If RMA is too diffcult how about selling the badly performing cards for some BTC and order new ones when (if.. ) they become available? I'm not sure but I'd think there are many buyers for those.

Edit: Disclaimer: I'm not trying to justify the bad CS, just throwing an idea.

Bar doesn't count. He HAD problems and got them fixed. As for you i don't know. Do you still have problems?

So we are stuck at 5 people with problems right now?
If you think it's 5 people, you need to look at the knc forum and revise upwards dramatically.

Same here. Still trying to get an RMA.

What does trying mean? Have you contacted them via email or phone? Are they refusing an RMA? Asking for screenshots?

As someone who went through this issue, I had to email several times, send screenshots and follow up with calls during Stockholm business hours.

I have an RMA number generated it seems but I have yet to get instructions on packing/shipping. This is day 2 of no info.  Not upset yet, just waiting.

Got problems too. Firmware has not fix error => 3/4 cores working, 1/4 dead.

Have you called KNC? I know O'rama says that no customer support emails get ignored, but I've found it the case that they don't all get replied to - at least not in a timely manner.

Technically Bargraphics and I had problems. I had 1 defective chip, replaced by RMA (took 1 week, due the RMA policy that I don't care for). Both Bar and I have had problems with the hosted service in the beginning and I had a failed miner which eventually got replaced.

You don't count since you fixed your problems. I had one defective board at start too. Did RMA, got it fixed in 5 days total.

COUNTING PEOPLE WITH FAULTY UNITS/PROBLEMS:

2) CYPHER
3) FUKT
4) timmmers?
5) Puppet

Actually all of my miners were running at <50% for the first 3-4 days I received them.

Then they got fixed and one died,

Then it got replaced and about 3 patches later another died which also got replaced.

That is what happens when your unit is already in their house ready to be repaired, the whole reason I choose hosting since I'm in the USA and shipping units/modules/parts back to get RMA'd would be an expensive and time consuming task.

I had my share of problems, all were fixed within a reasonable time frame. I understand not everything can go 100% perfect and am satisfied with the service I received.

However this is just how I saw things on my end, I can't be sure if units actually DIED or if Firmware ACTUALLY fixed them as Hosted customers don't have access directly to the boxes.

The good news is that november Jupiter and Saturn's are no longer available.

According to the website.

well BFL has hit a "lag" point so to speak...(I keep track on the stuff I'll never get)....mini-rigs are caught up ..they sold no mini-rigs from like april 4th till June or some such..

but then again the big bitcoin rush started in april...so perhaps it is a wash..would be nice if difficulty slowed down to less the 30 percent for a bit..but doubtful

but just wait till my 'forced update" monarchs arrive..I tell you they will really be the cats' meow when the start mining them "ASICcoin" them coins are going places right? *snort*)..(wanders off mumbling no hope no hope)

ending on a positive note it sorta/kinda looks likely I'll at least get ROI (in my mind anyway) on the Jupiter I got on oct 18th

so it goes live and learn but hopefully we will have 'some' kinda lag in diff rise ..if at least on 1 round of such (knock wood)

Wooo now they might release their next pricing Smiley

maybe cheap extra modules??  if they dont sell more controllers (which we would love too) then they would just be selling back to their current customers..

Maybe I should ask for some compensation too  Roll Eyes
I would have loved to have my miner a few days earlier also.
In reality, I think they did a great job in general so I will not bitch about it. I can just imagine the stress they had to go through after receiving the chips. Marcus' hair is now grey, probably. Granted, my unit didn't have much problems, and I feel sorry for those who had.

For the trolls: I'm a happy customer.  Grin

I had to play a lot (it was fun) but I have 570Ghs and my investment back.
Right on!

One could get the impression there was a statement like 'no happy customers at all'.

I'm happy for you that it worked out so nice, that you do not need to pay this f'ing -/+20% Tax like us Europeans, early delivery date, smoothly working devices and therefore reached break-even. Honestly this is great. I know there's always one in the world doing better than me, so I'm totally fine with it.
If nobody would have reached break-even, situation for me would be worse for sure...so really nice!

However I'm confused that you do not care even a little about others suffering (not me).
Didn't you consider further business with KnC ? How about next time it might be you punished by bad luck with delayed/messed up delivery, broken miner, delayed RMA, nobody picks up the phone, several days of exhausting email ping-pong while diff increases and other stuff reported...

And this is exactly my point.
Nice it worked out! But what's next time ?

+1+1+1+1
I'm sorry there are a few people that didn't fair so well, but can't a single praise go by without getting shot down? There are like a dozen, out of 8000. You should be calling KNC, You will surely get farther there...as a matter of fact, they are open right now.....

8000? Never. They sold multiple units/orders to a bunch of people, but nowhere near 8000. There were a lot of groupbuys, cloudcompanies and big fish miners who ordered the brunt off it. You were indeed lucky, last time I had to call 4 days in a row to get someone on the phone.
I am truly happy for everyone who got his units early, but you have to understand the fact that every time someone posts how happy he is with his timely delivery and his ROI it's like getting kicked in the nuts repeatedly by a soccerplayer on steroids.
And if you take into account that there are 10 users here who are unhappy with knc and around 30 who defend knc and are happy with it you can, with let's say 20% variance, say that around 20-30% of their customers are indeed not happy at all with problems/customer support issues/late deliveries/*insert whatever you want here*. The thing is, most of those do not post here because they are tied in groupbuys and/or cloudmining and complain to their respective companies if at all.

I respect your opinion and I understand that you are happy and want to share that, but fact is calling KNC does do shit for problem solving, they block every attempt to solve the compensation problem, RMA's are given out days after problems are reported and only after people get to hear "try this new firmware first", emails are answered with mostly standardized messages and one gets the feeling they are not even read thoroughly and you have to call numerous times to get someone on the phone.

In my opinion voicing concerns and opinions regarding KNC in this forum has a better chance of getting through to them than personal communication. This forum is public, we know they read some of the stuff here and if they do not want to loose future sales (does not matter how many) they should be motivated to resolve those issues so that there can be peace and quiet here. You can be assured that I will revert to my former pro/neutral-KNC attitude the moment they adress those issues in public and to the satisfaction of their customers.

They sold about 2000 units, when you received a box from DHL the con note had your order number on it and next to that was your actual order number. I'm surprised no one else picked up on it.

bug?

The pool stats are what matters.  Enjoy it.

I need dumps of that:

i2cdump -y 1 0x24 b

and

i2cdump -y 1 0x24 w

Information about, power, voltage, dcdc state i'am near the solution to double the hash rate
inside the miner, hmmm not doubling but 200 Gh/s per Asic_Board.

thx

yeah so much bs here
