Hi everyone, it's been awhile, just wanted to tell you that I still haven't sold a bit of BTC since 2013... if I can do it you can do it too!

Some of you may say it's a dumb decision or risky, but I'm all for BTC and positive about it. To the Moon!
Yeah, that's a tough thing. not everyone can maintain his principles when the bitcoin price is rising, especially when he has a lot of bitcoins. to be honest i've known bitcoin for a long time, however, since i first made bitcoins, i've been selling the bitcoins i got a lot.
Yeah, I'm very sorry for that. to be honest i also want to hold one of the popular coins right now. maybe it's good enough to hold in the long run

Am Not sure mate if I can handle the temptation , I don't Know where do you get that so much trust in crypto ?

You are Unbelievable mate, because the desire to Make Huge profit is what we wanted here and since you bought your Bitcoin back in 2013 meaning in 2017 Bull market you already earn more than multiple times of your capital right? yet you denied selling ,, and then there is 2021 that made you more than x50 profit yet did not decide to sell?

Man you are really a Bitcoin Supporter .. SALUTE for a one of a kind HODLER .

Good job OP. I wouldn't be able to hold for that long without at least taking some profit.

I'm a holder since 2015, but I feel that celebrating each ATH with some spending is the way to feel even better about it. Each time BTC reaches a significant level for the first time like $10k, $20k, $30k, I turn some of my holdings into a physical object and this makes me feel good even when the price falls. That said, I  know that I will never be completely out. If we go to 100k net year I'll just sell another 10% of my portfolio and keep holding the rest. I'd like my daughter to get BTC when she's old enough to understand it.

I admire his way of thinking, in fact it reminds me of Jesse Livermore's books, that he always said that profits must be seen physically, they must be felt, because profits must be enjoyed, what he did was travel on ships and clear his head of everything that was a complicated market at that time, and I am very happy that your daughter has such an excellent inheritance, one day I will have BTC and I will leave it to my children too, I believe that in the future 1btc will be a life guarantee for an entire complete family.

You are one of the real holders. Well, this may not be easy for some people. Selling Bitcoin doesn't mean that they don't really want to hold them, but maybe because of some crucial reasons, emergency, urgency, and others.
But, as long as we don't need cash urgent and emergencies, I think that we can also do what you are doing right now, holding your BTC.
1BTC in 2013 may not be worth high, but now? Well, that's an awesome amount of $. Moreover in the [revious months where BTC can exactly touch its ATH.

Of course, it's not an easy thing to have to resist the urge to sell where other people have sold it and get big profits. But it will pay off later if the price soars because we know the price of bitcoin from year to year is increasing. Just need to wait for the time for bitcoin to rise in price according to your expectations. Of course, at that time you will get a lot of benefits, happy to hear that. I just hope that bitcoin can bounce back and recover so that we can utilize and manage it well again and make a profit.

That is some diamond hands display for sure.

I can only imaging that the OP HODL's "a few" bitcoin and to see it climb through
$1000, through $5000, $10,000, $25,000 and so on and not cash some out to
buy a Lambo or holiday home is quite remarkable.

Its true that not all of us can leave everything untouched, many of us have to
seell and buy back.

I salute your courage and patience for hodling your BTC for quite a long time since 2013 next year will mark a decade, this is indeed remarkable feat and achievement even a time when bitcoin reached several ATH you remained steadfast and resolute and hodl on, I believed that some others hodlers would also want to share their own experience and testimony, however majory of them must exchange some of their bitcoin to fiat during ATH bearing in mind that they had already earned some decent profits.
We always have our own preferences when it comes to investments and usually, we set our goal price when to sell. So in times when bitcoin has reach an impressive value, we always yearn for profits. And that's most of us here are really practicing it. But i think OP has also its own plan maybe to use it for his retirement or to leave it as an inheritance to his children if there are any. But whatever it is, he is just doing what's best for him in the future.

As we have our own needs and priorities, he is lucky that he doesn't need to touch his btc during these challenging times.
A lot are selling once they see the price is good for their profit because some have financial needs to address.
But I commend those who can just let their btc sit and wait for years and years.
They may have plans on their own and they are just following it. Maybe he is financially stable even without his btc holdings.

It seems to me that you either A) Don't have a big holding of Bitcoin or B) You have a privileged enough lifestyle that your Bitcoin holdings are relatively insignificant within your overall asset portfolio. You certainly passed up on the opportunity to sell at all time high, or even in the $50-60k range which held for quite some time. If Bitcoin did make up a bit portion of your wealth, which is highly unlikely considering your flippant approach, then you have wasted a lot of opportunity. Diversification is a solid strategy and what the richest people in the world do to maintain their wealth levels. Periodic rebalancing and taking sensible profits while the opportunities are their make a good invester, rather than someone bragging that they left a lot of money on the table.
More likely, OP has a gold spoon on his table and he's lucky enough not to experience financial problems that almost all of us are struggling to survive. But on the other hand, i can sense that he's posting this just to inspire others to do as well, not really on bragging himself. One thing is certain, he can make more profits if he was able to sell them in the previous bull run and buy back again at this bearish season. That way, there is always a progress on his current income.
Well thats reality on which there are people who are really on that state on which it isnt really needed for them to sell since they do have other source of income on which they could really sustain theirselves without

the need on selling out their investment which is good but for those people who do mainly relies on their crypto investment then it cant really be avoided on where you would definitely actively made out these
kind of decisions.

Good for those who do have diamond hands but if you do really able to sell into those ATH's then it is a good decision if you do ask me.

I envy your commitment OP and how you show dedication to your stored bitcoins. Although i want to do it as well, but this lack of funds sometimes push me to sell my bitcoin especially when there's a new ATH achieved. But honestly, i never regret my decision because i had used it to my own advantage and i benefited the profits i have made that time. So it's still not a loss for me. Hopefully, i can hold longer the next time.

Kind of wished that I didn't have the misconception on Bitcoin back in those years. I was like a little shit thinking that Bitcoin is some sort of an "illegal" currency only used by hackers and some criminals in the dark web.
If I didn't had that kind of misconception, I could have been owning more than 1 coin for obvious reasons.

I recall you a lot in this board being a strong holder, and I feel happy for you, OP.

I agree with you. BTC price has not been such that the price of this coin has been declining for a long time.

Wow thats awesome, you must have really good nerves and a strong stomach Cheesy I am also a HODL investor but sold some BTC in the past. My biggest regret was selling all my coins back in 2016. I don't even remember why I didn't keep at least some coins in my wallet. Not going to make the same mistake again. Even if I need money urgently in the future, I will always keep holding some bitcoins. BTC is the main crypto coin for me and I do believe the things will be positive again. To the Moon is a good target, lets hope  bitcoins are going to recover quickly this year.

Awesome
It is not easy for people like us to be in the position you have been in for many years. Perhaps we were mostly tempted in the few years when ATH happened. I'm quite amazed and can hardly believe anyone is still actually holding onto it. You have come to dispel our doubts. Bitcoin is still Bitcoin and you still own it. I don't know how many times the profit you missed? and how long do you plan to keep it?

Say it out loud to everyone and make sure, that there is nothing to lose if we become Bitcoin holders in the long term.

It's not easy because I'm not a rich person. But I dream to become one one day and this is what keeps me hodling. It's hard but doable.

I would argue that of the very least Bitcoin Hodler here are rich people. Nevertheless, there is a difference if you have a good job on the side and can support your life/family on that alone or if you lost your job in the crisis and now have to sell your cryptos with a heavy heart to make ends meet.

I think those who said it was a stupid decision were people who really didn't understand this because it was only stupid people who said your actions were stupid Cheesy
I'm actually jealous of what you did because indeed I made a mistake by selling just btc a few years ago and you can say I started back from the beginning about my investment there.

The bitcoin you holding is still profitable no matter what happens is there's a profit when you pulled it out it depends on you now if you are going to sell because you need some money or just keep holding and wait for the market to make a good movement and trying to achieve the price of 100k USD. Congrats to you certified holder good luck with your decision to earn profit.
