution of new wealth. As the money supply increases, those who do not hold a large amount of Stellar absorb the consequences. SDF has no need to sell off significant amounts of their own holdings when they can use their 5% minted share to print money, at the cost of debasing the holdings of regular users.

Stellar comes closest to the Federal Reserve of any cryptocurrency I have encountered, with the beneficiaries being: Founders, SDF, Stripe, and giveaway hackers/scammers.
