SWC stuff is unable to simplest stuff.
I just logged in after many months and absolutely nothing has changed.
They don’t even have new tables even though the price of btc more than doubled since my last login.
Cashier is still terrible with the withdrawal fees still not being dynamic, even though they promised to fix this like 8 months ago, haha.
This site is destined to fail.
All you got their now are a few regulars and plenty of bots and house players.
Damn. I was actually thinking of playing here for a while since I am a fan of poker and there are extremely few decent options in the crypto gambling world which is why it sucks to hear that this option is a bust too.

Am just patiently waiting for a site like Stake to offer a proper poker option sometime in the future.

Yeah if you can find another place, do it.
SWC is not worth your time, trust me. Like 3-4 years ago it was fun but now it's just ridiculous.
They raised the rake 3 or 4 times within 2 years. Before they had a great rake and now you pay way more than at every fiat site because the cap is calculated in bb (which is all btc of course). And since the price of btc is so high, this also raises the cap on every pot they charge as rake.

Hopefully stake will have omaha, 5 card omaha and the hi lo variations, not only focus on NL holdem. If they do and actually have a fair rake, stake might become a good option for crypto poker players.

When 5-10 BBJ tables?

Today my friend, who I referred, and I regret it got cheated at this site. I cannot recommend anybody to keep playing there.
He sent me the whole hand history and it is kind of obvious.
I mean, many people stated that "you don't play against the players that sit at 5$/10$ or higher HU tables", especially at Omaha.
Well he did and he played against the typical house player. This site clearly has accounts with backdoor access to players hole cards, 100%.

In the final hand he was called by a middle pair even though the board showed a flush, possible straight and possible full house, and the "bot" called with 1 pair, an allin for 220 big blinds, basically 600$ allin. Nobody ever would make this call.
And it also wasn't a misclick, because it too him like 90 seconds to call.
I know my friend made a bluff and got called, but in no world this call is normal behaviour, unless you know the cards your opponent is having.

Also there was setup over setup. Flop 2 5 6, my friend has 22 set and 3 4 for the flopped straight. Bot is betting pot on flop and turn , guess what the outcome was, turn 6 river 6, bot gets quads with less than 5% on the flop.

Anyway, I for myself know to NOT play with these people, I grind the lower stakes at non HU tables. This is just a warning for those who are ever tempted to play higher and see these house accounts sitting, don't even thing about playing with them, you will lose every single big pot.  Cry

Haha, norivernocry was gonna be one of the guesses. Also I'm in your list, hehe.

Only 1 more day!!

Nah, I am not noriver, this guy is such a sus account in my eyes.

I thought you might be on the list, haha. Since you said it yourself, the list of frequent players is not too big actually.

I didn't register any tournaments yet, I have no time to play anyway and most of the tournaments don't really fit my time zone unfortunately. Have to plan it in advance always so I will choose only the good ones.

Wish you good luck though!

Who here is excited for the Bitcoin Series of Poker 2023? https://swcpoker.club/posts/bitcoin-poker-tournaments/2023-bitcoin-series-of-poker-5-btc-guaranteed

I sure wanna win a bracelet.

$10,500 guaranteed for the main event, not too shabby at all

It looks ok.
In my opinion it's still to NLH heavy, would love to see more mixed games as more tournaments of all the Omaha variants.
1 good thing though, happy to see they added 2 drawmaha tournaments, even if one is only a 15$ one.

Most tournaments have 3-4 rebuys, which is a bit too much I think. I know often enough at other sites you have unlimited rebuys but I prefer freezeouts or 1, max 2, rebuys.

Let's see if we find some overlays, with the rebuys and long late registration periods I doubt it though.

Haha I could guess your screen name in 3 guesses probably. You mixed omaha player scandis are pretty tough these days

I agree that there probably won't be overlays, though maybe in the high roller or heads up championship with no late reg

The worse would be if tourneys don't even run. I like to late reg but if i see one isn't going cuz not enough entrants to run I'll hop in. The mixed ones are probably in more danger of this.

Truly is a good start and something to build from, past tourney series have been decent but this really has a lot of good guarantees overall. And they do seem to have the tourney players.

Can't wait for the drawmaha and nl 2-7 events

And the 12 game championship is mine. Come at me

3 tries? I doubt it. I can name you several omaha players (excluding the HU house bots). What about beans, OG with his several accounts, norivernocry, veganhippie, lilb1tcoin, btcsuperstar, taata1602, bitgonjinn, JamieGold, owari, billyswords, and so on. And that's only the most seen, not micro players. Smiley

Anyway, let's see what the series will bring and if it's worth it.

Dear SWC,

The stud games were being raked even if they didn't get to 4th street.  I see this has been fixed.  When will we be receiving refunds for this?

It's been 3 weeks. When will I be getting a refunds for this?  Some players have claimed they have gotten refunds for this already.  Why haven't I? Why are you not responding here?

Still no refund. Still no response here either.

Instead of complaining you should read my reply above. They are not really active here.
You should contact them via their telegram support group, that's why they made this group to they can replay and deal with player's problems fast.

Don't expect a reply here, message them on tg and send them an email.

Dear SWC,

They recently created a telegram group for these kind of questions and requests. Plenty of other people already voiced it there.
It shows the message when you login into your swc account, if it doesn’t show anymore here is the name of the telegram group: @swc_support

They are really fast in addressing players concerns, you should give it a shot.

RE: Recent Rake Increase, April 2023

I understand that the increase or decrease in rake caps is may be necessary due to a dramatic rise or fall in the price of Bitcoin, but a change in the rake percentage represents a huge fundamental change in SWC rake policy.  A change in the percentage has nothing to do with a change in the price of Bitcoin.  Can you please explain why you are making these changes to the rake percentages?

The archived SWC rake is here: https://swcpoker.club/old-rake

I will post a few examples of the changes made to SWC rake policy

NL PL Games:

10/20 and under April 2023 to present: 5%
25/50 and up April 2023 to present: 4.5%
-------------------------------------------------
10/20 and under Jan 2021 to April 2023: 4%
25/50 and up Jan 2021 to April 2023: 3.6%
-------------------------------------------------
Too many rake changes from Aug 2020 to Jan 2021 to mention
There was a lot of confusion by SWC team regarding how to make changes
This is when the 1st fundamental shift in rake percentage policy takes place
A lot of very angry players
-------------------------------------------------
10/20 and under Nov 2018 to Aug 2020: 2.5%
25/50 to 500/1000 Nov 2018 to Aug 2020: 2.5%
-------------------------------------------------
I looked around the internets and found an old rake chart from SWC in 2016 where the NL/PL rake was 2.5% for all stakes.

As you can see from the no limit and pot limit rake changes listed above, over the course of approximately 3 years the rake percentage has doubled.  Why?  The limit games rake percentage has also increased substantially.  I will post regarding those separately.

Here is a quote from SWC 2019:

Bitcoin fluctation price should not affect to rake. Rake is paid based on a % of the pot so the price of bitcoin in $ have no relation..

We don't adjust rake %, only the cap. If we never changed the rake cap and bitcoin increased significantly we would no longer have the lowest rake in the industry. The inverse is true when the price falls, if we didn't raise the cap we wouldn't make enough to pay our bills.

Most players won't ever notice these changes because SwC is committed to always offer games with rakes much lower than the industry.

What happened to SWC in 2020?  Can you please justify this dramatic shift in policy?

Oh wow, I didn't see there was another rake increase yesterday. Thanks for pointing that out!
20-25% more rake is ...... , well I don't even find words.

This time they raised the % AND the cap, what a greedy move.

Even before the raise they were by far not the lowest rake in the industry after all those rake increases in the past.

Raising the rake/or cap would only make sense ( be necessary for swc as a company ) of the price of bitcoin goes down and the earnings are not enough anymore. But even then it's not an argument to explain rake increases with the change of bitcoin price. One thing has nothing to do with the other.

Guess they will loses 2 or 3 players of the 200 people player base now.  Grin

Hmmmmm.

The 2 "winning" accounts are both baby seals nobody ever really saw playing before. Basically new accounts with almost no history.

SWC users in the chat are having a bad taste in the mouth about this and I can totally understand. This will be a topic in the chat for while now, I just checked it in and they were still talking.
Would not be surprised if we never saw these 2 accounts again on the site, I wonder why.  Roll Eyes

Well, sounds a little suspicious, to be honest. I understand why it's a topic in the chat, it takes a lot of luck for this to happen to someone who is just starting... but it's not impossible. It's gambling after all. And Poker especially has those crazy twists, like in this "BadBeat" hand, aces vs kings, and crazy flop for both.

By the way, there's just an image on Twitter... it seems to me that we could see the replay of that hand before, or I mixed something up. It would be nice to see the replay.

You are right, everything could happen at any moment.

Though regulars playing for years and 2 total newbie accounts are both involved in the deciding hand, these odds are quite small to be honest. I mean both!

Let's see if they will ever be seen again or both just disappear.

About the replay, all I see is a screenshot on twitter, didn't see a video of it, now or in the past.
