I congratulate you for the great strength of patience you have, it is never easy to hold Bitcoin for that long especially after it has reached big peaks several times, I am a believer in Bitcoin and I am sure it will go to the moon someday but my main problem is impatience, if I keep some Bitcoin and I saw the price reached a big peak I sell immediately. I have this defect and I hope to be able to overcome this problem in the future.

Don't let others control your BTC -> self custody
Same here. I haven't sold since 2014 apart from what I got from signature campaigns over the years. I have 2 bitcoin stashes one for long time holding and one for spending. The one that I used to spend from was all the money from altcoins, trading, signature campaigns, giveaways. I spent it all on alcohol, electronics and other shit.

Keep hodling guys. In 3 years what you see now all the fear and doubt won't even matter when in another cycle you'll see bitcoin bottom out at 70k.

Hi everyone, it's been awhile, just wanted to tell you that I still haven't sold a bit of BTC since 2013... if I can do it you can do it too!

Some of you may say it's a dumb decision or risky, but I'm all for BTC and positive about it. To the Moon!
2013 is a year that until now can only be called a winner. The proof that the holder is the victor is right before our eyes. I'd rather say it's a decision that makes us envious of what you did.

The waiting, the patience and everything you've been through makes you laugh at the end and makes you more confident. Honestly, you become the only happy person. Wait for Bitcoin at 6 digits. Let us know some gifts you'd like to share. Lol  Grin

Cheers BTC

Well damn, glad for you OP. Pretty sure it was rather hard, especially during peak seasons I reckon. Still, it probably was a bit easier in the following peak seasons after the first, but it doesn't mean that it was still easy to hold after all of that. Might've been better to buy sometimes during dips? But oh well, if you're satisfied with what you have now, glad for you! Still, you might want to withdraw some every now and then to spread your portfolio, after all holding for that long should give you enough leeway to actually invest on something else.

If until January 2022 they didn’t really sell a drop of bitcoins that they bought then back in 2013, this is at least worthy of respect! I think having gone such a long way with bitcoin in your hands, you have convinced yourself many times that your strategy is right and the belief that it is right and right has only strengthened with time. Unfortunately, not everyone is as smart and wise as you - but a wonderful example remains only to kindly envy your patience and endurance. Congratulations!

How do you resist greed? You have said you are not a rich person? How do you resist not clicking sell? Hit your hands? Slap yourself? If it not a big secret, then how much Bitcoin have you been holding since 2013? If you have at least one or a lot of them, then I envy your patience not selling it in 2018 when the price hit 20k. But if you have like 0.0001 Bitcoin, for example, then it would not be that hard to hold it for such a long time. I think everyone has 1000-10000 satoshi left or forgotten on faucets, projects dashboards, exchanges, wallets and etc.

I like your positivity. As well as motivating topics that you create regularly. I accidentally found your similar topic, but written last year.
Why? Because the way the world goes, people will want to see BTC at $100K. And after that, they will want to see BTC at $1M.

BTC is the future, gold is the past.

It's all possible folks.

I'm a HODLer since 2013 and haven't sold a bit. If I can do it you can do it too Smiley

Your message history is permeated with a deep belief in bitcoin, it expresses great respect. Unfortunately, not everyone has such endurance, there are a lot of temptations to spend bitcoins.
But I support your idea with the motivation to trust people in bitcoin. If we see more crypto enthusiasts like you, bitcoin will probably do even better.

Instead of saying this is a stupid decision, I actually think your decision is very right and what you do is something very brilliant and very worthy of emulation.
the increase in btc from year to year is always significant and you are strong enough to withstand it for about 9 years now and I am very sure that your current assets are enough to make at least for your future life.
i appreciate what you are doing right now and it is an action that not everyone can do and maybe only a few people can do that

Your choice is right, my friend. I didn't expect you to be so strong in protecting your assets from the price temptation that touched the fantastic ATH last year. But no one expected the price that would happen in the future.

like when people looked at 2013 ago.
If I can get it from the bounty, maybe I will also keep it. If I exchange it for fiat money, I can't invest up to an unspecified limit, it's too risky.

people who think you are stupid, he will be more surprised when he finds the fluctuations in prices beyond his senses and will mumble

don't you want to take a little profit? it should be profitable now compared to the purchase price in 2013. mhehhe

I take my hat off to your achievement, it's great.
I don't think I can do that, but it's true what you say. If you can do it, why can't I. I am very motivated to be more patient in holding bitcoins.
Actually we have great power to do that, but greed is always the main enemy in investing.

that is a great achievement my friend, because holding on for quite a long time like what you are doing is something that is quite difficult and only a few people can do it and it can be said that you are a person who is lucky enough and very patient in holding your assets .
because what I believe until now is holding is harder than buying or selling but holding on

Unfortunately I don’t have BTC anymore. I gave them up last December 2020, but ended up regretting when it moons all the way up to $20k+ and almost touched down $70k too. Only ETH so far I have bought at cheaper price under $200 and holding it until now.

Right now it’s on a up and down trend between $34k to $37k, so I might be planning to do some DCA on this every month.

Good Job OP, but i am not certain everyone can do what you have done. You must have a great and steady source of income and be really disciplined too, 2013 to 2022 is like nine years. You really haven't sold any btc? have you been adding occasionally to the initial sum you invested in 2013 or you've just been HODLing the amount you invested then?

Good job OP. I wouldn't be able to hold for that long without at least taking some profit.

I'm a holder since 2015, but I feel that celebrating each ATH with some spending is the way to feel even better about it. Each time BTC reaches a significant level for the first time like $10k, $20k, $30k, I turn some of my holdings into a physical object and this makes me feel good even when the price falls. That said, I  know that I will never be completely out. If we go to 100k net year I'll just sell another 10% of my portfolio and keep holding the rest. I'd like my daughter to get BTC when she's old enough to understand it.

Good for you OP. I didn’t sell hardly anything since 2015 but I have to admit I sold significant amounts of my hoardings in 2021 (less than 50%) when we went over $50,000. I changed my life doing this, I don’t regret it. I will probably be able to buy them back below $30,000 so I regret nothing.

If you really do, I applaud you.
Not many people have the patience like you. Most of them want to enjoy the profits they make without waiting long. And you became one of the people who showed people including me, that patience is the key to success.

I wonder how many bitcoins you have since 2013. Do you buy more or just hold it from a long time ago?

I think that is not dumb but you are the real holder and I salute you because many of us who has many bitcoins will tempt to sell our bitcoin at least two times at the highest price. But you did not do that. Can I know how much your target price is to sell? I am sure you will become a rich person because I believe in bitcoin like you.

A real btc maxis you are, even when btc hit ath of 69k you still held through and was not tempted to sell not even a small amount!
I guess if you are determined to do something plus you have the capability (meaning another resource) you can do it, you are the real definition of a diamond hand,
May I ask if you ever thought of selling at some point in the future or it is just going to hodl till the end?

I'd love to sell and buy back but what the price will be I have no idea: a new ATH that's for sure (I think we will have this 100%). I probably have to feel it's time and act accordingly. Even if I won't be able to buy back still not a bad deal.
