A real btc maxis you are, even when btc hit ath of 69k you still held through and was not tempted to sell not even a small amount!
I guess if you are determined to do something plus you have the capability (meaning another resource) you can do it, you are the real definition of a diamond hand,
May I ask if you ever thought of selling at some point in the future or it is just going to be hodl till the end?

Surprised that you have such patience. I wonder if it was better to sell not so long ago?

BTC climbed 2 times to the 65-69K range and then fell to the 30-35K range. These 2 were great opportunities to sell and buy back. But you never know before so I don't regret a thing. There is no guarantee for anything.

That’s pretty impressive my friend! I wish I had diamond hands that strong. At this point I’m quite sure that I’ve sold several million dollars worth of bitcoins and of course wish I hadn’t done so but with so many ups and downs it was hard to know where bitcoin was heading next all these years and when you have several thousand percentage gains it’s hard not taking some off the table.

You're already multiply at least 40x from your beginning capital and you still not sold it? I'm just wonder in which price you want to sell your coins?

It's a good reason to keep hold, but to whoever you've sold his coins in the past (and now) you're not totally wrong. It depends on you spend though, if you spend it for seminars and got educated to learn become a good businessman, you're already "investing" too. Even you're not getting a reward, but you're getting experiences.

Hi everyone, it's been awhile, just wanted to tell you that I still haven't sold a bit of BTC since 2013... if I can do it you can do it too!

Some of you may say it's a dumb decision or risky, but I'm all for BTC and positive about it. To the Moon!
I applauded you for holding that long, personally, the longest that I've been holding btc is 3 years until I sold some because of personal reasons last April-May of 2021. But I know that it is doable, I have stocks that I have been holding for 9 years already and still not thinking of selling them for the next 9 years.

And yes, if you can do it, then others can, but it will really take a lot of mental toughness and discipline in your end.

It's very easy, if you can afford it. Most people can't.

It is all about choices. I told some friends of mine about it in November 2010, and then at various points since then. People chose to spend $5/day on Starbucks or $15/ month on Netflix or $1000 on a wedding trip for mutual friends. Or replacing a phone that is 12 months old instead of waiting for another year or two.  Or deciding to play video games instead of getting a part time job to buy some or to pay for electricity to mine. Or to decide to go out and drinkinstead of spending time figuring out how to set up a CPU - or later a GPU miner. Including a few quite techie people in between spring 2012 and March 2013 who did nothing.

None of them are "rich" but they could've been with a little self discipline and buying just a few hundred or a thousand dollars worth in 2010-2013 or spending the time to set up their own computer to mine..

It is like everything else in the world, everyone gets to make choices for themselves and live with the consequences.

For example, get someone's parents or grandparents to invest $40/month from 11-18 instead of getting that cell phone. (Or get them to start at birth) and by the time you are retired you'll have more than a $ million even if you stopped at 18. Keep it up and increase it and you'll be even better.

It is the ant and the grasshopper every time.

As far as OP, I'm with you, eventually it may hit fiat equilibrium and then you won't need to sell, just transact in bitcoin.

I applaud your courage to hold bitcoin for a long time, 2013-2022 means you have held bitcoin for 9 years, you really are a true holder in my opinion.
I think you can hold on for that long because you have reserve funds in your finances, so you don't have to sell bitcoins when you have an emergency need in your family economic activities, and of course that's different from us who may only have mediocre funds, so like it or not we have to sell the few bitcoins we have to cover emergency needs.
In 2013 bitcoin experienced an increase in price from $ 104 to $ 946 and if you hold just 1 bitcoin today of course you already have a profit of $ 37,098 and of course now you have earned quite a large profit from your decision.

It's very easy, if you can afford it. Most people can't.

It's not easy because I'm not a rich person. But I dream to become one one day and this is what keeps me hodling. It's hard but doable.

With this sentence, your post becomes more valuable. But some people have to sell their BTC, because they have to ... that was what I meant.

When you have to, you have to. Honestly I will probably cash out some in 1-2 years too cannot wait forever. Time will tell.

@virtualdn, does this mean that you have not made any transactions since then in the sense that you have used BTC as a currency? It is your personal decision what to do with your assets, but Bitcoin is primarily conceived as a currency, and I, therefore, believe that everyone should buy something for BTC from time to time - and then have the right to complain about why Company A or T does not want BTC as a payment option.

I hold most of my BTC, but that doesn't stop me from using it regularly as a currency - or selling a smaller amount if I need some cash at the moment - which I consider a better option than asking for a loan from a bank.

But of course I did, I sold all my Dogecoins to get more BTC  Grin But I know what you mean.

Not a dumb thing to do, you're still in profit regardless of how much the peak was. I should congratulate you with this decision of yours. We all do believe that the last peak will be overtaken by the next peak. This is always the cycle that we've been seeing and I'm the dumb one because I've sold early with a remarkable amount of bitcoin for my holdings but that's a lesson. I'm going to be tougher this time and won't allow these weak hands of mine to sell at lower profits, although that decision of mine still made me profit.
